JR's Flow

I know Stu and Novak are Grit Warriors, but Taylor looks like he has regressed heavily from last year. In fact, Wisconsin as a whole seems down a couple notches.

It's why it's so annoying to me when you hear Sparty's talk about how great their basketball program has always been, and they act like it's always been MSU then Michigan. When up until the Fab Five stuff broke, the teams were even in National Titles but Michigan had more Final Four's.

Too soon to say Burke is better than Morris? Definitely better as a freshman. And better for the offensive scheme. Has definitely lived up to the hype.

Looks as though their going to finally close a game out well, not let these Badgers creep back into it. THJ, good things happen when he goes to the rack, good game today. Novak, baller! Stu played well as his role allows. Burke played great, controlled the point and took his shots, and hit them. Didn't see early on in the game, but 2nd half Morgan looked good, did well on the boards, good physical presence for the most part. Smotz, man. Last foul I saw was weak, but this fouling problem needs to fix itself, need him on the floor. I personally think he'll come around 2nd half of the season. Great defense today, Belein had them ready to bounce back after the IU loss.

Nice victory, but I'm not sure how nice it will look by the end of the season.  Wisconsin looked awful out there (some is credit to Michigan, but geez they looked bad).  They have also already lost 2 games at home in Big Ten play to MSU (understandable) and Iowa (whaaa?).  They don't have to go to OSU or to Indiana, which is lucky, but they could very well lose those two games at home as well.  They also got beat at home by Marquette.  Right now their best resume builder is a 3 point loss at UNC.

But their bigs aren't as good as they were in the past and outside of Taylor they don't have many threats.  The whole team just doesn't shoot as well as they have in the past (and really under performed today).  I think this will be a down year for them and doubt they end the season ranked.  They'll probably be somewhere on the comfy side of the bubble.

I haven't seen them play too much before today (saw their loss at Iowa) but they aren't a typical Bo Ryan team his year. You're absolutely right, they lack the bigs his year. They have a few guys who can shoot, but not of the caliber of even last years team. Jordan Taylor is still a great collegiate pointguard, but he is limited with his surrounding cast being depleted and not as talented as years past. Its tough to see the Wisconsin team we saw today make a run at the NCAA tourney though. Who's to say though, much more basketball to play.

It would be nice to see a "signature" win.  Like you said, I don't think this is it.  They have to win one of the 5 games against OSU, MSU or Indiana.  Or else, they might end the season without a win against a top 25 team (Memphis isn't looking good, and I don't think Wisconsin will end the season in the top 25).

to bounce back after a tough loss @ IU. We are one bucket away from being on top of the B10 standings.

Wisconsin to 41 points, their lowest output of the season. Their next lowest was 54 points in a loss against Marquette.
