OT: Rich Rodriguez' Home for sale at $1.9 million

Submitted by wresler120 on

Rodriguez finally got around to listing his York Township home at a small sum of $1.9 million.

It's a home for the well-heeled buyer with a taste for luxury. It features an in-ground pool and hot tub, a home theater and game room and an asking price of $1,895,000. It also boasts a "luxurious master wing with sitting room and private balcony (and) an exquisitely appointed bath that rivals any spa," according to the listing.

Do we have any takers here???

Good Luck selling your home Rich ..... this may take a while.

It has 3 cameras in the front, 3 in the middle, and 5 in the back.  Unfortunately, burglars in the midwest tend to come right at you up front, so with only 3 cameras on the first line, that leaves plenty of opportunity to go right through the front windows.

Nice house, but damn that place needs a lot of landscaping. They should have put $100k into the landscaping before putting it on the market.

I would consider buying it if I were still in Ann Arbor.

I would also need an income to support a $1.9M home, but that's beside the point.

I probably shouldn't respond positively to a -1/Flamebait post, but I've done dumber things on this 'blog, so why not?

I pretty much agree with you. It looks like a standard bloated McMansion to me (which I guess makes it a mansion). There's mismatching of elements all over the place. The cabinets alone are evidence that the builder had no imagination.

That doesn't have to be the case. Maybe the next owner will realize that while it's not really decorated in his style, it's still a very nicely done home. Instead of going through the trouble of gutting it, such an owner might choose to just tweak certain aspects of the motif over time until it becomes a style more in line with his personal tastes.

I could be wrong, but it's probably not possible to pick a worse time to sell a million dollar home anywhere in the US, let alone southeastern Michigan.  Mortgage rates are going to increase very soon, which has this funny effect of eliminating entire swathes of prospective buyers and taking comparable (alternative home) prices way down town.

Oh well, Rodriguez will probably land a decent paying job next year for $2 million or more, line up much smaller crib (to the chagrin of his better half) and declare a loss on the home sale in Michigan.

Still, that a McMansionesque house for a small family of 3.  It must have seemed like a good idea at the time (early 2008)?  I bet they're glad to be out. Probably not many good conversations or positive thoughts/memories inside those walls.

The Detroit media will not allow this transition to happen.  RR has no chance to sell that house.

Sorry, guys.  You can't have it.  I just finalized the purchase.

On the bright side, I'll give you a thorough tour for just $1.9 million.  I'll even cook you dinner.
