thinking that we could easily lose to Wisconsin, Iowa, msu, and Osu isn't outrageous. If you think it is, you're a homer. Not saying we WILL, but we'll have to improve to beat any of them.
8-4 if we improve a little.
this is not a playoff team.
Agree with this take

100%.  I finished it, and IMMEDIATELY started it again.  Even better the second time around.  Really brutal first 200 pages or so, like mentioned above.  Much, much easier to understand the second time through.  Get halfway through it, you'll really want to finish.

Clearly edited

They left out the part where the cabbage drops 44 on him on the other end of the floor.

Totally agree with this The future is bright. This team, this year, will not be beating anyone good.
I know this won't be received I know this won't be received well, but we were as close to losing by 30 as we were from winning. Great kicker misses 2 long fgs, we score 7 in garbage time, and the other 7 was an incredible catch. That wasn't the real point, though. The point was that any reasonable fan wouldn't have expected us to win that one. And 48 of 57 picked us anyway. That's all. I like the optimism, and I think we COULD win...I just don't expect it. If that's hating (saying a team with more talent and experience should be expected to win)...well then, I guess I'm a hater.
Homers gonna homer, I Homers gonna homer, I suppose... This is where we should point out that 48 out of 57 people here picked us to beat utah.
Thoughts?

Yes, you're REALLY hoping for improvement.  We all are.  Last night was not the night to see it.  Last night was game 13 of last year.  We can hope and expect improvement, but outside of a slot wr making a block and a pair of khakis on the sideline, that was watching last year all over again.  Anyone who says they saw anything different, well, they're a good Michigan fan.  Can't blame 'em for having a little homer in them.

Boy...8 or 9?

That's some faith!

How about honesty?

This game looked exactly like one last year.  Except the garbage time TD.  Defense had just enough lapses to give up a couple scores.  Offense can't run and turns the ball over at the wrong time.  Lot of "but just a couple plays go a different way, and...".

I have faith in Harbaugh.  Of course, because he's won everywhere.  He will certainly win here.  But this game, the one we currently have to go off of, was a replica of last year.

It's irrelevant, is what it

It's irrelevant, is what it is.  He's gone.  We fired him.  So...what's the point?  Maybe not whiny...spoiled?  Is that a better word?  We got what we wanted.  Move on.  Or pile on because, you know, it matters?  I guess?

So the guy we fired last year So the guy we fired last year may or may not have suggested something that obviously didn't happen? Good work guys...let's pile on. I don't think we looked quite whiny enough toward the end of last year.
The problem is

that we ARE looking at the schedule AND the roster.  It's fairly simple.  We will be considered underdogs against Utah, Minny, OSU, MSU, and PSU.  That's five right off the top.   If we win the games we're supposed to, and lose the ones we're underdogs in, that's 7-5.  Hopefully we win one or two that we're not favored in, and not lose any we're not supposed to.  More than likely, we'll have a little of both.  Somewhere between 6-6 and 8-4 is realistic.  To expect more right away, and to put the FLOOR at 9-3 is nothing more than pure homerism.

Eh Based on the last year or so, he can certainly make a case.
You guys

are so predictable.  It's a good hire.  Will he outperform Pelini?  Perhaps.  Perhaps not.  9 wins each year is no joke, as we all are finding out.  He's a good coach.  It's a good hire.  The sentiment (most, anyway) here reeks of the same arrogance that we have in weeks leading up to games against lowly opponents like Rutgers and Minnesota.  You know, they CERTAINLY couldn't be on our level...until they hand us our asses.  I'd compare OSU in the PAC 12 to Kentucky in the SEC.  You aren't winning 9-10 games very often.  Give him the resources that Nebraska has, and he'll do just fine.  The hard part, for Nebraska fans, will be the immediate results.  He's going to change the style, and it'll take some time to get the pieces in place.  If they don't run out of patience (Hello, Michigan fans!), he will work out just fine.

4 more years!  4 more years!

4 more years!  4 more years!

You already proved his point

once.  Now you went and did it again.  Don't disappoint...third time's a charm!

This

is dead on, unfortunately.

"Front" running. You're technically right. We're also less than 3 years removed from a bcs bid. Your comment about giving the fans respect for having the stomach to sit through lowly 7-8 win seasons sure helps that "michigan fans are entitled" argument.
I don't understand why it's

I don't understand why it's so hard to get that players go to bat for their coaches, or AD I guess.  This is who they chose to play for.  Who they bleed for.  Who they get possibly life-changing injuries for.  I'm not saying the guy is right, or that Brandon was great, or that Hoke is great...but give the guy a break.  This was his life for 4 years...and those men are the reason he chose to do it here.  Besides that point (the major one), maybe he knows that they have an erratic (on his best day) qb, and that it's going to be hard to win with that.  Maybe he knows that we whiffed on a couple O-Line recruits, and that it's going to be hard to win with them.  Maybe he knows Funk is a drooling imbecile.  Maybe being in practice and the weight room for 4 years actually DID give him a little more insight than you have.  Crazy, I know...

Muggle is fine, I suppose

It's got to take some restraint for them  not to say "front-running bitches", and instead use the term "muggle".  I'm sure they'd much rather use the former, but they're trying to tone it down a little.

