Michigan v. MSU Postgame Thread (discussion)
There are 126 posts here besides yours as I write this one, so somebody must care.
You're misinterpreting my comment. At the time of posting that picture, there were about 7 post game threads. The "I don't care" portion was in regards to the fact that I posted it in every single thread regardless of the redundancy of the gif.
HAIL Trey Burke, and GO BLUE! Feels so good to get a win over the East Lansing Thuggin' Men-In-Skirts.
Stauskas - was he injured?
He only played in the first few minutes before he was cut.
There's your problem right there. Stiches are an ineffecient way to heal wounds. The team doctor's should've known to just rub some dirt on it, he'd be back out there in minutes.

Get some leaves!
Elbow to the eye...12 sticthes...he came back to the bench at the end of the first half, not sure if he was on the bench for the second half
He was not on the bench for the second half
Go Ohio beat the hoosiers?
It would give us a shot at a split of the crown. But I have a sneaky feeling IU is gonna come out a little motivated to win it on their home court.
Ugh...makes that loss hurt that much more. We were controlling our own destiny. Now we need Ohio to help us...AGAIN (first time was them beating State at home).
who spit in your cereal?
I don't think there's anyone on this board that's not equally as pissed about PSU as they are happy about MSU. It's call being a fan and the harsh reality of sports.
If the alternative was beating PSU and losing to evil Sparty, I'll take what happened this year every time.
It's basketball; shit happens.
That analogy/scenario makes no sense.
Who would take a road win over the worst team in the conference over a victory at home vs. a hated rival and top 10 team in the country?
So that wasn't the alternative as you put it, of course you'll take what happened, we all would.
I'd take that win over any of our losses for that matter, including the loss @ IU. Beating a rival and a top 10 team just means so much more IMO.

You're still a moron and it still doesn't make sense. No one in their right mind would take a PSU win over MSU.
sorry you are a pessimist...
I tend to focus on the good.
I can't see your posts...because people keep negging them before I can read them.

Would then result in a four way sharing of the big ten championship when we beat Indiana. Has that ever happened before?
edit: It happened in 1926 (Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Purdue).
There was a four-way tie in 2002 (Wisconsin, Indiana, OSU, Illinois) although OSU had to later vacate the season.
It's what they do.
That was ugly as hell but a much needed win. I never thought I would see Michigan win a game, let alone against a top 10 team, without making a single 3-point shot. The best thing that I saw was fight and defensive intensity. Michigan played defense with intensity for 40 minutes. Sparty played awful on offense but so did we. Our defensive intensity kept us in and allowed us to pull it out. Now, we just need to put some offense and defense together to get it going in the right direction next week. Go Blue!!!!
Didn't know that.
That said, this could be a good thing. To beat a team like this when we don't play well, I take that as a glass half full type thing.
I thought we executed an offense (in stretches) better today than we have in a loooong time. Just multiple guys touching the ball, back cuts, etc. We did a much better job of running motion rather than relying 100% on Burke creating.

Well said. Feels like we outslowed them but got it done.
aaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssss!!!!!
Wins game despite being O-fer from 3 pt range. Most pts in paint MSU has allowed all year. No part of that makes sense but WOOOOO
When Burke missed the layup to go 12 I got a sinking feeling. Then ther refs went haywire for 2 minutes and it was a game. When they got a 3 pt play out of Costello's 1 ft airball, I thought we were doomed.
Same here. I liked him taking the shot but when he somehow missed it I had some bad premonitions. Possible 12 point lead then got widdled down to 3 and then tied eventually.
would have been the easier play. But I still expected Trey to make the dipsy-doo.
You just dealt a body blow to my soul. Widdled?!?!?!? The word you've heard in conversation but never seen in print is 'whittled.'
Thanks. I know this is redundant and probably unbelieveable (considering that gem above) but I'm a bit of a grammar/spelling nazi myself. Earlier when I typed that post I was going to go back and figure out how to actually spell that (in the heat of the moment I drew a blank on how to spell the damn word, it happens*), and edit the post. I forgot.
*For example I tried to spell Cincinnati a few months back and literally had no idea how it was actually spelled, ya know, all those n's, c's, and t's.
Yeah, maybe I am just being a party pooper, but my joy over winning is being seriously tempered by letting them get back in the game at the end. I think it was a mix of taking our foot of the accelerator, the refs, and making some bad decisions. I am happy we won obviously, but I am having a hard time getting over being pissed the f*** off that we let them back into the game at the end. I wish we could just really step on a good teams throat when given the chance instead of squeeking by like this.
Actually,. "Rather be on BA," you ARE being a party pooper. Please report to the restroom on the concourse...
Make your layup and you're up 12 points with 4:30 to go and the crowd going bonkers.
Probably 95% our fault, really. I didn't like some of the calls, but our sloppy play put us in that position to almost gag the game away.
Yup. We shot ourselves silly in the last few minutes. The lane violation on the free throw amidst a five-point MSU play would've loomed huge if we lost. Some sloppy ball handling. Missed FT's. Defensive rebounding.
Energetic defense made up for the other sloppy mistakes, though. That's the kind of defensive intensity I'd like to see carry through for the rest of the season.
Sparty knows how to fight hard. They do deserve a little credit for going hard the whole time.
Who cares. Let's beat the Hoosiers and win this conference.
We're 2 games back.
They come in our building...slapping our floor...and lost.
Why do I need to be gracious towards them?
I'm not saying we need to be all "fuck Sparty" and sore winners...but why can't we talk about OUR team and not give a shit about how hard the other team played?
