Michigan #1 in FEI Special Teams Efficiency

A lot of articles have made comparisons of the offense and defense advanced metrics for the teams on our schedule.  I was curious how special teams also compared and decided to take a look at the FEI Special Teams rankings.

Overall ranking for key opponents...

#1     Michigan
#27   Penn State
#76   Ohio State
#93   Michigan State

Hats off to Jay Harbaugh, our two excellent veteran kickers, and the rest of the special teams players for giving us a distinct edge in the third phase of the game.

Love him to death but must say, he's the oldest looking 20-something I think I've ever seen.  Already bald, with wrinkles and a faded stache...  I'm going to assume he's already married with 3 kids, one of whom is already engaged.

I remember some lean years on special teams and am thoroughly enjoying the effort and results of our current ST group. Michigan has certainly had some legendary kickers, cover guys and return men and some of our current roster is right up there with the greats.

no surprise there. i am still shocked that both moody and robbins returned this year. could be earning big bucks in the nfl already. but i am sure glad they did.
