Michigan at Nebraska scheduled for prime time
As expected, Nebraska has made this a night game. 7:30 ET kickoff.
September 27th, 2021 at 2:13 PM ^
2 back to back road tests coming up. Season could be "over" before we even get to Sparty. Nebraska doesn't seem to be as bad as everyone thought and are itching for a dub after so many close Ls. Wisconsin will be tougher on the offense than Rutgers was and well, it's in Madison.
September 27th, 2021 at 2:16 PM ^
We could also be undefeated going into the MSU game.
September 27th, 2021 at 2:18 PM ^
I'll take that action. Say $50?
September 27th, 2021 at 2:38 PM ^
So even though A) no one was offering a bet, and B) it's a cowardly bet for you to offer, considering that you're offering 1:1 odds for wins against two teams, I'll take you up on it.
September 27th, 2021 at 5:09 PM ^
I say this team won’t be undefeated going into MSU, he says they will. WTF is cowardly about that? I’ll hit you with my venmo dude.
September 27th, 2021 at 6:04 PM ^
He def didn't say they will be, he said they could be.
September 27th, 2021 at 6:18 PM ^
Because the odds are very clearly in your favor. I wouldn't take that bet.
Even if you think Michigan has 70% odds to win each game, it's at best a tossup as to whether they win both.
Michigan does not have 70% odds to beat Wisconsin. I'm not sure whether they even have that against Nebraska.
September 28th, 2021 at 9:38 AM ^
Hah! You're criticizing him because he proposed a bet the odds are he'll win? You expect him to propose a bet he's unlikely to win? I mean ... that's surely his point, no? That the odds are against being undefeated going into MSU? :-)
September 27th, 2021 at 4:48 PM ^
Michigan is going to lose by 18+ this week so that’s not gonna happen.
September 27th, 2021 at 5:04 PM ^
Thanks for this useful insight.
September 27th, 2021 at 5:10 PM ^
Thanks for this useful insight.
September 27th, 2021 at 6:20 PM ^
I'm not sure if Wisconsin can even score 18 points lol
September 27th, 2021 at 10:36 PM ^
Third time I've awarded the Don Slap since Saturday--it's a record.
September 27th, 2021 at 5:48 PM ^
a loss to wisconsin and nebraska and harabugh has to be gone. The season is another failure (thats 6 in a row for those losing count) i will not count his first season as that exceeded everyones expectations. I am optimistic we can beat both teams so heres hoping that happens and it doesnt come down to a firing this early
September 27th, 2021 at 10:04 PM ^
Better Nebraska than damn near anyone else in the league...why are you bitching?
It could be this weekend against Wisconsin. Which would you prefer?
September 28th, 2021 at 3:26 AM ^
If we don't learn how to stop a running QB, I'm not sure.
September 27th, 2021 at 2:18 PM ^
I'm focused on playing @ Wiscy first. One game at a time.
September 27th, 2021 at 2:40 PM ^
Good luck in practice this week!
September 27th, 2021 at 3:54 PM ^
Exactly. So many games are lost because the fanbase is looking ahead instead of preparing for the opponent immediately at hand....
September 27th, 2021 at 9:18 PM ^
Exactly, plus we don't watch enough film of the opposing team and prepare a game plan that exploits their weaknesses. If only we didn't decide in advance to run the ball up the middle.
September 28th, 2021 at 3:29 AM ^
At least we call the plays by committee.
September 27th, 2021 at 2:19 PM ^
Damn it. Obviously same time as my MGoWedding
September 27th, 2021 at 2:24 PM ^
Ouch - future wife won’t like the postponement
September 27th, 2021 at 2:28 PM ^
Fall weddings are crimes against humanity.
And also, congrats
September 28th, 2021 at 9:13 AM ^
I scheduled mine during the bye week of '19. It was nice to hear osu fans complain about the inconvenience.
September 27th, 2021 at 2:36 PM ^
Are you new to MgoBlog or have you not learned a thing???!!! Any wedding in the fall is blasphemy and against all things that are good and decent.
Also, congrats on the upcoming nuptials. I wish you a fruitful marriage :)
September 27th, 2021 at 2:40 PM ^
i agree 100%. I blame Covid. We didn't feel summer was going to be safe enough.
And thank you! Go blue!
September 27th, 2021 at 2:45 PM ^
Totally understand!
Putting all joking aside, you are putting your wife and family above your Michigan fandom. That takes guts. So, much respect to you sir!
