All this time I had no idea who your avatar was. Then the guy called you kanye. Funny thing about answers is they only lead to more questions. The one I'm thinking of now is, why?

Still don't know how he got caught. He's a chameleon.

Hittig a guy from the side while he is faced off iwth your buddy is just pussy shit. Bottom line is both these young people have serious character flaws.

Hitting a guy and girl is equally bad. It's sexist and not fair to the York victim to say that that incident didn't matter as much because he wasn't a woman.

... is a sucker punch. I don't see it any better or worse.

Where did you see that it was a sucker punch?

One difference is that if I see you hitting a guy I will watch it if I see you hitting a girl I will stop it. But, yea it isn't fair...

Please stop being so incredibly stupid

Looks like they always give guys second chances.
"Representing the University of Michigan is a privilege and, while second chances are certainly deserved, sometimes it’s better for everyone if that happens somewhere else."

... he'd be kicked off the team. As is, he's staying in school, can qualify for "financial aid", and can return next year. In other words, "enjoy your redshirt". Meanwhile, the girl has 4 broken bones in her face.

Yes it is a sucker punch to an innocent person. It isn't a bar fight were the other guy is throwing punches back. Both are dick moves and thug behavior. A football player tends to be much stronger than a normal guy and a woman. Not sure why you would give less sympathy to a male victim of a sucker punch than a female victim. I don't hit girls. I don't hit guys.

With respect to the victim in the York case. That situation was heated, it looked that way from the begining. I believe York's actions were definitely wrong, but there isn't any reason the victim should have been confident walking through that situation after smack talking was already done. Absolutely no way he should have done that with his hands in his pockets! Please be aware of your surroundings, and please learn to read situations!

There is video and the girl (who has some history of wrongdoing) supposedly slapped and spit on Mixon.
After Mixon's lawyer saw the video they filed a suit against the woman.

I think it could be interesting how different the public reaction might be if a guy slapped and spit on Mixon, instead of a woman.

FWIW, I though Joe Mixon was the best running back in the class. Not that it should change how the legal process is handled or anything, but that's the kind of talent that OU and college are losing because of stupid behavior.

Damn, OU is getting blasted this off season on the PR front. Mixon punching a woman in the face, trying to get DBG eligible after his altercation with the woman back up in Mizzou, and that LB who's figthing the sexual assualt allegations. It's not exactly Boomer Sooner* these days.
*I don't really know what "Boomer Sooner" means or how to use it appropriately in a sentence.

The Michigan Difference!
August 19th, 2014 at 8:53 AM ^
this post started, but it is an interesting comparison. I think bottom line is that we've got two similar cases of kids that made a mistake and schools reacting to it a bit differently. Hopefully they both use this as a wake up call and learn from their mistakes.
