We'll get this one started -

BTN has Eastern Michigan / Michigan State or Purdue versus Southern Illinois

ESPN is going with Georgia Tech versus Virginia Tech

ESPN2 will be taking on Bowling Green versus Wisconsin

ESPNU will be curing insomia with Iowa and Pitt

ESPNNEWS, supposedly, will carry Western Illinois versus Northwestern

ESPN3 is carrying its normal grab bag - Maryland / Syracuse, Duke / Tulane, Marhsall / Akron and others.

Except Izzo hasn't won a championship in almost 15 years and Dantonio hasn't won one ever? And Michigan basketball has had more success the last few years than MSU including going 6 for 8 in head to head games over the last four years? And Brady Hoke at Michigan has the same amount of BCS bowl appearances and victories as Dantonio at MSU? But yes, grrrr, very grrrr...

It's more the tone of what Hoke says.  He's repeatedly said that the goal is to win the Big Ten.  People get that you can't win a title without winning your conference (unless you're in the SEC) but other programs talk about competing for NCs -- Hoke talks about winning the Big Ten and if an opportunity to play for an NC happens, so be it.  It shows a lack of fire and complacency and is an outdated mode of thinking.  It's not about actually winning but it's about the perception of your program and how fans and outsiders view you.  Your goal should be to win an NC every year.  The Patriots or Seahawks don't say our goal is to win the AFC/NFC.

And what would happen if Hoke went around talking about competing for National Championships? People around here would be up in arms about how we have to "walk before we can run." I don't think the team's performance has anything to do with Hoke talking about winning B1G championships rather than National Championships.

Also, if our goal is to win the National Championship every year then I suppose Lloyd should have that building and statue in his honor on State St. and not Bo?

Clearly I brought it up bc I thought someone else did. Not bc I think the meme you're peddling about talking about NCs in press conferences instead of b10 championships mattering in terms of wins and losses isn't just as dumb, if not dumber. I'll tell you what, if we win the conference and then make the playoffs and proceed to shit the bed, I'll give you props. Until then, how about we hold the staff accountable for things that actually matter. Deal?

Posts like this are so stupid. By all means please go subscribe to the Sparty newsletter and get the pages sticky while fantasizing over an alternate reality.
Beilein is a better coach than Izzo. He will continue to beat him head to head and have more success in the league and tourney. The last 3 years were not a fluke.

I'm skeptical that hoke can do what dantonio has, but through 3 years I don't see much difference in their success, so let's wait and see before we jump into the red cedar naked.

This could very well be Zeno's Drive and Pitt will keep gaining half the remaining distance to the end zone. This would make it a very Big Ten moment indeed even though they are in the ACC.

Well right now the Big 10 is trying to make an argument that if you take out FSU we're just as good as the ACC so seeing VATech beating OSU or Pitt (who is a nothingburger team) take out a supposed Big 10 West favorite by any large margin kills any of those sorts of arguments.  Stuff like Boston College beating USC already killed it for me but some will continue to make the good fight.

Right now it's a 1 team conference in terms of national relevance.   I am hoping Bowling Green goes in and beats Wisconsin because when MSU beats Wisconsin 50-14 it won't be "11-1 Wisconsin".  Wisconsin has almost as easy of a schedule as Iowa when you look at it.

Still worried MSU is going to back into the playoffs just because they are basically going to play a junior varsity schedule with the Big 10 while all their competition is going to be actually playing real teams here or there.

Izzo is talking about winning a national championship with Mark dantonio in the same season. He hasn't even been to the final four since I was a sophomore in high school. I'm now a sophomore in college. If anybody should be talking about winning the NC it's Beilein who has owned Izzo head to head and made the national championship game two years ago.

Obviously stats are kind of skewed based on competition but still cool to check out. Gurley probably is the best back in the country, though he hasn't shown anything as a pass catcher.

Iowa manages to shave a little under three minutes off the clock on that three-and-out. I believe what we may have just seen is Greg Davis' take on tempo offense, but perhaps with less play action.

As a minor weather note for our game today, it is now quite breezy here in the western portion of Wayne County, about 20 minutes east of Ann Arbor. Kicking of any kind could be interesting.

So glad I got my nap in...usually I wake up and watch Gameday, then the noon games and by 2:30 I'm struggling once the food coma from lunch starts to kick in.

I got TMZ Gameday off early, these noon games are awful so I was able to get my nap in...now time to hit the grill for the afternoon and kill some more time before 3:30.
