Arkansas AD Jeff Long will meet with the media at 9:45 p.m. tonight to discuss the Bobby Petrino situation.
OT: AR Coach Bobby Petrino - Idiot
It comes out that his motorcycle wreck a few days back was not a solo wreck - a 25 year old blonde staffer was riding as well. Oh, and both the University and Petrino himself tried to sweep that little tidbit under the rug. Oh, and Petrino is married if course... And the staffer is engaged.
Thankfully both are without serious injuries...but it looks like Petrino's motor cycle wreck will now turn into a train wreck for him.
I'm not sure why the University is taking this on. This seems to be between Bobby Petrino, the woman, and their respective spouses and spouses-to-be.
Usually bosses can't date, or be in a relationship, with subordinates. This would fall under that as she was recently hired as an employee within the football program.
He may have violated his employment contract that all employees sign with the University.
Update: He was placed on administrative leave for further investigation.
it has been reported that Petrino's contract includes a morals clause. I'd say the married head coach hiring a betrothed staffer with whom he is having an extra-marital affair falls well within the scope of said clause.
Well, probably becasue he lied to his boss about the accident (and the poilice??), hired a woman he was having an affair with, continued the affair while he was her boss and lied about it.
I think that is worth looking into if you are his emplyer.
If you are willing to let your school issue a false press release on your behalf about this incident and then only days later tell them "my bad", I would have to think this same person would be a bit slow in reporting other things such as potential NCAA violations. Petrino was known as a mercenary, but now that is added to questionable ethics which makes a seemingly poor combination for someone representing a public institution.
Were they having sex on the Motorcycle at the time of the accident? Maybe he was giving her a RIDE home? Only kidding, fry him!
For Petrino's family and her fiancée...sucks that his face is all over the place now. Poor guy
at least this saved him a life time of infedelity.
Did anybody catch the broad's Wedding GuestBook before it was taken down? There were some fantastic comments.
Care to share? Inquiring minds want to know.......
Thank You OMG!
"If you dont mind a short guy hit me up on Twitter-Nick Saben"
My personal fav but I'm literally crying I'm laughing so hard at some of the comments on the wedding book.......
I know it's not really funny, but a commenter exclaiming righteous indignation at the term "broad" whilst simultaneously using a Jessica Rabbit avatar made me laugh.
Must change. Thank you very much.
In all fairness, Jessica Rabbit is a dame, not a broad. I think you're in the right on this one.
Must change. Thank you very much.
My great aunt still uses the term "broad," but she grew up in Brooklyn in the 30s/40s so anything goes, I guess.
She also carries an "emergency corkscrew" and wears a watch where each digit is "5", so, y'know.
Sounds like she has earned the right, for sure! but not guys who make that reference because the woman was half of a relationship between two adults.
I'm not usually all PC..broad is one of those words that bugs me. I got called sweetheart once (by a condescending, minimum wage clerk at a beer store; me customer, him "the help")...don't EVER do that to a woman who *might* be having a "bad" week...and you never know when that might be.
He probably just happened to be riding his motorbike on the same day that an attractive 25yr old blonde woman needed a ride home. That's all, I'm sure.
I should get a motorcycle....
You mean an attractive 25 year old blonde woman who he had just hired... Still, a crazy coincidence.
"Honey, listen I can explain...."
Gee, this doesn't at all fit the stereotype of a redneck SEC coach.
Only a redneck would cheat? Les, is that you?
Why is he an idiot? Sure she's a bit skeletor looking, especially when spiking a volleyball but for a 50-something coach, he's doing really well for himself.
These press conferences are brutal. I enjoy it less when it's not Gene Smith at the podium.
The AD just put Petrino on administrative leave. The main reason is that Petrino was not forthcoming with information to AD Long and the media.
My guess is that you can add Mrs Petrino to the list of people ol' Bobby was not forthcoming with about that little fender bender.
My guess is that she'll put him on "administrative leave" as well.
Poor guy...the grass was greener on the other side.
Unfortunately, the turns were a little sharper.
Say what you want about Dave Brandon, but at least we know that he'd NEVER hire a Bobby Petrino type.
So, uh, he's the next Ole Miss coach?
He could always go back to Louisville. I'm sure Rick Pitino could refer him to a good marriage counselor.
...then definitely a good restaurant backroom.
Was it his daughter? I mean, it's Arkansas we're talking about.
Apparently happens with so many if these guys in power. WV alumni here say RR had relations with coeds all the time and the UF alumni ALL say the same thing - Meyer was cheating on his wife and also his wife was cheating on him(awesome). They suggest the reason he left was to try and save their marriage because you know he is deeply religious.
I guess as long as you hear things then trashing the reputation of people you've never met is OK in my book.
The only reason I even bring that point about having proof is that EVERYBODY up here in Ohio has been talking about TampaBlue and the numerous affairs he is having with everyone he has ever known, gone to school with or lived nearby.
I knew you'd be ok with me posting this.
First of all what I stated is not anything that hasn't been posted here before about Meyer or RR. Feel free to scan through past blog entries to familiarize yourself.
Second I agree if it was just 1 or 2 people but every UF alumni who actually follows football says the same thing from people in their 20's to ones in their 60's. And also former players as well(these guys are still connected you know) ALL say the same unprompted response. Where there's smoke there's fire.
Am I right in assuming you are one of those people that believe our senators are all righteous and honest even though EVERYBODY says they take bribes? But wait there's no proof so it must not be true and no one must speak of it until there is. If you are then I apologize for insulting your morality. On the other hand, if you HAVE ever passed on any speculation ever in your life then I have to assume you are THAT GUY.
Think about it if everyone in Ohio was talking about me then there's a really good chance that it's true.
Unfounded and unsourced character assassination followed up by your feelings on our political landscape.
