Mike Leach Keeps Beating the Drum on Satellite Camps
Washington State coach Mike Leach claims that 11 schools in the Pac-12 are in favor of keeping the camps and can't fathom why the conference voted against them. He also says that he will not stop talking about it and will continue to be visible.
Leach is quickly becoming one of my favorite coaches.
Huge Mike Leach fan this week.
Agreed, and especially with a name like Leach!
..when he didn't get the Maryland job. There was a part of me that didn't want Michigan to face his offensive every year, but the entertainment value alone would have been worth it.
“For all our posturing and pompously parading around pretending everything’s about the student-athlete, we just cut out a whole bunch of opportunities for them and we’ve done it for no better reason than we’re jealously, selfishly trying to guard our recruiting areas or we’re too lazy to work the camps,”
Fantastic aliteration there in the beginning!
Leach is a poet and he doesn't even know it.
As he should. I think it will be overturned if enough coaches keep the heat up.
"THATS IT. IM LOCKING CRAIG JAMES (CJK5H)(allegedly) SON IN THE CLOSET AGAIN UNTIL THE NCAA OVERTURNS THIS RULING!"
Motion passes.

So glad the rumors about him and not Harbaugh were categorically false. He is the opposite of a jackhammer.
I'm not sure this is Mora. UCLA's Athletic Director is a Brandon level idiot and may have gone rogue when he was in chrage oif the voting. I haven't heard Mora discuss this issue one way or the other and given the way UCLA's recruiting has evolved with Mora in charge, to include many more players nationwide, I'm having a hard time seeing why he would cut off a possible advantage there.
'Rogue' is one way to put it. Graft is another... I would not rule that out because bagmen.
Leach is quickly becoming one of my favorite coaches.Agreed.

*slow clap* I don't know if any coach in opposition other than Harbaugh has put it better. Well done, Mike Leach, and I hope he keeps on representing those opposed to the ban, as well as Washington State and his conference exactly like this.
how/why the Pac voted against the camps. WSU, OR, UT and CO on record against the ban. Dykes at Cal is pro ban. Stanford probably voted for the ban (based on Shaw's comments).
It makes sense to me that USC and UCLA took the SEC approach (get off my lawn), and maybe AZ/Arizona State as well.
That leaves Washington and Oregon St. Can't imagine a school in BFE Corvallis would be against satellite camps, and it's probable Washington would want to camp down in California too.
If there was a split, it's not surprising that USC/UCLA have more power.
I find it hard to believe that the Pac would vote against the wishes of all but one coach. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if the California schools call the shots, however.
I have the same question about the Big 12. in the ESPN article, they listed 5 Big 12 coaches. Four were against the ban. I find it hard to believe every single coach of the 5 teams not interviewed were for the ban, especially Kansas, Texas Tech and WVU.
Edit: Oops, didn't see Michelin bring up the same thing below.
Sounds like lots of coaches told Leach one thing but maybe told their AD's another. I find it highly unlikely that the Pac-12 voted for the ban if 11of 12 members were against it. Leach said that he would find out how the Pac-12 came to its vote. I hope he does-it will be fun to watch.
Satellite camps aside, there appears to be a real problem in the Pac 12 when nobody can actually say how conference-wide votes are determined and cast.
11 vote for something, one abstains, and the conference-wide vote is a No? That does not sound too democratic or representative to me.
AGAIN today just like pretty much every day is ALL Harbaugh and Michigan bashing. He brings on one SEC anaylst and SEC writers after another and its all bashing...You should hear the comments and execuses..Not one of them can accept the PR blackeye the SEC has gotten. Not one will address or even bring up the CONSTANT cheating going on in the SEC. They are very defensive and it looks like the SEC is closing ranks to defend this Cheating conference.
These guys are nothing but HYPOCRITS...and they keep talking about the "student athletes" and whats in their best interest ...nevermind thta all the SEC spring teams were playing during "Spring Break " and hosting events during "Spring Break" apparently only the football student athletes need protecting..What a fukn JOKE these people are

Don't mind the OP bringing it up again, because Mike Leach is the bestest pirate what ever sail'd the ocean blue, but this is just a writeup of something that was on the board yesterday. So it's not like Leach is on day two of a diatribe, at least per the cited article.
Pretty good discussion in that thread, too:
I thought this article had new information (11 of 12 schools being for the camps and Leach talking about continuing his efforts).
But even if it wasn't, yes, Leach is being awesome. More Leach!
The best part is Harbaugh isn't the one stirring the pot, letting others count the merits of his (and others) process.
Has always been the man. I wish he was in the Big Ten West.
after the quote in the locker room. "We thought we were too good to play Baylor.....oh yeah the mighty red raiders oh yeah poo poo fuckin' Baylor fuck you, and fuck me, and fuck everybody.....that is fucking bullshit" straight outta Christmas Vacation I tell ya!
I cant start a thread so i'll post this here. Michigan just offered a '17 OT from San Antonio this afternoon.

The Mountain West rep was born in Fla and previously also held a job at Ga Tech.
The Sun Belt conference voting rep is listed as a student from Louisiana. His small school—like others in his conference—is hurt by a satellite ban. However, like many conference schools, Louisiana Lafayette Tech regularly plays--and presumably gets large payments from—SEC and ACC schools (2016 Ga, 2015 Kentucky, 2014 Ole Miss, 2013 Arkansas, 2012 Fla, 2011)
Non-votiing members who apparently had a voice on the committee include 2 UCLA students, one of whom played FB for an ACC school (Ga Tech)
and--(if you can believe it)
Lisa Campos—whose full (unlisted) name apparently is Lisa Campos-Emmert. Mark Emmert, the head of the NCAA was publicly against Harbaugh’s spring break practice in Fla. . http://www.zoominfo.com/p/Lisa-Campos/1859451283 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Todd_Stansbury http://web1.ncaa.org/committees/committees_roster.jsp?CommitteeName=1FB… Members
Harbaugh is an A-list celebrity at a very high visibility school.
Leach is a B/C celebrity coaching in Pullman, Washington.
Maybe more importantly, Harbaugh was holding camps in SEC territory.
Imagine if Leach and Harbaugh were on the same coaching staff. Ohe as the head coach and one as the assitant head coach/OC. Every reporter in the US would be applying for that beat.
I think Leach became my second fav Ccoach with 42-0 FU.
No clue about the context of that moment and I didn't read the background because it can't get any better than that ten second vine.
He is the closest thing.................by a wide margin not even close........to Jim Harbaugh.
The guy is original and not afraid to speak his mind.
It's so nice to see one of the few guys willing to speak their mind within the context of the NCAA shitfire environment.
