More like open position drills and a few basic plays under the lights, if previous precedent holds...
Why am I not surprised?
You have to listen to Bill Burr's take on Yoko.
They've done this EVERY year, a real scrimmage, you already know this. They've also done it at night.
The only difference is that this is open to the public.
Enjoy the 50-60 snaps and STFU with your negativity.
Of course they've done a full scrimmage during fall practice, but the point is when the public is invited, everyone always expects these things to be full-blown scrimmages and they always just end up being pared down, bare-bones Fort Schembechler affairs.
Sure, it's cool it's a public event. But let's not kid ourselves, they're not going to show anything. I don't know why it's so controversial to point that out. Go, have a great time, but know what you're probably going to get. That's all.
Well, no one is forcing you to go. This is something that was not available before, and now is. So it's a net positive. Who peed in your lucky charms?

Wow. You apparently have a reputation but holy hell you got blasted for making a pretty factual statement, in a non-troll-ish way even.
Also, Movie Night for season ticket holders is the next day.
Sounds like they're planning a preseason weekend.
Does anyone know if it will be televised?
Sort of. BTN will have the scrimmage on in the background while they interview old players and get close-ups of Fred Jackson's head before cutting away with 45 minutes left.
from 50 yards away
plenty of Bo Denvers and Delante Hills to go around as well (less Delante Hills because of the injury, obviously)
I guess Hoke also announced this at his press conference tonight.
Heiko is gone right? Do we have anyone covering these press conferences?
I really don't know much, but supposedly interviews are underway for this - I think this is something that the blog needs to know as our connectivity to the program is somewhat affect by the presence / absence of someone in this position. I don't know about any timeline for a hire, but I do know that people have been interviewed for Heiko's position.
Of course he will be busy as a freshman, but I imagine WD would relish the opportunity.
Did I miss something? What happened to him?
Isn't he doctoring and such full time now?
Beyonce?!?
Wolverine Devotee is a young guy who just got done with high school, as I understand it.
Hoke on the scrimmage: "they want to play in front of people."

On the one hand, it will be awesome to see the team, but I assume that this will be just a bunch of position drills which would get boring after about 5 minutes. I'll just listen to what those who attend say.
Well I'll be got-damned if that isn't an awesome idea. Just when I thought Dave Brandon couldn't get any dumber, he went and totally redeemed himself!
...
...
LOLOLOL psych. But it's still a pretty cool idea.
[insert comment about Dave Brandon here]
Hmph
Hoke says right now they plan to keep Jabrill Peppers strictly at nickel. No plans to have him play safety at the moment.

Hoke mentioned that Watson is going to see more snaps. I'm not sure if he was always considered a safety or got moved over from CB.
Not getting on anybody, but at what point can we simply say "at night" instead of "under the lights"?
Brandon clearly trying to drum up hype, not that I am complaining.
I rather the students rush the field on 11/22 after Michigan throttles maryland to clinch the B1G East Division Championship instead.
Hey, I can dream can't I?
