The Hoyas embarassed America this week by getting bitch slapped by the Chinese, however I blame the coaches. The Hoyas are used to the US college game in which this type of brawl would result in potentially season ending suspensions. They should've prepared them for the reality of China which is to say that when shit goes down it GOES DOWN. This is no where close to being the first time a foreign team played in China and a fight broke out, and every time the Chinese go all the way. The guys should've been prepared for this.

From that first photo it looks like we're spreading goodwill to literally hundreds of Chinese with this tour.  At that rate, they're sure to love us by the year 3000.  Looks like a great fight though.  Can the NCAA suspend players for fighting overseas?

The first picture looks exactly like a splash page from The Death Of Superman. They're even holding their hands the same way. Epic. I will retreat to my mother's basement now...

Lots more to this than meets the eye.

Apparently China was calling intentional fouls on G'Town players for 5 straight trips, resulting in ~4 FTs per trip (and they had 30-35 FTAs vs 5-7 for G'Town). And then:

"Two minutes into the fourth, they were pressing full court, trapped one of our guards (I forget who it was), and then must have pushed or punched him on the ground after he made the outlet pass, because then there was a shoving match and then a bit of a fight, and then the whole thing set off. He tried to get away as quickly as possible as the Chinese players sort of converged on him, and then benches cleared, and then people on the Chinese bench started picking up chairs. Everyone on the other side of the court started fighting as well. Brawl spread all over the court, and then off the court."

and I'll sleep pretty soundly tonight, too.

There's video, first hand accounts by a spectator and a reporter. China's at fault. Try not to cry too much for their poor souls.

Let's not nail ourselves to the wrong cross, here. Every once in a greeeeaaat while, it's not America's fault. And I say that with as much sarcasm as I can possibly muster.

I suspect that you routinely sleep well at night.  /s

I have not blamed anybody.  I say this for a second time.

If this is all the evidence you need to reach a hard conclusion, you aren't a very deep thinker.

...first hand accounts. The message board post is from a Hoyas supporter who was at the game. The WaPo article is by Gene Wang who is traveling with the team and was in attendance.

Both accounts indicate the Chinese team were the aggressors. Not sure who pissed in your Wheaties.

I reread Wang and if Wang says the Chinese were at fault, you'll have to show me. I can't find it.

The "spectator" is a Georgetown fan who admits, more than once, to bias, and mostly complains about the officiating.  And you think you can reach a fair conclusion from that?
