It was just reported that OSU's Duane Washington is staying in the NBA draft. Now let's hope our guys decide they need another year of seasoning.

Ohio State's Duane Washington tells me that he is staying in the 2021 NBA Draft. Significant Big Ten news.

Welp....shoot. That makes us very, very young at guard but we should be alright with Branham coming in and being highly rated. Hopefully they’ll be able to compete with your guards.

CSB: I was on a flight yesterday, and a former buckeye player was seated near me.  I had on a Michigan polo, and when he saw it, he said, Go Bucks!  I reluctantly said, let me guess, you're from Ohio, then yelled back, Go Blue!  Then we both hear from the back of the plane a few loud Go Blues.  Then he yelled O, and yup, there are a few other Buckeye fans on the plane.  We both started laughing and then started talking about the rivalry.  Although he had an extreme dislike for that team up north, he told me he had a very healthy respect for the rivalry and that what makes our rivalry special and one of the best is the respect.  I told him, I just hope that one day we can get back to every game being a toss-up on who wins.

As for the fans, the majority of them are a-holes, but if a few of the tame ones come over here to participate.  Then I think it's awesome to get a perspective from the other side.  Some of the best conversations I have had about college football have been with Buckeye fans.

Not all their fans are horrible, to be sure. But I don't like them here. Complementing our basketball program feels backhanded cause we all know they cheat way better than us in football. Srsly sour grapes but why would another 5 star QB sign up for 2022 for a room that has several already in it

I suspect you don't like his politics, but his thoughts/analysis on sports is pretty sane and objective, even when talking about PSU.

Additionally, I thought he was pretty level-headed when talking about the Anderson scandal and injected some thoughts on how PSU did things wrong.

But then again, I don't read everything he posts, so I could be wrong.

That’s all I want. I like to pick the brains of opposing fans over on 11 Warriors and I usually like the posts from the informed UM fans. When I went to the ‘19 version of The Game I figured out the fan bases are quite similar. A couple asses, a few that needed every play to be a TD or a sack and then a lot of intelligent, good natured people who I enjoyed conversing with that ended up shaking my hand at the end of the game. Gotta get the perspective of both sides and I’m sure your MODS will gimme the ol’ boot if I step over the line.

Officer Asshat here, reporting for duty, Sir.

Not sure where your animosity comes from, I try to post respectfully on this board…I’m an OSU fan on a UM blog, after all. If posting an opinion from another viewpoint is “trolling”, then you’re the problem, not me. You have every right to disagree, but calling someone a “troll” (or “asshat”), isn’t the best way to go about having a dialogue. Their are a lot of posters on here I enjoy reading, you, not so much.

I’d be perfectly happy to have Rob F or any of the mods take a look at my posting history.. I’d put my bet on them not having any issues. If they do, send me to Bolivia and I’ll keep my $5 moving forward. I mostly stay away from commenting on anything other than OSU topics, or fun OT threads.

Have a nice day, seems like you need one.

You’re ridiculous. Why are you saying a team that lost to a 15 seed in the tournament, by the way is only like the 9th time that’s ever happened in the history of the NCAA tournament is a very good team?? Michigan is ascending while OSU is a middle of the road team. They just lost their best player and you mean to tell me you don’t think Michigan is head and shoulders better than them with the recruiting class coach Howard has put together. OSU is not recruiting at the level of Michigan in basketball. They are killing it in football but that’s a different story. I’ve been watching college basketball for 30+ years and gamble on several games and am quite good at it as a matter of fact. You don’t have to pretend that they’re a good team because you’re scared it will bring Michigan bad luck. I’m not superstitious like you or secretly a Buckeye fan like you seem to be. I don’t get why because they beat Michigan in the B1G tournament that means they will be successful this coming year. Oregon State won the PAC 12 tournament last year. We’re they a better team than UCLA?? Baylor lost to Oklahoma State. Was Oklahoma State better than Baylor?? One game doesn’t define how good a team is. Look at the entire body of work. If you want to bet this years OSU win total and or how far they make it in the tournament against what Michigan does I will gladly take your money. Michigan is going to be hanging banners while OSU will be lucky to compete in the B1G. Don’t be scared of success because OSU beats Michigan’s ass every year in football. Howard is an up and coming coach who is going to have a lot of success. Probably the best hire the school has made in the last 20+ years in any sport. Enjoy the success and root for Michigan to do big things especially against its biggest rival because Howard is not going to be at Michigan forever. The NBA will be calling even more than they did this off season the more experienced he gets and when his kids graduate it’s quite clear that he will make the leap to the best basketball league in the world. Hopefully he will have won a national championship by then. I am also willing to bet that the next coach of Michigan basketball will not be able to reach the heights that Howard will. Zeroskie is your intelligence. You can pick your 5 best bets every week against mine and I guarantee I will smoke you all year like a swisher sweet. I’m willing to let my money and basketball handicapping to do my talking. Are you??

Just be careful with this sentiment. It was not long ago OSU basketball was playing for national championships, and they are adept at putting a damper on UM's hot streaks.

UM basketball is having better success at the moment, but OSU historically is a very good program and they will be again. This is coming from a diehard UM fan and season ticket holder.

I don’t think he’ll be drafted in the 1st, but he had a terrific G-League combine that got him invited to the main combine, where he continued to perform well.  He looks likely to get drafted — more likely in the 2nd half of round 2 than Poole’s range — and an additional year of school was unlikely to help his draft stock any more as he’d be a senior.

If he really is staying in the draft, that is a big time blow to OSU and a really nice boost for Michigan as OSU was one of the favorites in the B1G this next year.  I was always extremely impressed with Duane's game and toughness.  He covered up for a lot of shortcomings last year's OSU team had, and he always came to play against Michigan.  This could be a "careful what you wish for" thing where now OSU gets some kind of transfer player from this and/or someone else really takes advantage of a huge uptick in usage, but I really have a hard time seeing that happen in this case.  That guy meant a lot to that team.

Definitely understand what you mean on being careful what you wish for, but at the same time, whatever guy steps in to replace Washington can’t do much more damage than Washington did, because Washington did A LOT.

He played like a lottery pick when he went up against Michigan. Just chucked up threes whenever he wanted and nine times out of ten, he’d hit them. I’ll take my chances on whoever they roll out next.
