His good-time Mardi Gras personality will go over great down there.

if we beat them in their upcoming super bowl, they will fade away... i openly wonder if dantoni's success was due to having two good qbs in cousins and cook.

2 good QBs and a defense during an era when Michigan was lost in the wilderness.
Plus it was probably nice having his former boss at OSU telling Ohio kids he didn't want to go to MSU.

You mean a "reverting back to what they've traditionally been for the past 50 years" year.

Historically MSU has been the 3rd best "original 10" big ten school behind Michigan and OSU when looking at wins and win percentage. Obviously when PSU and Nebraska were added they have more wins and a better win percentage which bumps MSU down to 5th but when looking at the original 10 they are #3 with Wisconsin behind them at #4.
But yes it would be nice if we could get them back to being behind us, OSU,and PSU.

excuses about injuries if we win. But you have to remember, right after they beat us in Rich Rod's first year, MSU included that win in their 10 all time greatest wins. I hope Harbaugh puts up 50 points on them.

Good thing for them that their linebackers are awarded a decade's worth of eligibility.

such an incredibly short shelf life. your window to play in college is so small and tenuous that it really is a life-changing event to lose a year. of course we all want to win, beat sparty, go blue, etc, but on a more personal level, it is very rough on the kid. i hope we hand their heads to them on 10/29, but also that the kid heals up well.

on any player. But no problem when they are hurt for the game against us. If JT Barrett got run over by a forklift, for example, and missed the UM game this year, I would quite pleased.

I did enjoy watching the unlubricated ass hammering that Alabama put on them in the bowl game.

I think we were in on his recruitment at one time, even had a good shot at him.

There was speculation that we would have had a good chance if we had offered earlier. That was the class where we had Michael Ferns very early, then added Darrin Kirkland, Furbush and Winovich before the season.

Yeah that's one thing about the game of football that sucks. You want to see the best players out there doing their thing, but all too often there are injuries that prevent it. The NFL is the worse, but the game of football in general is unlike any other sport in that regard. We're in a sad sad place if we're hoping that our rivals players are injured so we have a better chance to win. We should be at a place where we always want to beat their best. No excuses and the better team won. I hope they're healed up for that game.

The ole celebration injury. It has to be hard to sleep after you hurt something skipping around a football field.

But, he injured himself on the celebration. Then realized something was very wrong when he took his next hard step.

His dad played at MSU. His said during his recruitment that he wasn't going to pick any school over Michigan State.

I seem to remember maybe a thread or two about him during his recruitment, but yeah, his father was a lineman at MSU in the 1980s, as I recall, so even if we'd made a serious effort, it was probably a non-starter. I think Reschke had actually flipped spots in the linebacker corps at MSU too and by most reports was doing quite well, so quite unfortunate for him and the Spartans.
