And I'm not kidding.Neg me all you want but Gardner was a pretty good QB when his OL blocked competantly. Rudock is getting time and he continues to turn the ball over and miss easy passes. God I am tired of this. Gardner had some of those problems too but at least he was a threat to run.

There was one series where the offense opened up a little bit. I am thinking Harbaugh is holding back a bit and is comfortable with a W.

I am looking forward to watching the offense open it up against a tougher opponent.

Still has the ghosts of Hoke haunting them. It will still take time to completely shame them off, but at the very least that last Endzone attempt wasn't UNLV going for the win.

a win is a win. There won't be that much razzle dazzle on offense. 90% of the time it will be a run, a short pass, or intermediate play action with power personnel. I like it.

performance against N. Illinois today. It is a 1 score game with 7 mins left and, while I am sure their asshole fans are pissed, I bet this isn't changing their National Championship expectations. People are overreacting to a ho-hum performance today. It could be worse. We could have been sweating out a 1-score game with 7 mins left against a similar shitty opponent.

was going.  I so resisted interspersing things about OSU's situation, just in case someone was reading the thread after having missed our game.  They had QB problems too, and they supposedly had so many good ones they couldn't choose between them.   Then they had to bench their starter.  Michigan didn't start the season as the unanimous #1, and either NIU is really, really good, or Michigan's moving along fine for a new system with new coaches and a new QB.  Lots of teachable moments.

All in all, I'm glad the game was never in doubt (change from past years) but I'm pretty worried our QB can't hit a pass over about 10-15 yards. Good defenses are going to stack the line until he proves he can make some passes.

Michigan players, post game, look relaxed, happy & confident.  Completely different spirit than what was shown last year.

They feel the love of the student section and return it in turn.

They are taking interviews, hamming it up and walking off the field with a spring in their step.  There's alot going on here off the football field that we haven't seen in YEARS.

At some point Rudock is going to have to stop being a game manager and become a game winner if Michigan is going to have a chance against State and OSU (provided he's still starting by then).  The D can only do so much (and hopefully get more turnovers).  Next week should be telling.

What I mean by that is the coaches got a 21-0 lead and went vanilla. They worked the interior offensive line and threw short routes to get offensive timing. They trusted the defense enough not to show or use any blitz packages. I'm thinking it's possible Harbaugh wanted grind the offense instead of looking for big plays. Offensive lines learn by repetition. They did that today and used a lot of short yardage stuff to work the line. Notice there were only 2 or 3 deep balls and no crossing routes by WR's. I guess we will see next week against BYU.
