Firestarter was a kickin' song!
It's your time. Unfortunately, nothing can be done about it! Shook ones!
RIP to the ultimate dun. Infamous Mobb.
RIP to an official Queensbridge Murderer.
The whole band? Damn.
Will always be remembered for arguably the greatest hip hop song ever and one of the best hip hop albums ever.
Agreed. Smack Yo Bitch Up is a classic.
Prodigy, H A V O C, M O B B. Loved his grimey flow and those beats. I haven't listened to them in a while, because they're just too hardcore. That was a different time of my life. No doubt that he deserves his props. He produced a lot of classic tracks. Naggers know he was always the HNIC.
what
I thought Ron and Don were the HNIC?
I thought that was Joe Clark?
Democrats
I was about to say "WHAT?? They've been around this whole time servicing broadband deadspots out in the hinterlands? Incredible!"
I'm kinda disappointed. Prodigy was the first time I'd ever even heard of "online." It used to blink this big "NEW MAIL" sign in the upper right corner (with no voice-over ala AOL) that was just SOOOO exciting. Good times.
Uggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh
still around? They were my first dialup ISP, I think I found out about them while listening to the "Art Bell Coast-to-Coast" AM radio show.
Exactly my thoughts.
My thoughts too. I was thinking of the 24k connection...ha.
Respekt the old school muthas!
My AOL account dates back to 1990; twenty-seven years. Used to have a 2400 baud dial-up modem, and was really excited when I upgraded to 14400!
The Bene Gesserit didn't always belive in Mobb Deep, but I did.
Bravo, sir! I laughed awake my baby because of this.
is a huge loss man...
This is a beautiful eulogy. RIP.
I was a big MOBB fan, and that album dropped my sophomore year. At parties someone would always ask me who it was. One of the most underrated groups of my time.
I woke up with Drop A Gem On Em stuck in my head, so I listened to Mobb Deep all morning long. It was the first time in a while I had listened to them. Then I get on the tweeting twatters last night and see that Prodigy had passed. I figured he would not live too long given his struggles with severe sickle cell. Still sucks to see this.
RIP Prodigy.
I still bump H.N.I.C to this day.
he would have said Prodigy was his dog...
"When I was pushing weight, back in '88
You was a ballerina, I got the pictures I seen ya
Then you dropped "Shook Ones," switched your demeanor
Well, we don't believe you, you need more people."
...you guys don't want it with HOV
Ask Nas, he don't want it with HOV...NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
That verse of career ending magic cannot take away that The Infamous was a GREAT album.
A++ as Harbaugh would say and a staple of true east coast rap behind illmatic, Reasonable Doubt, Ready To Die, Life After Death, and Enter The Wu.
Read his book. He only did dance to be like micheal Jackson to get the ladies.
