only wanted ruffles potato chips and French onion chip dip for mother's day. Pregnancy hormones are weird, y'all.

over on him forever. Fortunately for him, it's still early enough to still go buy her something more substantial (an upgrade to Better Made™ brand potato chips, for example, might be a good start) and get himself out of potential lifelong deep doo-doo.

Some of us are lucky enough to be married to women who don't particularly care about gifts/things. I've been married a decade and we've bought each other maybe one gift each over that time. It's not gonna change today on her first Mother's Day either. My wife is pretty awesome.

Did you get this in writing or somehow document the request? I mean, it would at least give you something to speak from when, in the future, this situation is brought up and used against you.... just saying. It's better to have it and not need than to need n not have.

Happy Mothers Day!!!! Have a Blessed Day and enjoy the family. You deserve all the adoration you receive on this day.

Yes indeed, without mom, none of us would be here to laud / bitch about games and so forth, and perhaps even some of our moms have had to sit through one of those rants, so they definitely deserve a special day.

We're starting with breakfast over here, then my wife and I will be visiting her mom for lunch, and then we'll come home and I'll make the lasagna that she requested for dinner.

Happy Mother's Day to the MGoMoms!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there. My wife is getting some flowers, a bracelet and some "art" that my six year old prepared. Probably HGTV all day, too.

My husband just went to get me a diet coke and some bagels. The only other thing I want is for my kids to be nice to each other. Is that too much to ask?

Someone thinks "Diet Coke and some bagels, and kids be nice to each other" is low maintenance??  It's low cost, I'll admit.  But if I asked my family to buy me a bunch of roses and a pair of earrings, they would probably consider that much easier to arrange.  :-)

Fortunately, kids grow up.  I watched my youngest graduate from high school this week, and my four offspring will be at my house later this week for a belated Mother's Day celebration.  And they'll be getting along with each other!  Life is good.

I got an orchid lei shipped in from Hawaii ($30 for the flowers, $50 for shipping); made cheddar cheese biscuits from scratch for breakfast; and offered to make her favorite pasta dish (pasta con sarde) for dinner.

Oh, and I cleaned up after myself. That's probably the most important bit.

And to the DADS that did our part in impregnating those lucky mothers!

Wait, sorry. Wrong day to be about me.

Thanks to our moms and the moms of our kids.
