Truly a fitting beer for my evening:
Truly a fitting beer for my evening:
Drinking some Oberon and watching my Devils try to extend the finals one more game.
Love their Alt style beer. As I'm in TX, it's pretty fitting for the evening,
Labatt Blue Light.
More Newcastle and Chapelle's Show - can't believe this show is almost ten year's old.
Will sure knock you down!
Frankenmuth Red Sky Irish Ale. My girlfriend drove up and got it for me. She loves beer and michigan football, damn I'm lucky.
I was worried it would suffer when they started distributing (very small operation in Frankenmuth. Brewpub is a great place to eat while holiday shopping there). Fortunately, it seems good. I wanted to pick up a growler of their New Years Stout special release (available at my local Food Town, only place I've seen it), but they were getting $18.99 for it, which I just couldn't justify.
Try their 69 IPA. A solid B+ IPA. Nothing, utterly amazing, but very tasty, very easy drinking.
Drinking Sweetwater growler of spring bock. Very tasty.
Finishing off the Guinness from last night. Watching the PACMAN vs. Bradley fight. Not a bad night.
I wish I had remembered that fight was tonight, I would have gone out to the bar to catch it.
Edit: Never mind. I just realized the fight hasn't even started, yet.
in NJ of all places

I'm here for the week so when life throws New Jerseys at you, you drink Stone IPAs.
Long Beach Island is wonderful. There for July 4th. Beach and fishing. Ruination IPA is awesome. Arrogant Bastard Ale is my favorite from Stone.
(i think that's what they called the dark IPA) is one of the most glorious beers I've ever had the pleasure of consuming.
Road from me (stone is). And as good as that seems to anyone on the east coast, that does not even scratch the surface of the yummy goodness of West Coast IPAs. Get something from ballast point, Russian river, alpine....there are so many great IPAs out here. I'm gonna need to change my name to MGoFatMom.
Congrats on finding the Stone! Great find on the East Coast!
Deciding tonight between Blue Moon White Ale and my Summer Shandy.
Go with the Blue Moon. I see the Summer Shandy as a daytime, grilling type of beer.
fireball whiskey, corona, and watchin the nhl finals
fireball whiskey, corona, and watchin the nhl finals
Last night I drank ten thousand lightning bugs. Now it's Sunday morning and I'm pouring juice for my kid ready to contribute sober thoughts on who I think will emerge from the Euro 2012 Group of Death. It's not easy being 13 hours ahead of mgoblog. I bet you guys don't even know the site goes down for 5-10 minutes at 4am eastern every day (cron jobs?).
Omg send me the winning lottery numbers! I'll split the winnings.
Annoying when working nights. 4am dead period.
Anything and everything in quantity
laid back with my mind on my money and my money on my mind
I don't normally watch the NBA but it's tied up right now and I really want to see the Heat lose.
I am. I probably have an unhealthy obsession of hating the Heat.
I'm from Cleveland. Enough said, your obsession can't be as bad as mine.
Tastin' the Rockies!
I once drank 17 of those bad boys in one night. Senior year after-prom party. I pissed the bed that night. My date wasn't too happy with me.
Go ahead. Judge away. I don't care.
Summer Shandy is pretty good but I like their Sunset Wheat better.
I just save the money and pour Coors Light into a bowl of Fruity Pebbles.
You honestly would have to pay me to drink that beer. (The Summer Shandy is delicious, however.)
I'm a fan as well. The haters can hate.
My girlfriend drinks that says she likes a little beer with her lemonade. Just kidding it may be a little unmanly, but it's damn good.
Absolutely not. Those are very tasty.
I judge you to have good taste in beer. That shit is delicious.
Pisco from a vineyard I visited in Ica, Peru a few years back. (neat)
I went to Peru a couple months ago and discovered the glory and wonder that is pisco sours. That stuff is simply outstanding. Drinking pisco neat.....that took some getting used to.
But flipping between playoff games trying to decide who I hate more in basketball, and how much I want NJ to give LA something to actually worry about, or care.
Thank you very much.
Blue UV and Red Blue. Getting white girl wasted tonight (I'm a 21 yr old college male) don't worry there aren't any girls on the blog haha. Go Blue!
Just made a Bloody Mary. It's awful.
Haha do you like bloody marys to begin with?
I do. I'm just a terrible bartender.
Founders Dry Hopped Pale Ale. FTW!
The perfect beer to accompany deep frying a pork rib roast in the turkey fryer.
Hopefully Lebron's tears.
Blue light, just finished moving all day and need the beers
Just had my sanity tested when I assembled a gas/charcoal/smoker combo today and it's finally cooling down in LA's San Fernando Valley....time for quantity over quality. Oh yeah. It's Miller time.
A few ice cold Bass Ale
Drink at cellar temp as the makers intended!
Tough to do if you don't have a cellar, though...
Founders Dirty Bastard interspersed with shots of 1800. Yeah I'm not going to remember tonight. Happy 23rd birthday to me!
