Listening to Bob Uefer on the radio when I was 7 or 8. Listening to his old game calls still gives me chills.

I am just being nitpickey, but when Arkansas hired Smith in 2012 he was on a 1 year interim contract.

On Will Carroll's twitter feed he asked someone identify the person, who looked like a coach, who was talking with Morris after the hit. That person was identified as Paul Schmidt Assistant Athletic Director/Head Football Athletic Trainer. I hope the link works fine.

Harsin had a 1.7 M buyout in his contract. The buyout was only effective if he left before 1/14/14 IIRC.

That was the one game that I kept thinking of. It seemed like Washington just dominiated Michigan on both sides of the ball. Howard could do nothing, and the d-line seemed to be in the backfield all game. Washington won a share of the national title that year.

This was the format for the playoffs from 1995 - 1997. IIRC, there was some complaining about the lower seeded team having the advantage of playing the first 2 games at home so they changed to a 2-2-1 format.

The AD just put Petrino on administrative leave. The main reason is that Petrino was not forthcoming with information to AD Long and the media.

A mascot is needed to keep kids interested in the team? Not parents taking them to games, watching the games on TV, listening to the games on the radio? I am a fan becasue of Bo, Ufer, Leach, and AC.
PAWS is cute, but I don't think parents are taking kids to Tiger games because their kids are begging to go in order to meet him. Verlander and Miggy probably have more to do with drawing kids to the park than PAWS.

So, we kind of have a feel for where they’re going, but the matter is not closed yet.
“If something else emerges, we will be flexible enough to see if it can fit into the Aug. 12 hearing, or if we need to schedule another date. So, we’ve been in constant contact with the NCAA and we’re in step with our timetable.”
That part of the quote leads me to believe that Smith feels like there is more stuff out there and that there is a good chance that the hearing may be rescheduled. IMO, he is treating this like a game of poker. He knows what cards he has and is playing everything close to the vest (pun not intended). The first bid was the self-imposed sanctions. Next we will see what happens with the next cards he is delt.

One of lasting images of the World Series celebration in 84 was of someone standing in front of a burning car with both hands raised in celebration.
