Meantime, Mike Leach pulled a Mike Leach, following a thrilling win with an absolute turd of a loss to a shitty team. So sick of those who claim he’s a genius. He’s a gimmick.

Lincoln Riley missed his chance to jump to the NFL.  Great offensive mind and could have hired a solid NFL defensive staff to manage that side of the ball.

Big 12 plays no defense, but now his overall coaching ability will be questioned to the point where the NFL jump will be tougher.

All the Riley > Harbaugh folk need to shut it.  Michigan in any other division besides the SEC West (Bama) or B1G East (OSU) would almost certainly have 2 or more playoff appearances under Harbaugh.

Did I hear right? First time beating Oklahoma at home since 1960?
If we’re rounding off numbers to the nearest hundred years, that’s a century ago.

They don't have the OL of the past half decade nor the transfer QBs. Rattler might be really good at some point, but he's still a freshman. The defense is still the same--soft and mistake prone. At some point it isn't the coordinator you bring in, but the head coach who doesn't give a shit about it.

For the first time in his head coaching career, Lincoln Riley is going to have to do something other than just be an OC. I'll be very curious how he reacts to adversity. I think they lose next week to Texas and at least 2 more this season.

Whatever Harbaugh's issues, he was able to take the shit of last September and grind out 9 wins. They weren't all pretty, but that's what good coaches do.

The media predicted MichIvan to win the B10 prior to last season (not sure why).  Still, if you want to give Harbaugh credit for getting the team turned around after a brutal September (Army, Wisconsin), you should at least ask why the team looked so damn awful for the first month of the season.

An excellent point. I've mentioned multiple times that all the data points to Harbaugh being a good, but not transcendent coach which is what Michigan fans thought they were getting 6 years ago. Last year was a microcosm of that. Michigan was bad in September. And yet after the Wisconsin game, they found a way to go 7-2 with a tight loss to Penn State and, in what is now a tradition, the loss to OSU. Mediocre coaches would have let that spiral out of control to go 7-5, 6-6 or worse.

I don't know why the team was bad in September. The most damning indictment of the QB whisperer is that the QBs don't seem very good. The offense has most recently seemed a hodgepodge of ideas as opposed to something cohesive. The defense is what it is--a unit that will always have great statistics because they beat up on bad offenses, but will struggle when they play against better talent.
