Michigan's Final Four Teamcast will be on TNT

Submitted by twotrueblue on

After hearing about Florida State's ridiculously good bench for two hours Saturday, we will be relieved to know that teamcasts will be offered for this Saturday's game. While the regular broadcast will be on TBS, Michigan's teamcast will be on TNT and Loyola's on TruTV. Announcers haven't been announced yet, but one would have to think that Chris Webber would be one of them.

Yea it was really annoying listening to Reggie and Kevin openly rooting for Florida State. Not sure how I feel about Webber calling a Final Four Michigan game. Seems jinxy.

we’re loving themselves some FSU. It was odd, I don’t know why that was the case but it was very noticeable. I am fine with the main crew though. Raftery loves himself some Michigan and we are 6-0 over the last two years in tournament play (BTT and NCAA) with Nantz, Raft, and Hill so I like it.

Yeah, that's the point.  If you watched the game, it did not match with the broadcast by the second half.

They were calling an imaginary game that was based on a pre-decided narrative, and they never changed it to reflect reality.

FSU was sitting on 40 futile points and all they were talking about was FSU game-deciding defense.

They ignored what was happening right under their nose . . . Michigan with it's regular rotation of "normal" athletes was out-defensing FSU's waves of uber-athletes.

The most wicked athlete on the floor was Z, and he barely got a mention.

When Wagner picked up his fourth foul, one of them said "The problem Michigan has now is that their bigs they have in now, Teske and Robinson aren't very good defenders." Which is ridiculous. It may not have been the best matchup for Robinson on defense, but FSU was going small so it wasn't terrible, and still he's at worst an adequate defender. Teske is clearly a superior defender to Wagner.

Every nanosecond of air does not need to be filled with lecture.  Say less, do more seems like a great idea, maybe we can send them some shirts. Like Raftery as well.

generally agree, but Grant Hill seems acutely aware that he is a third wheel and does not blabber. He really only talks when he really has an observation worth making and I usually like hearing it. There are notable stretches where I forget he is on the call. I like him in the mix.

All games are available via the March Madness app on your phone or tablet or via the March Madness website on your computer.  CBS games are the only ones not available on streaming devices such as Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV.

If you thought FSU was bad, wait until you get a load of media darling Loyola Chigaco.

The over / under on when they will be compared to Mother Theresa and we will be compared to the Unibomber is 2:30.

I may have to watch the entire game on TNT.

If I start on TBS, I'm sure I'll be out by the third minute.

Agreed. I myself have enjoyed their finishes this March, but the media slurpage of The Fightin’ Sister Jeans had already gotten to ridiculous levels before the previous round. Their Final 4 coverage is going to be out of control, and the result will be an entire country (save for our own base) rooting against M. Also, not to discount their run as a double digit seed, but the Cinderella hype is being a bit sensationalized - they actually have some pretty deep roots. Not only is this now the fourth time an 11 seed has made the Final 4, but Loyola has actually been there before...and won the entire tournament back in the ‘60s. So, yes, Loyola-Chicago has exactly as many national titles as M. Oh, and they apparently have the all-time best winning percentage of any school in NCAA tournament history (with more than 5 games played), having just passed Duke this weekend.

Saturday night I synched up the TV with the Westwood One national radio broadcast on my phone and ran that through Bluetooth to my sound bar. Much better experience. I've always liked the national radio guys better than the TV guys.

I think Jimmy King will get the call, Turner has had multiple opportunities to put Chris at a site Michigan was at and they chose not to. I think this continues in San Antonio.
