this may be of some local interest
You're the only one.
If so, it's pretty funny. If not, you are pretty strange.
"Brian Ellerbe is an up and comer"
Well sir, I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.
Hmmmm. Recent sign up date. Starting multiple inane threads. Upvoting your own thread. I'm not quite sure yet, but I'm guessing there is a depth chart coming up soon.
EDIT: Forgot, and the username is a proper name.
proper name? that is the name in Teen Wolf, sorry you are not up on your 80's movies.
I was bored, sorry, just wanted to see people's reactions, boy you guys are touchy in this forum.......
Proper name. First name, last name. Like Dwight Schrute, Nick Saban, etc.
+1 for Dwight Schrute reference
Don't forget the up-vote for himself on the previous thread.
You are literally the first person I have heard say that...
hahaha. not hardly.
Well, you joined in the last month and are acting like you know who that is, so....
no clue. sorry. i did join last month, seems like whenever someone is new or has an opinion on here people are not well liked....
This opinion isn't controversial... it's just useless.
It's the fact that we have had a few conversations about the halo over the last couple weeks and you started another thread on it. Just like somebody tried calling me out the other day when I was excited about the hockey game being on DirecTV. He asked where the hell I saw that when the original poster had a fucking link to it.
Well I apologize for not getting on here 24/7 and not having a chance to see all of the threads that are started or topics that are talked about. Is it that big of deal that someone started a new post and had an opinion about it?
Yes. It is a very big deal. This is srs bizniss. This is Michigan freakin' Stadium we're talkin' about here!
Also, is your signature leaving for the NBA on Monday?
The site search on the top right corner would be useful here.
Or you could realize that nobody in the world has something better to do than be on MGoBlog and give into the temptation.
I liked when we didn't have threads like this ... :(
I liked when we didn't use pictures in our "Signature" line.
I loved the halo. My wife bought me a huge picture of it.
So now I am a ruh-tard because I like the way something looked??? wow.
Negative, you're getting hammered for shitty post titles, adding no information in the OP, and up-voting your own posts--among other things.
I'd sit out for a little while.
I will take your advice, you guys are brutal on here. Sorry from one die hard Michigan fan to another. I will just read information on here instead of contributing an opinion.
This is the most intelligent thing you've said all night!
Maybe just take a little time out.
Sit back and watch for a week or two. Try to learn the ropes a bit? But you're not gonna.
I am trying to imagine that picture on Sept 10 2011....that will be a great sight that evening.
Watch out y'all. He has access to literally THOUSANDS of IPs.
than you can shake a negbang at.
This just proves how much you care about points.
Points and I cannot lie,
you boastin' posters can't deny,
When you get a posbang with an itty bitty neg
and that plus one is the reg
you get sprung!
Wanna-wanna posbang ya
and have a beer, dang ya!
Cool story bro
Continuing on this discourse can only end badly.
Of course, it has to end badly. All things end badly, otherwise they wouldn't end.
starting out is always hard. I would suggest perusing the older threads and see how discussions progress and add a thought here or there before starting one. You kinda have to get the feel of it. It's a good group. This isn't Sparty world where any thought will get praised. If you're going to start something it's best to either think it through first, have your facts together or at least contribute something that gets a good laugh.
Joinining in on a discussion is like wading into a cold lake. If you go slow, it's less painful and much more tolerable. You'll get the hang of it and all this will be forgotten.
Thank you for the advice. It is deeply appreciated, and again, didn't mean to bring any negativity onto this website guys. GO Blue!
Yeah, it's all about trying to contribute something. Read Brian's MGoBoard thoughts at the top of the site. Start there, and remember that the goal is to contribute new information of interest or new things that are entertaining. Emphasis on new...
For example, titling a thread as "Bo," including a picture, and saying you think he was great is a very agreeable sentiment here. However, it adds nothing to the community, because you presented no new info. Thus, it still sucks, regardless of it's excellent message. Bo was awesome.
It's the same idea with news. If it's more than an hour old, this board probably knows if it pertains to Michigan football in a significant way, so check old posts before you post something.
Finally, don't get in a fight on the board. One dude lost about 2000 points in an hour, so if someone pisses you off, say so in one post and move on--but be polite.
until this officially qualifies as a meltdown thread?
edit: on second thought, it seems like he's trying to mitigate the damage. not a melt down ime, but for the record the best way to mitigate damage is to refrain from posting for at least a few hours.
On a serious note, I wonder why they ever put the Halo up in the first place. You'd think that the drafts/designs or whatever they did for it would show how out of place and gaudy it looked so that they could just scrap the idea and move on, but whatever.
the architect, Robert Venturi, who designed it is very famous and has won very many prestigious awards. he wrote a book called Complexity and Contradiction in architecture in which he chided modern architecture for its lack of communicating to the populous, which in 1966 when he wrote it you couldn't really disagree with.
the point is that they didn't just farm this out to the janitorial staff. from what i remember of Goss' tenure, hiring the right people was not his strong suit, for architects eithher i guess. i never really liked venturi's work prior to the halo, but i think that the halo pretty much exemplifies the fact that the times have passed him by.
lines, then it would have looked much better.
I'm actually in an intro to architecture class this semester with no intention of continuing on to architecture, and having read many of Venturi's works for the class, I've gotta say I'm surprised he could come up with something so...horrifying.
You know, winning games and all.
The halo, not so much.
