OT: Friday night football humor/what are you drinking thread

Submitted by turtleboy on

It's Friday, and it's dark, cold, and grey outside, amongst other things. Figured the board could use a good laugh to brighten things up and kickstart the opening of our collective livers workweek. Michigan gets a nod, thankfully that's the only association we get with an article that hits oh-so-close to the mark.

I've got a 4 pack of Stella Artois and a 12 year old bottle of Dewars. Cheers!

Nice, I also started reading the blog in 2005 but didn't create an account until recently. I can distinctly remember becoming an mgoblog addict following the Manningham miracle against Penn St. Things have come a long way since then. I thought it was especially hilarious how everyone tried to comment "first" on content and also how different the posting system was.

Crap.  Cleaned out the fridge in advance of the storm, and out of beer.  Doh!  Oh well.

A big tree fell in my driveway wiping out some smaller trees and branches from another tree.  But, because we left there weren't any cars parked there, and everything missed the house.  Got lucky on that one.

My daughter and I are headed for the NW game next week and had the choice of the Slippery Rock game or Michigan-MSU hockey.  Which one would you guys go to?  Does it matter that she's never seen the b-ball team live, but saw us lose to OSU at Yost last year?

Go half and half. I used to do it all the time as a student (which was obviously easier with discounted prices/free basketball tickets at times). But still, you get to experience a little of each and enjoy a nice 10-15 minute walk through Ann Arbor the night before gameday (a unique experience of the quiet before the storm, in my opinion).

Any Yoopers on this here thread? I know that it's most MSU territory up there, but you never know...

Was up there last week and got a variety pack of Keweenaw Brewing Co. I find it quite agreeable.

Jameson and a couple Lagunitas Maximus brews. 6 month old puppy won't stop peeing on furniture. Was just neutered about 10 days ago - Figured that would help but doesn't appear to. Any tips?

Had the same problem, albeit with a younger puppy ~3-4 months old. I put a rope with bells around the door handle and rang the thing everytime I took her out to. Eventually she learned to ring the bells when nature was calling and that was that.

Crating. Dogs like to have a den, it's natural for them, and they instinctively don't mess in their dens. You can regulate when they go by crating. Give them crate time (covered by a blanket) typically at night, and as soon as you take them out they'll be ready to go. Then they have no ammo left to defile the couch with.

a cabernet.  needed to breath.  uncorked it and went bow hunting.  came home and helped the kids with barn chores.  finished second glass and now that it's had a chance to breath, it's quite good.

I am in some kind of surly mood. Aaaaand I can't drink tonight until such time as the kids are in bed. They get all creeped out after watching those unholy Kids In Charge videos at school. I don't even have any more decent whiskey in the cabinet, so I might have to chill some vodka, unless my wife has used it to make homemade vanilla extract or otherwise emptied the bottle of Chopin for some reason other than pouring herself a drink. I might have to just drink tequila shots since I've got a decent silver tequila in the cabinet, but I won't really enjoy it. On cold, gray nights, I want whiskey or whisky damn it. Nothing else will make me happy. Well, come to think of it, I can think of at least one thing that would make me happy, but I'm more likely to find an unknown bottle of The Macallan in my liquor cabinet than I am to find myself doing that.

to paint an inaccurate picture.

3 really attractive wives (and their hubbies) in my kitchen, 2 of the women M grads, sipping wine, doing shots of apple pie, and feeling the weekend whilst looking scrumptious.

Nothing creepy meant. Other than I would like to bone each of them silly.

Had my first Founders Harvest Ale tonight.  Very, very good, but pretty hard to find down here in the DC area.

Tomorrow, I will be cracking open a couple of Zombie Dusts thanks to a friend back in the Midwest who hooked me up. That beer is simply the truth.
