Maybe I haven't read enough yet, but why would a coach doing 30 satellite camps be a problem or "abuse"? If he wants to take his staff and work his tail off in 15 different states for a month straight, instead of sitting in an office tweeting @ kids or going on in home visits, all while hooking up poorer high school kids with opportunities for college-level coaching and exposure, what's the harm? What's out of control about that?
If a coach wants to do 8 and say that's enough for him and his staff, fine. If a coach wants to do 0, that's fine. But if a coach wants to teach and give opportunities all summer long, shouldn't that be his choice?
Limit of 10 camps, but unlimited texting and tweeting?!?!? Seems 1 is more intrusive to a kid's life than another.

Someone should ask Shaw, which states don't have 2 students that could get into Stanford. Would be good to put that on the record.

Here in Daytona for kids' spring break, and didn't even know this competition was going on here until we arrived. Injuries? Seems every team here (many are doing cheers and formations on the beach every night) has on average 1 set of crutches in the group.
Congrats to the team. GO BLUE!!!

It's a good strategy, regardless of Gary. If you take a high-priority recruit from someone else in your division of your conference, it's +1 to us and -1 to them. Differential 2.

I think we were truly in it for a lot of recruits. Peppers came. We were in it for Hand and Treadwell. We got lots of recruits.
What I'm thankful for us that every play on offense doesn't look like a struggle. Our O-line can block. Our D looks like they know what they're doing. They communicate and get in the right position. We have game plans on both sides of the ball, good coaches and good talent. Plus heart. Things are going in the right direction and I'm thankful.

All the RBs looked healthy. De'veon with vision, Drake was quick. Houma from 0 carries in 3 years to 5 TDs this year. So happy to get De'veon and Drake again next year.

Was going to bring this up if it comes down to us vs ND. Heard that on College Football Live a week ago. If ND isn't "indisputably" better than a P5 team for 4th spot, then they don't get in. We may have to see if "indusputable" is the same definition B1G refs use, though.

Wasn't Jack Harbaugh hired at Michigan while his prized, recruit son was in elementary school? And "somehow" his son ended up at Michigan 8-10 years later. Seems kinda sketchy to me.
|29 weeks 5 days ago||And I don't think Sr. was||
And I don't think Sr. was told we'll hire you if you can convince your son to come here. Now there is a potentially slippery slope. And if Jr. Doesn't come and then Sr. Is let go 6 months from now, then it seems sketchy. But if he's coming to coach, recruit and leaving his job in Fla, then I gave faith that while likely an incentive for Jr., it is not the only reason. If you think Coach Harbaugh is a bad guy and "only" doing this to get Jr., then you should suspect Sr. won't make it to his 1 year anniversary without Jr. signing. I don't think Jim Harbaugh is a bad guy, and I therefore think the expectation is that Sr. will be here a while.
|29 weeks 5 days ago||Why would this be considered||
Why would this be considered "morally sketchy"? With over signing, you are taking away a kid's opportunity after he's committed to you, possibly greatly adversely affecting his life. With forcing a medical on a kid, you are either taking away an opportunity to showcase his skills or to play the game he loves. With hiring a kid's parent to coach a team, what are you taking away, besides his opportunity to party as often as he'd like?
This is a clever strategy, within the rules, that we'd hate if others were doing it, but that doesn't make it "morally sketchy". It doesn't hurt anyone but the competition you're trying to outplay on the field and off. It's like satellite camps, or spending the full practice time on the field, rather than in the film room. Maximize your opportunities WITHIN THE RULES, WHILE NOT HURTING THE KIDS you want to become part of THE TEAM.
