META: MGoPoints Leaderboard
Yes, because I'm a competitive prophylactic, I'm curious to know who stands atop the MGoPoints standings.
On a broader note, has there been discussion around tiers of users on the site based on points accrual, something similar to a "verified user" on twitter, a mini-moderator, or something else along those lines? Not sure if that would encourage better or worse discourse, or even provide some support for the mods that spend non-trivial amounts of time managing this here Web Page.
The second rule is points don't matter.
But I use mine for travel miles.
ssshhhh don't ruin it for us brah
Humbly, I don’t want to upset the other members of this blog…

RIP to the troll legend.
They say em0 is still posting depth charts to this day in MgoBlog heaven.
Points are not a big deal. The quickest way to earn them is through creating content.
At one point, WD was +1,000,000 for getting that shit bird Dave Brandon fired.
also, the blue checkmarks on Twitter are sooo cool.
I actually miss that guy. I'm hoping he's allowed back at some point.
If you're missing his immature, look at me, passive-aggressive takes, you can get your fill on his Twitter or r/michiganwolverines.
A more interesting post would be those MIA bloggers. I remember 10 years ago, a lot of the regulars with high points do not post any longer. I'm sure some got kicked off the blog, others may have ran out of free time. Some like Mineral King have left after graduating.
I've been posting here fairly regularly for 14 years. I remember the Haloscan/funkymoses days. I remember The Horror. I remember Ennui the Otter. I remember the 12-hour tenure of Coach Greg Schiano. I remember Peanut Butter Jelly Time. I remember the Freep boycott. I remember that there is no evidence Craig James killed five hookers while a student at SMU. I remember how Brady Hoke boosted the sales of Michigan jerseys in Ohio.
If you don't know, you better ask somebody.
Wait, the Free Press boycott ended?
I think when the leaderboard still existed, I was in the top five or so. I don't remember who was in front of me except I think Wolverine Devotee had a bunch of points for helping to get Dave Brandon fired.
You should post content, maybe about recruiting or something. You’ll get more points towards your free MGoShirt. Just an idea...
I'm still a little too nervous to put myself out there and post any threads. I'm afraid of what people might think.
Yup you were. And I'm pretty sure I kept you company.
I remember at some point I broke into the top 10 and was momentarily excited before realizing that I had a problem. Clearly that moment of self-reflection didn't stick.
Did you say something about points?
Points are worthless.
Join Date, however... yeah that's the ticket!
Username checks out....JK! I can see our HC saying the same thing...NK.

The true tao te blog is to have been here forever, slowly accruing a reasonable amount of points but never being referred to by anyone except directly in response to something you say.
That was my philosophy during basic training in the Army. I wanted to participate just enough that I wasn't looked at negatively but also not do too much to draw attention. Tried to be mostly invisible to anyone that mattered!! Kinda how I approach my participation on this blog!
You volunteered this thought?! Never volunteer in—or about?—the Army!
It was mandatory that I volunteered this information. Much like all those blood draws and other details that I was "volunteered" for!!
You rang?
I think this describes my presence here pretty well.
Feels like you're describing me.
agreed.
join date supremacy!
There was, in a previous iteration of the site, a page where you could view the user listing complete with points. I am pretty sure I was in the first page or two, but I would have no clue what those listings look like now. I wonder if Seth can publish the table, if you're really curious.
I scrambled to get to 1,000 points
because I don’t have a life.
There were over 1,000 folks ahead of me then.
If points were valuable, I would sell mine
?

A double post is worth double points.
What I've gathered over the years is that some individuals who have the most points shouldn't share their opinion for every damn thing.
In my opinion, you're wrong.
I agree with Magnus.
Also, there should be no shameless self-promotion of other websites.
However, Google, et al should allow Sexy bits/Sexy pics on such shamelessly self-promoted websites.
There's some way for me to pull that but I forgot how. Is it this lever...or this lever.... or...
[flushes everyone's points forever]
SELECT SUM(MgoPoints) AS TotalMgoPoints, UserName FROM Members WHERE bolivia = 0 GROUP BY UserName ORDER BY TotalMgoPoints DESC
or something like that.
SELECT SUM(MgoPoints) AS TotalMgoPoints, UserName FROM Members WHERE bolivia = 1 GROUP BY UserName ORDER BY TotalMgoPoints ASC
would also be a fascinating list.
this guy sql's
I thought it was CTRL + ALT + Delete.
Bourbon barrel aged and somewhat buzzed points are the best points imo.
