MGoBloggers in London
So I'm stranded over here in London for the duration of the football season, and wanted to know if there are any MGoBloggers out there with some inside information about where to watch games. There apparently used to be an Alumni club in London, but it now appears to be defunct.
If you know of a bar or you'd like to meet up, let me know.

EDIT:
Apologies to the board, as I know this sort of thing is looked at with slanted eye. I posted it in the morning here in GMT-land so as to avoid clutter when most of the folks who read the site were asleep. Also, the bar locator did not provide any relevant information for London - I checked first, honest. The one bar listed (Harry J. Beans) is a general sports bar with American sports on offer, but does not have any specific ties to UM. Probably should have mentioned that in the first place.
Anyway, carry on, y'all. Mods can feel free to disintegrate this at any time.

Warning: Massive amounts of posters are about to tell you that there is a Bar Locator under the "MGoBoard" tab. They will be very snarky and sarcastic. Be prepared for a total meltdown. Good luck in London.

I'm in Luzern for the whole season...unless we make it to Pasedena, that is.
I'm not even going to try to find an M-friendly bar, since these nonnies have no clue what real football is.

But try to jump a train to Lautterbrunnen if you are able. It is an amazing place to visit.

I'm hoping I can get by on a steady dose of apps and links posted on this board to see the games...

they typically have a space at a bar where they stream the games at different bars in the west end.

We will be watching the game at the Sports Bar and Grill in Victoria station this weekend. You can join our facebook group here: link.

Appreciate the response - will get on that right away. I was put off by the fact that the website for the London alumni club was a few years out of date.

I highly doubt you will be able to get a live televised M game in England. You will have to stream the game.

I can't be of any help to you in relatin to watching UM games but as far as being stranded goes, I can't thnk of a better place to be stranded in. London is probably my favorite city that I have visited and love going back whenever I get the chance.
I see someone has helped you with a location to watch the game so you have your fix on that front and other than that I will say just enjoy the city. It's a great place and the surrounding countries are easy (and cheap) to visit. Make the most of your time there, and GO BLUE!

Like you say, stranded in London is not the same as stranded somewhere really beyond the pale, like Columbus. The city is definitely great, even though it's so, so expensive.
Go Blue, mate.

I don't love the place, but The Sports Cafe in Piccadilly/St James has two floors with TVs on every surface and is known for showing American sports. When I went about 5 years back, I recall that they would have, for example, the "Texas Exes" on one section of the floor, Michigan alums in another portion, etc. I went there to watch Michigan football games several times.

But in the Abruzzo region of Italy I know of a few places.

Rather than start another thread and get negged to high heaven -- although the Bar thread doesn't cover my question (nothing listed for Paris). I'll be in Paris Saturday night -- is there a place there to watch the game?? I'm staying near the Opera House.

go out and enjoy the wonderful city, great food, and marvelous french girls on a samedi soir.
The CMU vs Michigan game will exist on the internet afterwards and you can veg in front of your TV anywhere else in the world, just not in Paris please.

This is about my 15th visit to Paris. I've got nice dinner reservations and then would be happy to sit and watch a game starting about 10 pm (which if I've got the time changes down should be late first quarter).

There is a group in Paris as well. I have never gone to any of their events but they have a facebook page as well which you could use to check regarding game viewing: link.

There is a facebook group for London Michigan Alumni. There will be a game watching at Victoria station bar at 8:30 this saturday. I live about an hour outside of London so I don't go there too often but I might be watching a game or two down there.

Super jealous of you MGoExPats, and wish I had been smart enough to ask a question like this when I was studying abroad in London. At the time I just figured it was hopeless and streamed games on my computer.
