Some places list him as a starter, others as 2nd string. I expect he was supposed to be on the field a lot. Linebacker/defensive line was suppose to be a strength of MSU and their secondary a weakness.

Last year against us he was credited with 10 tackles and he finished the year tied for 3rd in tackles on MSU with 81.

Henderson who is also injured led MSU in tackles with 96.

late replying to this, but yeah he's a huge loss for us.

He's our starting (only?) hybrid space player type object. Moved from safety this offseason. We played some 4-2-5 on Friday night with him as one of the 2 LBs. Once he went out it was more traditional LBs (Haladay, Brule) along side STARTING LB BEN VANSUMEREN.

I'm more worried though about the loss of Xavier Henderson, because I think Grose is bad, so losing the one good Safety and relying more on the guy I'm not too high on is scary.

Definitely not fun to lose your two most vocal leaders on defense in the 1st half of the 1st game.

Thank you. I wondered the degree of seperation from Percy. In the 90's, my sister was a server at The Olive Garden at State and Eisenhower. After a Michigan game, a group of guys that ended up including Percy Snow was assigned to her section. They were the most polite, thoughtful, and well tipping patrons she had that day/week/month. My sister joked wirh them that her little brother would kill her for waiting on Spartans..Anywho...

Fast forward a few years. Percy is in the NFL, and came to the UM/MSU game as a fan. He went to Olive Garden, hoping to find my sister. She had since moved on, but the hostess was good friends with my sister. He had brought a signed Percy Snow trading card for her yo give to me. And I still have it.

(And no, because I know you guys, she assures me that they didn't hook up in any way.) CSB!

Don't like it.  Don't like it at all.  Their defense was already shit - wanted to beat them down at full strength.  Don't want any Sharty excuses.

Also shitty for the players.  Work all off season waiting to play 12 or so games and then miss out.

I remember how shitty I felt for Ronnie Bell last year.

Tough break for Sparty - these are two versatile, good tacklers on their D. Maybe 2 of the 4 most important players on that D.  Never want to see any injuries, so Godspeed to both guys,

I peeped UM and MSU schedule, and state has a bye the week before the Paul Bunyan game on 10/29 for the second straight year.

I don’t know why, but when a player of a hated opponent goes down there’s a little voice in me that says “good”, but that only lasts a millisecond. Then I go all human and realize these kids make so many sacrifices to be on the team, to be on the field. Getting injured is an obvious risk for a football player but it stinks when a season-ending injury happens. I feel badly for Darius Snow.
