Most of the questions have been answered already but thought I would chime in.
1st off- I work for a small web dev shop in Grand Rapids so hit me up if you're ever looking for work. We can do remote or I'm sure I can help you with introductions over in Metro Detroit.
2ndly- My wife is completing her Ph.D. in Science Education right now... She was an AP Bio teacher for a number of years and is super active in MSTA/NSTA and a crap ton of other science education groups in Michigan and across the U.S. I'm sure my wife would be open to chatting with yours and helping out with connections. Let me know.
Keep in mind folks that ticket prices have been dropping the last few days. I was able to get two off craigslist last night for face, I know I was lucky but I have a feeling a lot of people who are looking for 200+ a ticket are going to be disappointed.
I was doing some Christmas shopping at the good ol' Bed Bath and Beyond in Grand Rapids tonight and it sounds like these robots fall in the "beyond" category because they had a crap load of them in stock... You might want to check it out.
It's tough because the coaches offered him really early on so I am sure he is high on their list but I prefer Bryant and Walsh at this time...I'm excited to see how this plays out...
I've went the last three years without cable and it's pretty friggin nice actually. For the couple games each year that are on the BTN I just go to a buddies house or a BDubs and you're good to go there...Most other games are either on ABC or I can get on espn360 since I have AT&T DSL..I do miss Tigers baseball in the summer but at the same time there is something special about baseball on the radio...I enjoy being on the deck, grilling something good, drinking a cold beer and listen to the action from Comerica...
I absolutely love this idea...Urban farming is a great way for inner city residents to take an active role in the growing and harvesting of food to help with the war on hunger. Detroit is in need of radical changes and this would be a great start...
Like a few people mentioned earlier Grand Rapids is going after this as well and has made a pretty strong push through social networking sites like facebook and linkedin.....
I can't believe I read through 6 pages of this thread and there are no other Lowell Red Arrows around here, that's sad...I graduated in '99 and we were pretty decent in football and wrestling at the time. We were absolutely terrible at basketball my four years of high school, just terrible. In the past 10 years we have won three football state championships, three wrestling state championships and a couple equestrian state championships(never been to an equestrian match but there is a sign when you enter town claiming the state championships so I guess it must be true).
I agree that Bells and Founders have amazing beers but please don't forget about New Holland Brewing Company, they have some amazing brews including Dragon's Milk which is by far my favorite winter beer...

All of my real news and email I get through apps on my iphone so pretty much there is a rotation between the three sites listed above...
It's difficult for me to get too upset with DG dropping 80 spots or so because after the truly elite difference makers(top 20-30 kids) I do not see a big difference between the 31st ranked player and the 250th ranked player in the country.
With that being said I am truly amazed that we only have two players ranked in the top 250, we really need to win in 2010 because losing IS taking a tole on recruiting.
Speaking of his wife, someone posted her cell phone number on the Rivals.com mainboard last night..Lets just say that mailbox filled up pretty quickly...
Thanks man, I was a little hesitant to add the photo since they are out of Ohio but I figure Cincinnati doesn't really count, plus the stuff is flippin amazing. I live in West Michigan and they sell the canned chili in the stores now, making homemade three way all the time...
Thanks for the update Tom...Even with all the DB's we have in this class I really like Knight's film, the kid can hit like a ton of bricks. Here's hoping for a good visit this weekend...
If Pete does end up coming back he is not doing himself any favors by not returning recruits phone calls during a really difficult time for them. The fact that it took a few days for ANYONE from SC's staff to get back to a guy like Baxter seems absolutely crazy to me...
It has to be a crazy feeling for the kid right now...He thinks he has his mind made up, three days before he is supposed to enroll at USC it comes out that Petey is probably taking off. The kid would be dynamite in a winged helmet though, no doubt about it...
