Looking really solid in this 2nd quarter on both sides of the ball. Hopefully we can keep it up.

snowflakes? Don't you mean 'open thread'

so I went with snowflakes. I suppose I could change it if that bothers people.

Very nice first half:
Matthew Stafford - 16 for 24, 149 yards, 1 passing TD and 1 rishing TD to his own credit.
Reggie Bush - 11 carries, 112 yards and 1 rushing TD.
The Lions have 17 first downs to the Bears' 5 first downs, and once again, as we look in on what is happening now, the Bears yet again do no convert a third down.
September 29th, 2013 at 2:58 PM ^
I can't believe Stafford on a sneak attempt at the goalline had the ball knocked out of his hands just as he began to extend it to try and break the plane, caught his own fumble in the air, and scored.
September 29th, 2013 at 3:04 PM ^
Scored both of the Steelers' touchdowns.
September 29th, 2013 at 3:12 PM ^
The lions are in great position to completely blow this game in typical lions fashion.
September 29th, 2013 at 3:12 PM ^
The Bears are going to claw themselves back into this game.
September 29th, 2013 at 3:15 PM ^
WOO! Cutler!
September 29th, 2013 at 3:23 PM ^
Reggie Bush is running over them left and right...and you call a pass on 2nd and 1?!
September 29th, 2013 at 3:26 PM ^
It simply was a terrible pass. Stafford hasn't been accurate today.
September 29th, 2013 at 3:26 PM ^
Well I mean, that'll work.
September 29th, 2013 at 3:29 PM ^
and then match it with multiple horrible losses. Maybe lightning will strike this year... miracles do happen in sports.
September 29th, 2013 at 3:40 PM ^
Jalen Rose thinks the Lions will win the divison. This head to head division win will really help.
September 29th, 2013 at 3:48 PM ^
We will learn a lot more about the Lions after that stretch.
September 29th, 2013 at 3:42 PM ^
First he loses his "offensive weapon" designation, now he's forced to sit and watch while the Jags slowly dismantle themselves...
September 29th, 2013 at 3:50 PM ^
Is he just a RB now?
September 29th, 2013 at 4:00 PM ^
He's a WR now. Apparently he could only wear the 16 as a receiver.
September 29th, 2013 at 5:23 PM ^
Maurice Jones-Drew is averaging 2.6 yards per carry right now. He's 28 now, which is pretty old for an NFL running back, but still.

That was a cheap shot on that recovery, and I love Chicago calling TOs just to annoy the Lions.

Bell needs to hold on to the damn ball.
September 29th, 2013 at 4:21 PM ^
come on throw the ball to Andre Johnson. I need the fantasy points

Come on throw to Golden Tate! I need the fantasy points.

I can't believe Suh wasn't penalized for twisting Cutler's ankle on that sack at the end of the first half. Dirty, dirty, dirty. Does not belong in the NFL.
September 29th, 2013 at 5:34 PM ^
It's called a tackle. And he clearly belongs in the NFL.

If you don't think that was a dirty play, you're blind. Suh clearly tackles Cutler, and then after the tackle is complete, blatantly wrenches his leg. Cutler took a minute to get up after that play. Suh should be banned.
September 30th, 2013 at 6:37 AM ^
Whoever your favorite defensive lineman is, or whoever you think the cleanest most angelic player in the league is, I guarantee they've wrenched someone's ankle or gouged a kidney or something in a pileup. Welcome to football.
September 29th, 2013 at 5:49 PM ^
Just took a delay of game penalty so that he could punt from the Denver 45 on 4th and 6. Chip Kelly!
September 29th, 2013 at 6:01 PM ^
Golden Tate's been killing my fantasy team. Awful pickup on my part
September 29th, 2013 at 6:07 PM ^
I feel the same way about my Tavon Austin pickup.

I think Stephen Schilling came in for a couple snaps for the Chargers.
September 29th, 2013 at 6:16 PM ^
I guess there was an ijury because Stephen Schilling is in at LG now.

Manning and the Broncos offense is just ridiculously good. The look on Chip Kelly's face as Manning marched up and down the field all day was priceless (part "well crap" and "make it stop please"). It's almost unfair to give Manning all those weapons.
And as I'm typing this the Fox affiliate here just switched to the Chargers/Cowboys game because its "more competitive".

I can't believe the Lions beat the Bears, and are 3-1 now. Still not getting my hopes up...still have Green Bay in the division. Besides, it's still the Lions. They somehow ALWAYS find a way to blow it.
September 29th, 2013 at 11:43 PM ^
The Lions will drop three of the next four, guaranteed...
