I don't even remember the last time Michigan's DL drew a holding penalty. Obviously UM needs to play with more discipline, but there is a fairly consistent pattern emerging. Very hard for me not to believe there isn't a bias against Harbaugh and Michigan.

So, you think the Big Ten is in a conspiracy  with the referees to make one of their premier programs and largest revenue generators lose and get embarrassed on the national stage?

Does that tinfoil hat make it hard to get through metal detectors at the airport?

You rationalize simply to put nothing into context. See if you get something given to you it's because you believe that you deserve it. Some people on this planet believe that there is no such thing as global warming because they, can't see it! Get it? See it! Some people, hate reality. Do you believe that Penn State didn't hold our D-line? Do you believe that Alabama is so sound a program and are taught so well that they don't hold? I'll wait. There's proof out there that lots of things are very unfair in life. If you'd like I could give you proof of those things.

Do you think there's a conspiracy in college basketball NOT to call fouls on Michigan (except Wagner of course)? Because Beilein's teams consistently foul less than other teams.

Yes, the refs often suck, but it's so subjective and inconsistent and there's nothing to do about it anyway. And if you're taking an honest look at things, you at least have to admit we're all horribly biased.

What are the coaches supposed to do when Rashan Gary is getting held? Or when Trace McSorley turfs the ball 5 yards short of the LOS and doesn't get called for grounding? Or when Maurice Hurst legally tackles a QB but gets flagged for roughing?

There was no WR around and the commentators noted it. Watched replay on many of the big plays. Gary was obscenely held on multiple long passes; Hurst wa held on a lot of the middle runs. Their shitty line got away with hometown murder. Not sure if we would have won, still, but that dictated our defense’s ability to stop drives. PS weakness is line, so they neutralized our strength by swallowing the whistle.

PSU will get blown out by Meyer, and then UM fans will be scared to play OSU. We will beat OSU at home.

The "holding on every play" meme refers to linemen using their hands to grip which is technically holding but not in the unwritten rules if it's between the shoulders. There is most certainly not outright tackling and arm-barring on every play in football unless you're playing Taco last year, Gary this year.

Michigan hasn't done shit for over 10 years now. We have lost 8 of 10 to MSU and 12 of 13 to OSU. It will be 13 years since our last Big Ten championship which is the longest drought ever. We got our faces caved in yesterday. The fans honestly are very appreciative of what tiny successes we get like overtime wins vs. Indiana and and the rest of the garbage of the Big Ten. So get the fuck out of here with your "fan expectations" bullshit.

Who exactly is this "we" who got their faces caved in last night? You practice over the summer? You do two-a-days?

You haven't done a fucking thing so stop acting like you and your bullshit opinions have anything to do with the success of the team. Just shut up unless you can find it in yourself to say anything positive about a young team growing and getting better.

You're right about it being a young team trending in the right direction that deserves some patience and support. The problem is timing in that the fanbase has heard year after year and class after class that we are almost there, almost ready to contend, almost ready to reload instead of rebuild, etc. Each time we are left disappointed with no rings. The young guys out there now don't deserve the blame for it, but that's the nature of college football - blame what's currently in front of you.

First of all, using "we" is a common expression when describing the team you root for so don't even go there. All teams practice over the summer and work hard.

I never said my opinions matter for the success of the team but in any case why are you wound so tight that you can't bear to hear fan criticism? People criticize the teams they root for sometimes. Brian eviscerated Carr and Hoke and he routinely points out when players play badly or are just bad in general. I doubt he'll have all positive things to say about this team's performance.

They sucked ass yesterday, plain and simple. And Michigan hasn't won jack shit going on 14 years. It's okay to be mad about that as a fan, even if it doesn't change anything.

Seems like a silly reaction to a football game over which you have exactly zero input or control. So rage on, I guess, if that’s your deal but don’t act righteous about it or pretend it’s anything other than an overreaction to what is at the end of he play simply a game.

"What are the coaches supposed to do when Rashan Gary is getting held?"

Perhaps ypu didn't notice that several times our corners blatently interfered with PSU receivers and held them- but these penalties weren't called either.

PSU fans sure noticed

Which led me to one of three conclusions why this is:

1. We are a horribly coached team that doesn't know how to play the game correctly.

2. We are world-class cheaters.

3. Officials resent and do not like our school or our coach or both and stick it to Michigan and Harbaugh every chance they get either consciencely or subconsciously.

You choose which one is most likely.

Its one of the three possible reasons a team would consistently get more penalties than their opponents. Think about the Oakland Raiders circa 1970s if ur old enough. They ALWAYS got more penalties cause they always committed more penalties than their opponents and were proud of it.

Now i dont think thats the reason we consistently get more penalties but it is one possible explanation for why this keeps happening week in and week out.

What did everyone think was going to happen when coach went on a public tirade about the officiating in the OSU game last year? Delany surely is no fan of Harbaugh either.

Consequence of playing MANBALL?  It would be interesting to see where most of these penalties are coming from.

---

There is something uplifting about seeing Onwenu and JBB caving guys in on doubles and Onwenu sending guys to Bolivia on Power.  I'll take these bumps as long as in the near future we get to win AND physically demoralize teams 4-6 yards at a time.

It's what we are building off of.

Gentry doesn't have the hops and body control of Gesicki, and our Freshman receivers aren't at Hamilton's level.  There are no matchups vs slot DBs to exploit, spread isn't what we are building.

I'm looking at kick outs, doubles and pulls and seeing how they are shaping up for 2018 and beyond.  It's working but we also have to be competent with some downfield shots; screens and TE drag routes are not the intended payoffs of our manball.  Once we put this all together, it's going to be fun.

Good blocking on power is awesome. Not sure if u noticed jbb getting blown up on pass pro the other half of the game. On his ass three yards in the backfield. With a rb standing their like a deer in the headlights or whiffing on a block.

Being one dimensional Is killing the season. And there is no quick fix

We have a lot of round to make up. And Harbaugh needs to figure out his game plan soon.

I agree, pass pro is horrible right now.

Not to sound pessimistic but the ground doesn't look like it will be made up this season.  It feels like a 3-4 loss season with 'Any Given Saturday' rules applying against Ohio.  In the meantime, there are markers being met and we can see what Harbaugh is building towards

He needs to get a penalty for complaining to the refs... He seems entirely too reserved this year... Throw a jacket, a headset something show some emotion like you care
