National Championship Game Open Thread
Well, it'll probably be a short thread, since everyone has already said they're not watching tonight. But for those that are, it's the end of college football on the field for awhile. Gameday on. Pregame in about half an hour. It'll keep us busy till the Two and a Half Men Open thread starts later tonight.

I would have worn a Georgia or Stanford jersey and taken a knee before I kicked

Saban's wondering if it's too late to cut him
January 9th, 2012 at 10:12 PM ^
...will he have a scholarship by the 4th?
January 9th, 2012 at 10:14 PM ^
He looks like he should be borrowing his dad's Ferrari for Ferris Bueller.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:14 PM ^
Mad Hatter going to have to figure out a way to score some of those point thingies.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:14 PM ^
Haven't seen a single Bama ball carrier who isn't hanging on to the ball as if his life depended on it..an obvious point of emphasis..LSU won many games by forcing fumbles-int-special teams play
January 9th, 2012 at 10:15 PM ^
watch the game? If they start hurry-up, then quit with all the replays and the stupid logo that blocks the whole screen for 5 seconds.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:17 PM ^
Am I the only one that would rather watch Bama's kickers practice field goals for three hours than watch this shit?
January 9th, 2012 at 10:17 PM ^
January 9th, 2012 at 10:18 PM ^
That is all.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:27 PM ^
Bullshit. Saban is the devil.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:19 PM ^
Giving credit to LSU for giving up yards but not touchdowns! Seem to remember the Sugar Bowl playing out the same way. Yet we were getting dominated on both sides of the ball by VT. Why is this guy still on tv. Ughh.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:43 PM ^
Still, it's better than Millen or Spielman.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:19 PM ^
Question is starting to become whether LSU will even score
January 9th, 2012 at 10:20 PM ^
#1 QB recruit going to LSU
January 9th, 2012 at 10:20 PM ^
Jordan Jefferson is not good.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:20 PM ^
It's the "Season Ending" Award that they're playing for. Good call.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:22 PM ^
Deer in the headlights from Jordan Jefferson.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:23 PM ^
What are the chances the LSU boards are exploding with the "we already beat these guys, this is bullshit!!!"?
January 9th, 2012 at 10:27 PM ^
January 9th, 2012 at 10:31 PM ^
But a legitimate excuse.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:40 PM ^
I'm sure they are, and it will be even louder when they lose and people note that the series between these two teams is now tied at 1-1.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:56 PM ^
If nobody gets a TD. Again.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:49 PM ^
I wonder how many are calling for Les Miles' head on a pike.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:24 PM ^
I only watch Michigan on ESPN during bowl season. I'm beginning to hate what the "four letter network" is becoming, both editorially, and as a five dollar a month addition to my TV bill.

Doesn't your hand have to be above your shoulder for a fair catch? Herbie was all over it like last weeks' catch that wasn't.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:27 PM ^
A crappy game. LSU needs to bring out the Water Boy.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:28 PM ^
This game is horrid. They talk up Upshaw for getting to Jefferson but NO ONE COVERED HIM!
January 9th, 2012 at 10:52 PM ^
Yet we got all this grief about how the Sugar Bowl sucked, how sloppy it was and that neither team belonged. LSU doesn't look like they belong in this game right now.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:29 PM ^
Another title is that no one will be talking about Urban Meyer being the best coach in college football anymore.

That and the agonizing "what could have been"'s for MSU.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:29 PM ^
So who else is not watching this game?
January 9th, 2012 at 10:33 PM ^
Probably not that many people on the freakin' live blog dude, at least by choice.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:44 PM ^
Me. The game was not only boring enough the first time but the obvious rematch makes it a no go for me.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:29 PM ^
I hope a lot of these Bama defensive players will graduate this year...or leave school
January 9th, 2012 at 11:00 PM ^
I'm there with you. The only reason I'm interested in this game is for scouting purposes for next year. They said Richardson is leaving and they mentioned that their OC is going to Colorado State. It looks like they have 8 starting seniors that will be gone and who knows how many juniors. I hope they win just so there's a more likely chance for people to leave early for the draft. Anything to make the UM match up next year a bit easier.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:30 PM ^
Considering turning the game off. This is just boring.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:38 PM ^
This may be the worst game of the year for me, and I watched Louiseville take on Kentucky.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:46 PM ^
I dunno man, Alabama/LSU Vol. 1 was pretty damn boring as well. I'm not watching this game but I can only imagine it's as boring as the first considering the stats. Probably looks just like our game where one team ran down the field and choked every time while the other looked just plain bad...
January 9th, 2012 at 10:46 PM ^
self-applying thumb screws now . . .
January 9th, 2012 at 10:30 PM ^
I feel like Mathieu is going to come up big soon.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:34 PM ^
Not unless they put him on offense...
January 9th, 2012 at 10:36 PM ^
He may be the best option at qb right now.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:30 PM ^
How the hell does LSU shit the bed in the secondary so often?
January 9th, 2012 at 10:31 PM ^
Jarrett Lee? Yes, please...
January 9th, 2012 at 10:34 PM ^
great tackle by Jefferson!
January 9th, 2012 at 10:34 PM ^
BEAT OHIO.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:47 PM ^
WELL SAID, SIR. September can't come soon enough.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:35 PM ^
That was ghy out of freshman Denard decision making
January 9th, 2012 at 10:35 PM ^
At least Jefferson can make a tackle
