I need an outlet. Sometimes I feel like I'm going to climb the walls. Thing is, there really isn't much I can do because of work and school, and since I'm now the sole provider for the household, there isn't much (if anything) I can afford. That's why I can't wait for the guys to take to the field. That always raises my spirits.  I hope you guys and anyone else that is struggling with mental issues continue to fight the good fight, and not succumb to the demons. RIP Mr. Williams, and thanks for the laughs. I'm sorry you weren't able to find the peace that you so deserved.

is the most understated problem with the mental health problem in this country. If you need serious help and are an adult with unrelenting responsibility, what do you do? You need money to get help but money can be one of the major problems leading to serious emotional problems. You need time but taking the time could significantly worsen your life conditions. Once again, what do you do? It is a conversation that really needs to happen in our country.

I would add that if you "come out" as having depression, anxiety, mental health issues then people react with ignorance.  Instead of helping, they act on their prejudices and make your life much more difficult.

There is a serious lack of understanding of these issues, largely because people are unwilling to have a dialogue.  This makes getting help much more difficult, because the consequences of getting help are often as bad as going untreated.  The results are many good people losing their lives or living in misery.  We're failing ourselves.  These are our relatives and friends and we're letting them down.

When you start adding poison to the equation that it is most dangerous. He battled drugs his entire life. Most of us, myself included with those who have been seriously depressed like this, can successfully navigate through it if left with just our own make up. Throw drugs and alcohol in the equation and all hell can break loose.

Exactly, I was lucky enough to failed in my suicide attempt back when I was in high school. I was lucky enough to have friends and family that cared enough about to get me help.

The world lost a comedic master. RIP.

Yes it can be. It's very common that the hopelessness and isolation involved with depression and suicide to be associated with everyday stressors like unemployment, family issues, and money. Obviously every person is different and we don't know Williams' medical history, but it wouldn't be surprising if money had something to do with it.

I don't even know where to begin with this one - "The World According To Garp", "Dead Poet's Society", "Mrs. Doubtfire" and many others, even going back to "Mork & Mindy", he was an incredible talent and even an inspiration for some of my own stylings in shows through the years. Growing up, I would watch him perform to get ideas. By 10 (the age I was when this came out), I could, and still can, do all of his radio bits from "Good Morning, Vietnam", I was that in awe.

A terrible loss indeed. RIP Robin Williams.

I absolutely loved him in films, all of those mentioned are great.  His stand up never really drew me in, as he just was too over the top, but he was a great one no question.  As someone who has had a family member commit suicide, I can say that it was harder on my family to deal with than a "normal death".  I still have trouble to this day forgiving my father for that truly selfish act, but that was the way he chose to go out.  In the end, it is just sad, as Williams still had great performances ahead of him.
