Northwestern RB Cam Porter and offensive lineman Zachary Franks suffer season-ending injuries during Fall Camp.

As noted in the recent "The Enemy Ranked," Cam was going to get significant snaps this year as NW is down almost no RBs.

Can never have enough good running backs.

He is, but don’t take this as secret gloating for another kid getting injured. He’s still working his way up to even be listed on the depth chart. But since he’s been on the squad I do follow Northwestern like I do Michigan. That side of the family really got the demigod genes. Hoping they’re just dormant for my kids lol.

Oh wow, that's a massive injury for them. I thought Porter was gonna be a breakout guy in the B1G this season. For a team that always struggles offensively, really hurts to lose him.

For some reason I always thought "NU" was short for Northwestern University.

Referring to Northwestern as "NW" seems the equivalent of someone calling U of M "Michigan University", which always gets folks going on those rare occasions a recruit refers to Michigan that way.

I have often seen "UNL" (University of Nebraska-Lincoln) used in reference to the Cornhuskers, so I just googled it:

https://unlcms.unl.edu/ucomm/styleguide/n

and it appears that's how they're officially referenced internally and by the state of Nebraska government.

I didn't look up how many locations have satellite campuses of the University, but I do know, for instance, that University of Nebraska-Omaha (where their Medical School and hockey team are based) goes by "UNO".

Let's reach across the lake and share any one of our running backs with our learned friends.  You know, the guy who's starting to pound it for 5 or 6 yards a carry, gaining some some steam, getting some rhythm....and we inexplicably take him out of the game for the remainder, leading all to wonder "Did he get hurt, or something?'  Chopper him to Evanston and he can play the whole 2nd half.
