OT: Ole Miss assistant recruiting director resigns

Submitted by Optimism Attache on

Came a day after Texas parted ways with a DB coach who was previously Ole Miss' recruiting coordinator. Ole Miss says it is not related to the NCAA investigation. I have no evidence or insider info. I'm merely sharing this to stoke wild speculation, fair or not.

This is very troubling indeed. But what's more troubling by far is that Jim Harbaugh has not yet been drawn-and-quartered for suggesting he take his team on a free vacation over spring break. That type of abuse of the rules simply cannot be tolerated...

What fucking hypocrisy and outright lying thru their asses.  2 current/former ole miss recruiting coordinators both quit within days of each other and within days of ole miss admission of improprieties, but of course they are not related at all.  The rest of us non-ess eee see fans do have a brain.

Everywhere the fighting Kiffins go they have sudden, unprecedented recruiting success, followed by years of damage control and firings for all the cheating they did to bring about said success. Rome wasn't built in a day. If you see Rome suddenly pop up overnight, I guarantee corner were cut.

this year in Ann Arbor? While I generally agree with your sentiment, we should refrain from absolutes until more is known. Hopefully the process here bears out what has been long rumored in terms of Ole Miss and they get what is coming to them. It will be fascinating to watch the extent of Skankey's hypocrisy should solid evidence arise of pay for play. Will his faux-rage and concern for the kids apply?

Is like that outgoing loud huge douchey "bro" who talks shit non-stop but the second somebody steps up and challenges him he whines and cries and looks for any possible excuse. This war vs the SEC is going to be so fun. If Anybody can topple their domination of college football it's Harbaugh.

Will come out of the woodwork and shed

some light on the situation?  I'm surprised it

doesn't happen more often.

I want to hear and see on video actual bagmen

offering $$$ to recruits in a shamless and non-chalant

manner and get busted for it.

Word from Ole Miss camps seem to say it's not recruiting related, he was sleeping with a softball player.

Just the rumors though.

and the fact she just happened to be a spouse of someone else on the staff were grounds for dismissal, I know of a rather successful head coach in the same league that would have not made it past assistant level.

I won't give names, but his initials are Les Miles.

BULLSHIT.

Louisville should have like a 5 year tourney ban.

Hey hookers and stuff, no biggie, one year ban.

NCAA better up that or it's a joke.

I'm amazed that some programs still exist.

How Miami and UNC (who I am a nominal fan of) still have programs - and now Louisville

Basically just fucking cheat, nothing happens.

News of Wenzel's resignation comes a day after Texas defensive backs coach Chris Vaughn parted ways with the Longhorns. Vaughn was defensive backs and recruiting coordinator at Ole Miss from 2008-11, the period from when many of the alleged NCAA sanctions stem.

Clearly, being the recruiting coordinator at Ole Miss is a "live fast, die hard" sort of opportunity, suitable to the thrill-seekers among prospective employees of Division I football programs. Having access to that Cayman Islands accounts helps attract people anyway, I bet.