How do you feel about religion? Might as well get all off-limit topics on the table in this thread.
Listen I am just giving a perspective on Meyer from the UF fan base down here. Only because he now is relevant to MICH football. I just though it would be of interest to this forum. I have no personal reason to slander him.
Like I said these ideas are not new to this forum. This is not out of the blue.
Let's end this - if you can honestly say you have never passed on information in your life without absolute proof to anyone (never gossiped) then I will admit you are the better man as far as that goes and respect that kind of self discipline. It would be impressive.
At Florida they weren't "huge". He'll be fine in Ohio.
That made me laugh.
Why not legit. He took a year off to try to piece their marriage back together. Like no one's ever done that before. What's the consensus theory? He took time off because the stress was too great at UF. So he goes to OHIO like you said with even more stress? Seems legit.
Uh... all coed universities have cords.
That he spent the year traveling the country with ESPN as a college football analyst.
with guys not in power. But at least with them we leave it to the people involved to work things out, instead of passing judgement about it on blogs and twitter.
...that I have not read before about RR doing coeds a WVU. And I'm fairly familiar with what is being posted. And after reading Three and Out I just don't see RR in that light.
I have heard both these rumors before and there are rumors floating around of a ton of other coaches. But the thing is, unless a Petrino-esque thing happens to them, they're always going to be just that, rumors. The sources of most of these rumors seem to be from the bitter fandoms that the coaches left behind or the bitter fandoms of teams that keep losing to the coaches. Because of that, they're hard to take seriously without proof.
If it happens that the rumors are right, rake them across the coals. Much like what we're doing to Petrino now. To do that to a family is crap. To do that to a fiance is crap. And they deserve all the crap being thrown their way. But spreading unsubstantiated rumors and gossip that are coming from people with grudges isn't that great either.
A turd in the punchbowl
She was helping with his Wonderlic test!
There was a girl I went to high school with who's last name was wonderlic... And yes she lived up to her last name lol
She assessed the aptitude of prospective employees for learning and problem-solving in a range of occupations?
Apparently this is more than just a person giving another person a lift.
Updated from the ESPN article: "Petrino apologized and said he had been concerned about protecting his family and keeping an "inappropriate relationship from becoming public."
Maybe these 2 people deserve each other.
Bobby Petrino: When he cheats on you, he keeps it on the DL. Because Bobby Petrino cares.
and there you have it folks...anither example of why riding on a motorcycle is not the appropriate place for "the reacharound"
Bobby Petrino must a) know a lot of bus drivers and b) be strong from throwing people.
The original version of his story was a pretty amusing read really. I was not aware that, whenever Bobby Petrino wrecked something, there was a woman in the vicinity who was willing to take him to the hospital personally. Obviously, this is one of those little-heralded perks of being the Razorbacks' coach.
The final quote from Petrino was pretty funny to me as well:
"I spent the day at the lake with my wife working. She works me hard when I’m up there."
I would imagine she will not be working him as hard for a long time now.
She is really damn hot though.
Please be sarcasm.
between ethics and SEC football.
From the guestbook...
What a strange way to dispose of your prostitute, Bobby. Call me next time for pointers.

He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. He's lucky he didn't sustain a life-threatening closed-head injury.*
*Yeah, I know real red-blooded American men don't wear motorycycle helmets because if they do the terrorists win.
Honest question...no joke. And was she hurt?
but apparently she wasn't hurt. She went to her car and drove home after the accident, while Petrino went to the hospital.
The only people who don't wear heats are those massive Harley riders with ZZ Top beards and some crotch rocket douchebags... Honestly the 400 pound Harley riders are the only ones who look good on a bike without one
He's gonna need to start wearing a helmet around the house. His wife probably has access to a 5 iron.
On a Hoover, the dirtbag is on the bottom.
Old joke. Seemed appropriate for Petrino.
This actually put a smile on my face. Bobby Petrino is an absolute piece of shit. Something like this couldn't happen to a better guy. I hope his wife takes him for all he's worth.
That girl looks familiar. I think I saw her on my last flight, first class...
Oh, nvm, that girl only rides coach.
You deserve to be upvoted with the old system for that.
This one wins the internet today.
What a huge fucking surprise that the guy who ditched the Atlanta Falcons in the middle of the season has wife-commitment issues too. I'm absolutely blown away. Shocked.
Understandably, Robert (Bobby) Addresses News Media Establishing Youngster's Existing Relationship.
All of the points!
Why would you even lie about this?
"One of my coworkers had always wanted to ride on a motorcycle, so I offered her a quick ride one evening so she could experience it. Sadly we wrecked."
That plays a lot better than the coverup. The cover up screams non innocent contact.
an inappropriate relationship with her. Maybe that means his wife and or the AD knew about the prior affair, and if they found out her name, it would be obvious that it wasn't innocent.
My guess is that Mrs Petrino was already not a happy gal over this new employee so reporting her on the bike would not be cool on the homefront. Hence the seeminly needless lie.
My guess is that he wasnt lying to save his job....he was lying to save his marrage.
I wonder if the video of her "interview" will ever be on the internet.
Does this really surprise anybody? That guy has always been a snake, even by SEC standards. He left the Falcons to take the Arkansas job after less than a season. He was constantly flirting with other jobs while he was at Louisville (including a well-publicized secret interview with Auburn while Tommy Tuberville was still employed as their coach). It was only a matter of time before he started flirting with other women as well.
Would love to hear RDT's take on this. He probably has some inside info too. Petrino is such a douche.
Being the coach of an SEC football program and earning a seven-figure salary tends to help.
"I did NOT....have sexual relations with that woman."
That reminds me of one of the best stand up comedies...EVER. (please excuse the foreign language).
Jump to the 2:30 part for the Lewinsky reference...or just watch the whole thing!
