NC Game Storyline: Calipari to Lakers?
I apologize for not being able to embed the actual tweet on here (and maybe somebody can help me out), but Rex Chapman tweeted out just a little while ago:
@Rexchapman: Was messin' 'round on Sat nite re: Cal. But word is - win or lose 2nite - it's a #DoneDeal ...Cal 2 La-La-Land 2 coach Mamba's Lakers. #NoBS

Take it for what it's worth.
famous for being a white guy who could jump. Seriously, the guy had some hops. He had an ok'ish career in the NBA. He does a little radio work now I think.
He definitely did not nail anything. Rex Chapmen was primarily a slasher. His driving set up his jumper. Where Stauskas is primarily a shooter. His jumper sets up his driving.
I had to google him since I had no idea.
Apparently he played for UK back in the day.
So old.
Unfortunately he has already signed his letter of intent. But is there some clause that if a coach leaves he can switch?
Yes, this is how we got LeVert, but the player can't just switch. The school/new coach (I'm not sure which) has to release the player from his LOI before he can sign elsewhere
Oh, I thought perhaps there was some kind of rule that said a school had to release a signee if the coach resigns. That was really nice of Ohio to release Levert, then! I figured they didn't have a choice.
Yeah when they found out he wasn't trying to trade tattoos for play they let him off
well if a coach leaves players are now alowed to leave. and go to any school they want.
Ironic that aside from the Lakers 4 highest paid players, the UK players take home more money than the other Laker players.
Lakers will go after Jerry Sloan
As a Laker fan, I don't want Cal, Sloan or Dumtonio. Give me Lionel Hollins please.
like it or not your getting him
As mentioned above, this article contains the very quick rebuttal of the Lakers to this story, but there are a few other interesting questions that are contained in the piece - LINK
I will admit that chuckled a bit at this part:
If it is true, the big question is what Kobe Bryant would think of it. Is he on board with a coach whose first run in the pros with the Nets didn't end well, especially the part where his tream drafted Kerry Kittles over Bryant? (Calipari has maintained he was forced into that decision.)
Is Kobe ever done?
Guys, I speak twitter. "Done deal" translates to "Probably not happening".
It will be like Les's "I've got a damn strong football team" speech after the Miles-to-UM rumor went out. Calipari will tearfully refute the rumor in the lockerroom at half-time, swear he'll die in Lexington, and the Wildcats will come out smoking.
Oh so close to being in this one. I think they would have taken care of WI!
wins all around tonight if Cal leaves and Digger retiring.
What's next?
Sanctions. Amen!
How awesome would it e for an all fresmen team to go to the NBA and the HC? It's a dream for Coulter and the NCAA lawsuit.
I don't know why you got negged on this. I'm with you here.
Back to their poor shooting ways! Too bad they had to shoot so well against Michigan!
Can we get Fab Five Muppets!