September 28th, 2021 at 8:36 AM ^
"...you are putting your wife and family above your Michigan fandom."
And he's now and forever neutered. LOL!!! She'll always remember that she comes before Michigan - which is (needs to be) true, but letting her know this so early has it's own costs down the road. Next thing he knows, he'll be cleaning out the gutters during a game wondering WTF just happened...

Wisdom after 19 years of my too good for me wife sticking with me, don't bemoan the team after you are a few PBRs into the day/evening. I was married the day of a Notre Dame Michigan game. There was a television in the limo. We are watching the final seconds of the game and I state out loud, "This day sucks." Even the groomsmen gasped. Not my best moment.
Enjoy the day and many, many years of love, joy and laughs to you both!
September 27th, 2021 at 5:10 PM ^
My aunt and uncle got married the day of the Desmond tripping on the 2pt conversion vs MSU. I still remember sneaking out to the parking lot with the adults and listening to the final moments on the cars radio. I learned many new words that day.
September 27th, 2021 at 5:15 PM ^
Tripping? More like getting tripped. And pushed. And pulled. And held. And he still almost caught it.

I had a colleague whose fiancee scheduled their wedding for the afternoon of a UM-MSU game decades ago. It was in the pre-internet era, but my lovely wife had bought me a very expensive palm sized tv because I often had to work on Saturdays and could watch games at the office. Needless to say, I was the most popular guest at the reception.
September 27th, 2021 at 10:29 PM ^
This is now in my top 5 favorite wedding moments
September 27th, 2021 at 5:18 PM ^
You could have chosen the weekend of the 16th—Michigan has a bye that Saturday.
September 27th, 2021 at 4:34 PM ^
Unbelievable but true but last October 10 we went to a friend's wedding in Tuscaloosa.
It was an away game...
... but still. A Saturday wedding in SEC country?
September 27th, 2021 at 4:47 PM ^
Im calling bullshit - the idea of you having friends absolutely boggles the mind
September 27th, 2021 at 7:42 PM ^
You've always been and continue to be all class, DB.
September 27th, 2021 at 2:51 PM ^
First and foremost, congratulations!
Second, have you found a suitable look-alike to stand in for you while you are secluded somewhere watching the game?
September 27th, 2021 at 5:13 PM ^
Congrats on the wedding. No way to predict that it would be a night game when you scheduled it. It reminds me of my daughter being born on Nov. 20, 1999. She held out until Michigan beat Ohio State as I watched from the hospital room. Not to be outdone my son was born October 5th, 2002 and he waited until Michigan beat Penn St. to come into this world. Have to plan fall babies like you do fall weddings.
September 27th, 2021 at 5:51 PM ^
I was at a Detroit wedding during the 1st UTL. The wedding couple was very chagrined--they'd set the time of the wedding to start after any game...never thinking that there would be a night game. Lots of people gathered around a too small tv in the bar area.
September 27th, 2021 at 2:26 PM ^
Didn’t know they had lights in NE
September 27th, 2021 at 2:33 PM ^
FYI: I took a look at the Week 5 schedule and Nebraska has a home night game this Saturday against N'Western. It should be a must see game since we play each team consecutively.
Two other B1G 7:30 kickoffs; Indiana @ Penn State plus WKU @ Sparty.
OH State @ Rutgers at 3:30 will answer two questions; how good is Rutgers and how good is OH State?
September 27th, 2021 at 2:51 PM ^
I'll be extremely surprised if OSU doesn't run up and down the field on them. Playing Michigan was very poor preparation—the Buckeyes are going to pressure them in ways that Michigan doesn't apparently even know how to do, let alone want to do.
September 27th, 2021 at 4:21 PM ^
This is a really good comment, and really makes me think, so thank you.
I actually think Michigan wanted to pass up and down the field last year and that they thought Milton had the arm to afford them that opportunity, but for various reasons it didn't work. As a result, they didn't run the ball despite having a bevy of very good running backs.
This year, they have apparently come to the conclusion that last year was a total mistake and that we should run the ball into the hole until death do us part.
For some reason unknown to mankind, our staff apparently has not yet come to the realization that offensive powerhouses rely on a variety of run, pass and other options.
September 27th, 2021 at 2:41 PM ^
I think NE is in some time zone where it will still be light during prime time in the east.
September 27th, 2021 at 2:33 PM ^
Good - let's stick a big fork into Scott Frost on primetime - cause he's done. He and the Cornhuskers are pathetic.
Go Blue!!!
