NCAA Football 14 Top-25 rankings released (M #19); no Legacy unis in game
Went through this video and put together all of the Top-25 for the game. Michigan is way too low at #19. TCU ranked higher than Michigan? They lost to sparty. And Texas? Ugh, we go through this every year. They'll finish the year unranked.
6 SEC teams in the top 12 and 1 big ten team in the top 18
Unfortunately, that sounds about right.
I was going to agree. I actually I think that they've overrated Michigan more than they've underrated them through the years. Why would you rank Michigan above 19 without using your bias? To the rest of the world they're replacing their starting quarterback, the interior line, and their best linebacker is out for the majority of the season. If that was another team would you think they should be much higher?
ND should be #18... Right? Come on, I wouldn't exactly say we're replacing our QB. He started several games last season, has been in the system for 3 years and he is named Devin Gardner. Michigan is and will be a top 10 team by the end of the season. ND will be I ranked along with Texas, and Sparty. Jake Ryan is a great effort player, but is still very raw and Gets exposed by equal and better talent opposite him. He will be Missed, but not the end if the world. Our line will be better than least year and so will the defense as well as the running game.
Please be right
Not to diminish the obvious SEC dominance in the rankings, but you're cherrypicking the numbers a little. If you say "1 B1G team in the top 18", should you say "6 SEC teams in the top 24"?
You don't need to go to 24. It's a joke, but it won't end until the playoff starts. That's when the SEC will come back down to earth in the polls and the universe will be righted.
is that ND had "Under the Lights" uniforms and Michigan doesn't. ND has a bunch of alternate uniforms but all Michigan has as an alternate is a uni that only reminds you of shame. This is some BS.
agree, but.... Denard is on the cover!
Northwestern should be in there somewhere as well
Not to change topics, but so I don't have to waste a thread on this, if you're on 360 and planning on getting this, we're looking for more online dynasty members.
I'd be down. I'm already in an ESPN league but I'm open to as many leagues as I can get in, as long as they are structured well and are consistently moving through the weeks.
I'm sure all the alternate unis will eventually be available...for a nominal fee.
Clemson always seems to be ranked way up there in the preseason and then has a spectacularly mediocre season.
Tajih as a senior could do some serious damage this year. They'll likely lose to USCe and FSU but could be #2 in the ACC.
Good. Shock the world.
^^^This.
Damn. I guess I'm gonna have to not buy the game for the 8th year in a row
The world wouldn't be right without having Norte Dame in the top 10 in a preseason poll.
Wow, no sparty or northwestern? And Nebraska is ranked below Michigan? Given every other preseason ranking, I'm kind of surprised.
can't believe I'm saying this, but: in defense of Notre Same, they did play in the title game. wildly overrated or no, people were going to rank them high solely because of that.
And Texas may not be the juggernaut it used to but I wouldn't be shocked to see them ranked at the end of the year.
Texas has a ton of returning starters. I wouldn't be surprised to see them much better than last year, although given a recent history of underachievement I wouldn't count on them quite getting into the title picture.
*Dame. Autocorrect makes fools out of us all
OMG...no Legacy jerseys...not getting.
Going through all of Oregon's options probably took up half of that video.
I can't argue with ranking Michigan at #19. Ohio at 2 seems high but yes they went undefeated last year so I guess so. A lot of games in 2012 could have been wins for us and I think our luck will be better this year, just upset I can't run around the field with Denard anymore
IIRC from the other thread, they put him with 90 speed. However, they horribly underrated his strength.
For all the head-scratching that goes with team and player ratings, things always really get funny when you look at the individual skill ratings of individual players. They are utterly baffling in many places.
Got lucky to win nw game and msu game, so the argument goes both ways.
"Luck" had nothing to do with the MSU win.
Thank God they got rid of low socks.
I prefer the low socks and think high socks looks silly.
Michigan isn't replacing their starting qb. Devin started the last half of the season with a much better completion percentage than Denard. We still have Gallon, Lewan, Schofield on offense. We get Countess back on defense and all of our young role players are a year older. We should be around 14th if we play like we did after Gardner took over in those last 5 games. Every team besides the top 5 is going to have weaknesses. We only have them in a few areas.
This thread is about a video game's ranking of the top 25 teams?
Yes.
I thought it was a legit poll too. Damn kids! Get off my lawn!
How's the cover look?
It amazes me that some people get angry about team rankings in a video game. I play NCAA quite often, but don't get mad about the rankings; it's not real.