Lebron James has shot 15 free throws, but has no fouls.
Anyone got a stream for the fight? Pacquiao vs. Bradley?
They have 12 of them.
Beefeater martini desert dry shaken with a twist
Same drink since college - Michian 1991
Tonight: Australian rules football - Esenden versus Sydney
At Manly Beach in Austalia today, so this is technically my Sunday afternoon drinking thread.
Jack and coke around a bonfire. Beautiful night in metro Detroit.
has anyone of you, not considered a smoker, ever bummed a cig from a girl just to start conversation? about to.
Don't start coughing on the first puff.
No, you'll cough your lungs out.
Great Lakes Lake Erie Monster!
While I plan to enjoy Highland Park 12 year. Just the right amount of smoke.
Summit IPA. Fight Time.
Let's go Juwaun?
Nice lil IPA by Lagunitas. Only 6.5%
Yeah heat! Proving all the naysayers wrong.. I love the underdog story.
Drinking some old Sam Adams nutmeg flavored beer (from the winter)
How the hell are the Heat the underdog?
Exactly my thoughts! I figured the aging Celtics were the underdog....If the Heat somehow beat the Thunder then we can say the underdogs pulled it off....but I'm taking the Thunder in 5
I'd still consider the Thunder as underdogs in the Finals.
Because everyone always says the same thing - Lebron is overrated and that the Heat never win close games in the playoffs when facing elimination. Well guess what, this was a close game in the playoffs while facing elimination, and they rose up to the challenge. The connotation with the celtics though was that they know how to be champions and could win the series. So the Heat proved the naysayers wrong.
Conference finals against an old Boston team are likely to look a bit different than NBA finals against OKC.
Certainly this is a better outcome than flaming (again), for the Heat, but the team that was built to win "multiple championships" has won as many as I have.
No proving the naysayers wrong, yet. They must win the championship for that, and IF they do, remember, they were supposed to.
Freddie Roach has no idea where pacman is??
well now we know.
He is going to be off tonight. I think he goes down on points.
So I poured some Jim Beam in a glass of Sprecher root beer. I solve problems.
Not shit! I have the Gout!
On the couch getting ready for pacquiao.
Start a Pacquaio-Bradley Open thread?
Had a Ruination to get started, but finished the evening with a Whitsun and Sixpoint Apollo. I didn't dig the Apollo like I thought I would...
I can never find anyone nearby carrying Whitsun except in single cans. I'd sell my left nut for a reliable source of sixers.
Let's see... Started with frozen margaritas, then the lady made something with berries, ice, rum, and other goodness in a blender, and then I made a pitcher of mojito but swapped out the sugar with honey to be "healthy". And now, Coors Light.
Jack, pure iced tea, and a key lime, over ice.
Me and the wife finished off a bottle of Bella Petite Sirah! It was an '06 vintage! It was excellent! we went to a local concert at a coffee shop that lets you BYOB!
how do you feel about 2008 Willamette Valley Pinor Noir?
A nice $15.00 Pinot. Will not have the complex finish of a King of Estate "Domain" or a Domaine Serene "Evenstead Reserve"! These are your higher end $60 to $80 per bottle Pinots. My wife is more a fan of Pinot Noir. I like the bigger, drier reds!
You may want to try A to Z Pinot Noir in the $15 to $20 range. We both agree this is a very good Pinot for the price.
May be Charles Woodson will chime in! He's big into wines!!!!
Some shifty Family Fare shopper placed 2 Dirty Bastards in a 6 pack of Red's Rye and I was the lucky recipient. It was surprising when I got home, but I can't complain. I am now attempting to play NBA 2k12 under the influence on Xbox Live.
Needless to say my shot selection isn't the best. Even John Beilein thinks I should cool it on the threes.
How do you feel about the poet?
If anyone needs a pick me up after a rough night, or just wants a laugh, or has a minute or two to spare. Here is a video of Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Pepper's after the concert in Columbus.
After finishing the concert he throws some drum sticks into the crowd and then proceeds to turn his Michigan hat around and sing a brief rendition of the victors.
Shots of Soco with the roommate and watching the chapelle show and east bound and down
Anyone read the latest post on Tremendous blog. Interesting info with Mcquay/bailey recruitment!
Oberon followed by miller lite and crazy shots at a catered b day party
Drinking a keg of bud light with some friends. Side note, it's Kate Upton's birthday... So cheers to that.
Ended up playing Beerio-Cart with some Coors Light. Good beer for that game since it doesn't taste like much and you can slam it really quickly.
Started off with some Vuve and mimosas. tranferred to some Corona. Washed that down with a margarita. i capped it all with a bottle of Chard.
After that one, I'm wondering if we should start a Sunday morning hangover post with remedies - other than hair of the dog, because that sounds awful right now. I'm thinking bacon, but I'm afraid to stand up.
Taking a shower always significantly improves a hangover situation for me.
