He strikes me as a supremely (over) confident guy that I'm sure assumed there could be nothing so wrong that he couldn't fix it with his outstanding coaching. He's certainly not the only leader to have that flaw. I've taken over some tire fires that I thought my "superior" management skills could overcome only to realize that the job was tougher than I imagined. If he waits for the right job (like Carroll or Saban did) then he'll be successful again.

Bert's days are numbered. Why wait until end of next year if you are Arkansas' AD? I can't see any other jobs potentially coming open this season unless we have some unexpected retirements. Or maybe our rival Rutgers decides to go in a different direction? (not gonna happen bit wouldn't that be interesting!?!)

After blowing a 24-0 lead I have to think their fan base is not pleased. That was the biggest meltdown I have seen in a while. We lost in ugly games, like Wisconsin 2010 where Rich Rod's fate was sealed because it looked so bad. Arkansas may be ready to make that change.

Chip Kelly's salary / buyout situation may become the object of some controversy - LINK

The 49ers likely would argue that Kelly should get whatever he was owed by the Eagles for 2017, and that any excess will be covered by his 49ers contract. The Eagles likely would argue that the 49ers contract supersedes the Eagles contract, and that as long as the 49ers are paying Kelly as much or more than he would have made with the Eagles, the Eagles owe Kelly nothing.

There have not been a lot of instances - maybe none, in fact - in the NFL where someone is fired from one team while still earning a check from the team before the current firing, #Weis'd

now you fire him!?! They'll be happy with Willy but I bet there are some upset folk in Oregon (maybe even Kelly, too). I firmly believe he was wanted back and would have gone if he knew he didn't have a job.

It would actually make sense, but I can't believe that Kelly's ego would let him go from NFL coach to college OC. Plus, I'm not sure I believe that Meyer would cede control of his offense to Kelly. Besides, what's in it for Kelly? Even if the OSU offense picks up (and maybe actually scores points in the CFP), would Kelly get the credit?

the National Anthem... Not the former QB who coached them into The Super Bowl. JH did not 'leave his heart in San Francisco'....he brought it to Ann Arbor and stuck it into the barely breathing Michigan football program!

I like Baalke - he delivered us from evil...  Sorry to see him go, his decisions in SF are legend and he provided endless entertainment.  Now the high powered comedy duo York&Baalke won't be quite as fun.

There are rumblings that Indianapolis may thinking of gettting rid of Pagano. If that happens get ready for the runaway train of Harbaugh to Indy to start.

Live just south of Indy. The temperature down here is that Pagano and Grigson are out the door, but all of us hard working beer drinking fans know HARBAUGH isn't happening (thank god), if there is any noise on that front it's simply the media being lazy and clickbaiting their own websites.

Jim doesn't have his own QB, and also that QB was pretty much injured for the biggest games this year. Also, the OL clearly is a notch below what is expected at Michigan, and has been for many years. Lack of a game-breaking RB -- though Evans may get there -- and WR has also hurt M. These things are on the previous regime.

That said, the staff went too conservative in the games we lost at critical times, and the playcalling and substitution patterns were head-scratching at times as well. Don Brown has also seemed to make some mistakes in big games, most notably changing scheme at the start of the Orange Bowl. Further, M still can't play well on the road in big games. Those things are on the staff.

So, as was said above, we can love our staff, but we can also think things need to get better. 10-3 is a nice record, but going to hell in our biggest games - and I include Iowa here -- is frustrating for sure. We'd be better off with a single OC and a more "clever" playcalling strategy. Still, we seem to fall back on the idea of "out-executing" our opponents at critical times, and we're not good enough to do that. It would be much more effective to put the players in situations where they can more easily succeed - as in, hey, let's run that sweep with our speed back instead of our bruiser.

In closing, why the hell can't we get Greg Frey back here from Indiana? I wouldn't be upset seeing Drevno hired away......
