Board. Purdue could really be a trap game for ND. Purdue returns almost everyone from last year and ND will be playing less than a week after flying back from Ireland. Factor in the reduced preparation time, injuries, suspensions, and early season adjustments with Purdue's returning experience and it might be worth betting against the Irish.

high couch sitters are dangerous do not trivialize it please.  when is society going to realize the danger presented by high couch sitters and establish a war on drugs so we can spend enough money to eradicate them?

no, it means that when someone commits a crime a week before the season begins, or while the season is occuring, the obvious punishment is to have them sit out of games

when someone commits a crime 5 months before the season starts there are a lot of ways to be punished - im not saying floyd shouldnt have been punished, but its obvious that cierre would miss games in this case [i said cierre instead of wood because it would have been wood would lol]

you guys do realize that toussaint may not even sit out a game right? get off your high horse already because this happens at every school

If I remember correctly, ND recruited him as a DE but I don't think he's quite broken onto the depth chart there yet, at  least not meaningfully. In the few games I did see involving the Irish last year, I think Utupo was on special teams mainly. That might not sting as bad as not having Cierre Wood, but still, it is starting to look like it could be a rough season if the injuries and suspensions pile up.

As for Wood, I think Golson handing it to Riddick on rushing plays probably still works against Navy, but this makes their game against Purdue look a little more intriguing.

Kelly is in deep shit this season. A loss to Navy or Purdue could leave them 1-3 after Michigan with Oklahoma, Stanford, Miami, and USC left on the schedule.

It's a never-ending story for Notre Dame, but they could be better than last year and still be looking for a new coach in December.

Haha. Yeah, but our coaches are better, and will be recruiting even better (hard to imagine because they're already dominating) so I don't want ND to be too bad. Their fans need to keep getting their hopes up before we crush them every year. I definitely don't want the rivalry to turn into this...

I guess I'm in the opposite camp. I would prefer to not play Notre Dame every year in favor of playing a team from outside the Midwest each year, like Ohio State does each season. A home and home with Texas would rock, but I also want three tuneup wins each year before the conference schedule starts.
