Personally I'm just hoping the Lions don't poop the bed here. And for our Michigan guys to go somewhere good for them.
The annual booing of Goodell has come and gone.
Already exists: http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/nfl-draft-day-1-open-thread-0
It was started at like 8am.
Ah crap. My bad. To be fair, who starts an open thread for an event 12 hours early?
Don't worry I'm too lazy to scroll that far down on mobile anyway.
The guideline for games and events like the draft has always been to start the thread as close to the event as possible to preserve the quality of discussion and also to prevent the thread from being relegated to the second page by the time something starts. Even prediction threads during the season are supposed to be started a maximum of 12 hours before the game. Granted, the draft is a once-per-year event, but we may have to extend these guidelines.
Mgoweather has been taking your rules to great. He is able to predict the weather several hours before the start of the game.
And trade down and take Mack.
that is the rumor...will probably take a minimium of a second round pick...
Drink everytime Clown Baby hits Vincent.
I just want to see the players get drafted.
The walk-up music, introducing all the players before the draft, it doesn't need to be 3 days. They're trying way too hard to squeeze something out of this and turn it into something special.
And they want to make it four days. No clue how.
Put it back to last weekend...and go Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Because they know there's tons of idiots out there who will watch it
I'll follow it but there's playoff hockey on. I'm not gonna actually watch a draft.
It's ridiculous that the first pick team should take more than like 30 seconds to make their pick. You've had months to decide!
Wait by the phone for a trade
Rumor that Ryan Mallett may be traded to Texans.
These guys are AWFUL...they have no chemistry.
And Berman is losing it. He can't put a sentence together or lead a discussion. He just wants to throw out random facts...
Everyone knew that they were going to take Clowney, but it's a mistake. He's the best available, but not at a position they need.
So is this the last time we have to watch the clowney hit?
It'll be shown during every Texans game all season.
Good thing I plan on watching 0 Texans games this season.
What's funny is i'm watching it on nfln and haven't seen it since before the draft started. How many times on espn? 3-4-5 times?
Thanks, I'll check it out...and 2 times.
Thanks, I'll check it out...and 2 times.
for mentioniong the draft being on the NFL Network. Laziness or whatever, the TV was already on ESPN when the NFL Draft started and all I did to deal with the non-stop screaming was to turn down the volume.
The NFL Network is a much more peaceful place.
I'd bet a lot of you would be upset if they didn't show the hit. That way you wouldn't be able to bitch about it.
Bonus: 2 shots of Gruden punches Mel and walks off set.
Damn Smokey, I gotta work in the morning.
Does anyone else think that Taylor could've gone #1 overall last year?
No. He was a top 10, but not #1 overall.
Well, Mel Kiper agrees with you. According to him, the top three offensive tackles taken in this year's draft would have been picked ahead of last year's no. 1 pick.
Ticket sale pick at #3
For a second there I thought the Bills were going to do the same with Mack
Why did they push it back so far this year? Not that I watch it very closely but I remember it used to be in the middle of freaking April.
The venue (Radio City Music Hall) was booked for an event at the usual date, so the NFL pushed the date back: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9301153/roger-goodell-confirms-nfl-draft-moving-2014
Jax trying to sell tickets with the local product.
Henne/Bortles competition with Denard in the backfield.
Chad Henne just threw up a little in his mouth
Poor damn Henne
I just saw one my best friends on ESPN at the Bortles watch party...the hot girl jumping up and down in the front. Was just at her wedding last year. Used to date her older sister.
That was weird.
Jonny Football looks pissed he wasnt the first QB taken..hahahaha
He wasn't the first Aggie picked either.