Then we're in agreement It was about losing games.
And if it was about ticket And if it was about ticket prices, you would have seen them when the prices were announced. And if it was about concussions, you would have seen the medical staff held accountable. But they just happened to take place after we started 2-3. Tell yourself anything you want, the rest of the world sees through it.
I'll work on that And you can show me another school having student protests because their football team isn't very good. Like I said, the fans aren't the only problem. But a majority of them have shown to be nothing more than spoiled brats. A few players are calling them out for it. Personally, I've got no problem with that.
Bo would have, Bo this, Bo that... Bo stopped coaching 30 years ago. Stopped breathing almost a decade ago. Not hard to see why our program is getting passed by. We still can't get through 10 comments without someone talking about things from a half century ago.
The fans aren't THE problem They're one of many problems, sure. But the fans have been much more embarrassing than anything on the field this year. When faced with a losing team, the fans have exposed themselves as entitled, petulant, front running "supporters". The players, current and past, see this. A few have spoken on it. Nothing much more to say here.
Advice

for young Elliott.  Spoiled brats HATE being called spoiled brats.

Brain's vagina has to feel Brian's vagina has to feel soooooooo good right now...
Yawn

Indeed

You can't?

Have you not been here since the ND and Utah losses?  Ha.  Personally, I love the responses by Brandon.  They're hilarious.  Wrong to do, sure...but ballsy and dead on, really.  It's maybe the best thing I've seen him do.  The one thing I've noticed since the wheels started coming off this year is that the majority of this fanbase needs a reminder that, individually, they aren't NEARLY as important as they think they are.  I'm happy for Dave that he reminded a few morons of that fact.  Consider this his Marcus Hall moment.

Or tampons

Or tampons

Ha

Good for him.  I love it.

I do

tomorrow please.

Well

that's fine.  You can expect what you want.  But the results haven't met your expectations.  You can deal with it.  Or you can not, in which case it means you feel that you are ENTITLED to better results.  Jeebus.  You're the guy with two degrees.

Heh

Your first sentence says you're not entitled to anything.  The entire rest of your post is describing what you're entitled to when you attend Michigan.  I give up.

I think

I love you.

For your money

You received a degree from a highly thought of university.  It in no way entitles you to a winning football team.  It would be nice, but you don't deserve it.  You're accustomed to it.

Good for him

Hail Cleary.

Is that for me

Or a picture of Brian?

Well that's good

I'm glad we're moving on.  I have no problem with wanting an incompetent administration out.  That wasn't what most (not all) were saying yesterday, so I'm glad it's changing and getting to the core of the problem.  I still don't see any evidence of lying or covering up.  More incompetence, sure.  Not necessarily anything malicious, though.  I think that having a protest about the rising prices and bad product would have been actually productive.  A distraction that we probably don't need, but productive still.  Short term, we need a new coach and AD.  Long term, we need this place to be a place that recruits, coaches, and directors want to be a part of.  Even if this gets Hoke and Brandon fired,  I don't think anything that is happening now is helping the long term at all.

Was it

really hard to follow?  Or is this just your basic statement when you don't agree with someone?  Honestly curious.

Hey man, if you're willing to

Hey man, if you're willing to admit that the protest was more about wins and losses, then I'm on board.  I don't disagree with wanting heads fired for the product on the field.  I think protesting until it happens makes us look a bit spoiled, but that's fine.  Just don't call it something it's not.  And certainly don't say it's for the sake of the players while asking people to wear OSU gear.  That's all.  This is currently an embarrassment on all levels at Michigan.  From the top on down, and the fans are included.  Not all, maybe not you, but plenty of others for sure.

Not sure about most of it

But you nailed the last sentence.

Yes

1) because we can prove he lied.   2) because the protest was about the lying.  And for the safety of the players.  We know this because we called for Harbaugh, for the sake of safety for our players, not wins and losses.  We wore red, and want to wear red to the games, to support our players.  Yes.  This.  And also, the concussion thing was CLEARLY the start of questioning Hokes intelligence.  Yes again.  By calling the fans out, I'm somehow supporting Hoke and Brandon.  I'm not.  They should, and almost certainly will, be fired.  What I'm saying is that we don't need to make ourselves look like spoiled brats by trying to speed the process up. If the protest was about player safety, fine.  But it wasn't.  It was the catalyst that let a bunch of fans get away with throwing peaceful tantrum about not winning.  I commend the above poster for his rebuttal, where he only mentioned a crap product.  That's fine.  Just don't hide behind the veil of a concussion gate to get what you really want.  What's going on right now is in no way supporting the players, which is what we should all be doing.  Wearing OSU sweatshirts?  You gotta be fucking kidding me.

Thanks

for reading and clearly comprehending my post.

Sales pitch

"Jimmy Harbaugh!  How the heck are ya?  Have you seen the news lately?  How would you like the chance to coach this team for these fans?  They'll love you if you win!  And if you lose?  Well...you see it.  Sure, they'll question your coaching competence.  But they'll also ridicule your overall intelligence, even though you're clearly much more successful than most of them could even dream to be.  They'll ridicule everything about you beyond that.  They'll even question  your integrity as a human being.  They'll riot in the streets.  They'll wear OSU gear, you know, in support of the players.  But, hey, win games and none of that happens.  So...4 years sound good?"

That would be a good point

If wanting Harbaugh had anything to do with concussions.

You don't get it

The medical staff isn't responsible for wins and losses.  Wait, did I say wins and losses?  I meant concussions.  Yeah, I'm upset about concussions.  No, really.

Jeebus

What an embarrassment.  The administration.  The coaches.  The fans.  What a sad time for all involved.  Clueless administration.  Incompetent coaches.  Entitled fans.  Mix them up, and you get a perfect shitstorm.  An OSU sweatshirt?  For real?  And this is supposed to be in support of the players?  Laughable.  What a goddamned joke we've become.  I would love to hear the sales pitch to the next coaching candidate.  I'm sure guys will be lining up around the block for this job.
