Wow, you're so persecuted. From your comments, you don't even seem like a fan - more like a guy who just complains a lot.

This was a bad loss but at the end of the day it is just that: one loss.
Will be interesting to see how the team responds; will they come out and hang their heads or make a stand and push back. This is a tougher road but the nice thing about college basketball is there are many games. If they make it out of the non-conference at 9-3 it won't be the end of the world and there will be plenty for which to play.
It may not be fair but one loss does not destroy a season when it comes to basketball. Our guys just need to listen to the coaches, work hard every day, and when the bell rings again come out fighting.

and seeing Spartan fans soil themselves over this. Seem to forget their team is no world beater either.

remind them they lost to Grand Valley a few seasons ago.
December 6th, 2014 at 2:21 PM ^
It's not like they lost to Grand Valley State or anything.

Oh, wait. It was. And it wasn't televised. And it was ignored by ESPN because ... well, you know, it was an exhibition game.
I don't remember if the spread was as high as 24. Oh, wait. There was no spread. Because it was an exhibition game.
You're catching on, I bet.

This kind of stuff happens in basketball, NJIT was making everything they looked at regardless of if there was a hand in their face or not and only Levert could really get anything going offensively for Michigan. The team is still learning, they'll be fine.

This was a terrible performance and the team just got a major reality check. Defensive communication and intensity have to be much better for this team to win.
However, people saying that this is a "historic embarrassment" and such are going overboard. Games like this happen in college basketball. By tourney time you'll see a bunch of teams in the field with "WTF?" losses on their resume. We just have to move on and not have any repeat performances.

A lot of the team was out at an ugly sweater party last night. They left a little after midnight but still had quite a few drinks.

source? can anyone confirm this?

Damn this isn't football people. Chill. It's embarassing currently but it won't matter in the overall scheme of things.

At least Hockey depants'ed Ohio State last night. It's still great to be a wolverine anyday over a buckeye or a sparty.

Right Thad Matta and Tom Izzo lost to Findlay and Grand Valley State. Much worse losses.
December 6th, 2014 at 2:36 PM ^
Those were both exhibition games, so no, they're not worse at all.

People freaking out and talking about the NIT need to chill out. Was Michigan bad defensively? Yes. Did NJIT still hit several crazy shots and play way over their head? Yes. Zak Irvin shot 2-11. I'm going to guess that won't happen again.
Now, this team will either rally around this and bounce back as a much better team, or they have systemic issues and will crumble. My guess is that the players will develop as they have under Beilein and the consistency will come. Better now than during the Big 10 season.

nitpicking here, but i don't understand why beilein didn't try to extend the game. down one with 40 secs to go and NJIT ball. i would have tried for an early steal then fouled. not doing that, you're hoping to get a rebound at your own end with 5 secs left to get a shot off.
by fouling, beilein could have stretched the game out to 3-4 possessions in that last 40 secs.

Over the years that even when it's the basketball team that loses I feel nothing after a few minutes.

All these attempted justifications...
This was a horrible, pathetic, no-excuse loss. Nothing anybody can say makes this "ok."
