Yeah, ask psu, Oregon and west virgina, the later 2 being bcs bowl champs, how bad those offenses are.
National Championship Game Open Thread
Still trolling I see.
I still feel that treating the first game of the season between Oregon and LSU as somehow representative of how those two teams would match up now is silly.
As for WVU, that game was 34-21 with WVU driving into the 4th quarter. LSU and Alabama have very good defenses, but watching this game I saw offenses that couldn't/wouldn't do anything creative to move the ball.
Now that's pathetic...you get 5 yards back and you still don't go for it?
If this was the only LSU game I saw all year I'd say they aren't even a top 25 team
See series tied 1-1 what do?
Best out of 3?
Next year the hype is going to be all over Alabama against us
for Borges. We can hold Bama to <28, but only Al can get more.
Mystified as to why LSU couldn't do more in this game...what a huge disappointment given the hype
The team to not even win their conference yet win a national championship. Ridiculous.
This has nothing to do with a tornado, Brent...this is football.
I know...hard to keep watching him try and draw the connection...like Nick Saban just brought joy to the tornado victims....please, stop already
OK, Now Go Blue! Beat Ohio! Beat 'Bama Beat Everyone in between!
Brady Hoke >>> Les Miles
So the next question, is how many more years until Saban jumps back to the NFL?
Is still pretty important.
No matter what those other BCS game* proponents are saying.
(*sans Sugar Bowl)
I feel like we can kick their ass
what? I really want to believe.
That game was pointless. There's no way that Alabama can claim to have a better season than LSU.
I almost want to say that they deserve the MNC though, because I can't understand why LSU wouldn't switch quarterbacks.
Nick Saban not acting like a douche...woah woah the room is spinning real fast...I'm going to lie down now.
Did Saban just smile?!?
Well this has been a steaming shit pile of a game, and totally what the voters deserved for making the rematch happen. I move that SEC teams are banned from all BCS bowls for the next 10 years to repent.
the state of Alabama has won the last three NCs.
in the country. That says a lot about everything.
Second behind the state of Mississippi, which ironically sucks at football.
Was short lived.
And "Saban loves the players"? Well, the one's he doesn't cut...
is One and Done on the hats. Let's hope.
Except if it was one and done, Bama wouldn't have had a shot at LSU.
...the MSU boards must be....interesting. Bobby Williams could do the same thing as Saban....sure.
This makes me hungry for our first game next year can't wait to se what denardand company can do and also to watch the d shut this offense down
and they are 3 levls below Bama and LSU. Unless Borges pulls a rabbit out of a hat, we are doomed.
Here's to hoping Pitbull presents the trophy
11/17 passing for Jefferson for 53 yards. You can't throw the ball down field how do you expect to do anything against a great D. Bad game plan, bad execution, bad offense all around by LSU.
I wonder if Miles lost some of his locker room when he benched Lee back in November. Lee had gone 9-0 as a starter. He'd done all the right things. Jefferson had gotten in trouble a couple of times off the field. Why should he have taken over as the QB of a #1 team? He didn't get them there.
Our guys were more excited about winning the Sugar Bowl than these guys are about winning the NC... I hate the SEC. Denard just better work on getting that ball out fast.
In this game if he doesn't.
The Oversigning Bowl Part II
I offer my condolences.
Fireworks in my neighborhood... Trying to sleep.
/actually still on mgoblog
We hire the Ohio Bobcat to chase after the Bama elephant next September and punch him in the trunk? Bobcat is a little like a wolverine, no?
this game seems different. this game doesn't feel like a true champion has been crowned. it feels like an sec champ has been crowned. this game is bogus. i understand alabama is good, very very good. but they didn't win the conference let along thier own division or even verse this team they just played, earlier this season. wtf has happened to college football. this is bogus.
The best team in the country just played an unbelievable game and that's all you can think of? Hope we get more respect if we beat Alabama next year.
your right, can't hate the teams at all, they played thier games and yes your are right, both teams did play a great game. im just mad at how this game even was able to become about i suppose, i think its bullsh*t at best.
Alabama is getting right now...
Wow sometimes the questions posed in these interviews are so irrelevant and stupid. Seriously what would Sabans dead dad think of him winning the 3 rd NC????
LOL Saban looked pissed when he was holding up the trophy. What's that guy's deal, is he seriously a robot?
I imagine the interview going something like:
"Coach, you've just reached the pinnacle of your profession. How do you feel?"
Kicker got robbed
How is the kicker not the Offensive MVP? He put up almost all of their points in both games against LSU
The kicker was robbed, the kicker was robbed.
Ok off to the two and a half men open thread
That was even more soul-numbingly boring than I'd been promised, since it wasn't even close. I've never seen a more gutless performance from a QB than what Jordan 'Keep My Jersey Clean on the Option' Jefferson put out there. He must be one of the least likeable football players I've seen in a while - makes the Peyton Manning whiny face look like the Mona Lisa. And really - this game made me even more gkad we dodged the Les Miles bullet. To me, we got a better gameday coach, who's a nicer person, and who more consistently hires good coordinators - even without the huge bank LSU can offer to entice top talent. That offensive gameplan - holy shit. Conservative to the point of fearfulness at first, then no adjustments whatsoever all game long.
Great, great defenses, don't get me wrong. But Bama's D was hardly even challenged. Overall, a shitfest of the highest order.
Good on them giving offensive MVP to the holder on field goals.
a 1 game losing streak in the BCS
So how did ESPN pick 1936 as the year to start counting from for MNC's? Was that just so they could say Alabama has the most titles?
the AP started giving out a trophy (their numbers were for "AP or Coaches National Championships"). So, yes, it was convenient for ESECPN
Kirk and Brent likely doing our Sept 1 game, per Kirk
Well with Michigan a possible Top-Ten team (top-15 at the least), and Bama being the defending Natty Champs and a Top-5 team there's no way the Gameday crew wouldn't be there
Oh god...one last time to show "The Champ" before it never gets played again
Having a press conference?
Congrats ok state!
