MSU Linebacker Jon Reschke likely done for the season with foot injury
September 27th, 2016 at 10:24 AM ^
Kid's a dude. Hope he can recover quickly. He's a total ballhawk and has deceptive SEC speed getting sideline to sideline.
September 27th, 2016 at 12:15 PM ^
You don't need the SEC in your post. It's laughable that people think there's some kind of extra level of speed that only exists in that conference.

They need another season like 1994. The last under Perles. big f'ing Oh-fur.

They have no linebackers, they have no QB. Thomas O'Conwell has done terrible this year. Damyoung Ferry cant throw the ball. The sky is falling. Next thing you know, Damntoni will be headed to LSU to get away from Harbaugh.
September 27th, 2016 at 10:36 AM ^
Uh, their LBers are fine. Ed Davis is good, Chris Frey is decent, Bullough is good and will be back for Michigan even if it means playing on one leg.

September 27th, 2016 at 10:41 AM ^
To be fair, Davis hasn't played yet this season and it's unclear when he'll be ready to go. If Bullough has a broken collarbone, there's not much anyone can do to get him on the field at a productive level until it's healed, which can take 6-8 weeks.
September 27th, 2016 at 12:29 PM ^
I'd be shocked if a Bullough didn't consume veterinary levels marcaine in order to take the field against Michigan.
September 27th, 2016 at 10:46 AM ^
Heard Ed Davis was very out of shape and looked more D-Line size...I expect him to be back and a full-go by the time we play them however.

That's decision making consistent with what you'd expect from someone who took 6 years to graduate from MSU.

Too bad for the kid. Hope he has a speedy full recovery.
Im disappointed I really want our ass whoppin of MSU to be with them at full strength
September 27th, 2016 at 11:37 AM ^
Very rare for anyone to be at full strength at the end of October. Injuries happen to everyone, including us. There are no excuses.

Having not paid close attention to staee depth, how negatively does this impact them? Is this a huge loss?
September 27th, 2016 at 10:41 AM ^
Bullough is already out, so losing Reshke means both ILB's are gone. That's tough for any team. I know Shane Jones was playing in place of Bullough last game, he looks OK.
I started typing before realizing I may not be helpful in answering your question, but this is the interent so I won't turn back. That Dowell kid is pretty good, and Frey has been OK, though I don't believe either is an ILB. Again I'm not helpful here. And I know there have been complaints on Sparty boards that Ed Davis is well over a good playing weight.

for the kid and MSU. I'd rather beat them by 48 points with everyone on their team in tact. Now all the Spartan fans are gonna use "injuries" as an excuse for the blowout.

Does it make me a bad person that I'm not upset by the news, though?
September 27th, 2016 at 11:06 AM ^
No just go read some RCMB threads and you'll realize it is ok to feel bad for the kid, but not feel bad for the fans.
September 27th, 2016 at 1:37 PM ^
I myself read the news and shrugged.

that means you are a bucket of liquid shit.

Losing a guy for the year sucks. Full stop.
September 27th, 2016 at 10:54 AM ^
I'll echo Xtra Melanin's point and say that to see a guy lose a year of a career that has such an incredibly short shelf life is unfortunate. MSU may be annoying, but I don't like to see things like that happen to any player. Here's to a successful recovery and a realization that he needs to go to the pros early and get paid.
September 27th, 2016 at 10:56 AM ^
Am I a bad person for having brightened slightly when I read this? Didn't any of you do the same? Yes, it's sad for the kid, just like it's sad for JC.

I hope he fully recovers and can play again, but for now, I'm just being honest.
September 27th, 2016 at 11:02 AM ^
He will get an injury RS from the NCAA and Clark will be denied.
September 27th, 2016 at 12:15 PM ^
This time around, we're the ones asking for a sixth season. Reshke played as a true freshman.
September 27th, 2016 at 11:02 AM ^
Does not matter.
September 27th, 2016 at 11:16 AM ^
I thought they just reloaded in East Lansing? Can't wait to see how the Sparty slaps on BTN justify all of their garbage pre-season analysis of this team. BTN has basically been the Spartan ass kiss club since August.

That Notre Dame win sure was "a great sample."
September 27th, 2016 at 11:24 AM ^
and no excuses. Well, wish the kid full recovery.

Looks like they have Reschke starting but they have Bullough (also rumoured to have an injury) as a backup, so not sure what to make of this.

Douchebag Dantonio will likely get a 6th year out of him because the scowling whiner seems to get a lot more than he should.

Yeah, but those whiners amongst us don't generally scowl as well.
