There can be only one...
October 28th, 2023 at 4:51 PM ^
On this topic, I think we should have as many as possible.

Fire Howard!
Wait, fire Martelli!
Wait, they won?

Not to invoke Bill Simmons, but Ewing Theory?
October 28th, 2023 at 4:56 PM ^
Simmons was hit or miss for sure, but I did like the idea of the Ewing Theory. In this case, there might be two instances.

J. R. Ewing?

Spoiler alert: It was all a dream!

I used to read Word Up! magazine.

Me and Connor Stal writing 600-page manifestos...
Nah, wait, I think I messed that up.

Good news!

Q1 win!
October 28th, 2023 at 4:49 PM ^
Can we see the game? Did CS have someone record it?
Kidding aside , Go Blue! This is great news!
October 28th, 2023 at 4:57 PM ^
We had their signs.
Northwood better look out.
October 28th, 2023 at 5:04 PM ^
Apparently 115-111 with NBA timing (4 12 minute quarters).
October 28th, 2023 at 5:18 PM ^
I choose to believe this means Michigan wins the trifecta, the NCAA gets off our jock, and Stallions realizes his dream of being a secret agent.
October 28th, 2023 at 5:51 PM ^
Give Stallion something to do on the bb team. He's being paid anyway.
October 28th, 2023 at 5:23 PM ^
Good to get a win, but 115-111?
Was any defense played?

Look at the bright side. If you watched the maize 'n blue scrimmage from a few days ago, there was decent defense and very little offense. If they can score 115 points they must be able to shoot.
October 28th, 2023 at 5:33 PM ^
I don't think so, Bob.
October 28th, 2023 at 5:34 PM ^
I’m not going to lie, it’s a long, cold, boring winter up here when MBB sucks. I hope to be surprised this year.
October 28th, 2023 at 5:49 PM ^
I think we'll have a sneaky good season without Hunter.
October 28th, 2023 at 7:27 PM ^
No one should be shocked if we do. Our defense becomes much much better.
October 28th, 2023 at 6:03 PM ^
I’m told the main reason was that Martelli finally let TWill cook!

Who is downvoting this?
October 28th, 2023 at 6:22 PM ^
I was told we would be Rutgers this year. Did we play twice? And is there a video buried somewhere?
October 28th, 2023 at 6:27 PM ^
Good news. Hopefully they can gel this year and surprise some people.
October 28th, 2023 at 6:38 PM ^
Are we…good?

Hearing Reed 35 and 24

I think they're going to have some shooting droughts, but if Tarris is really going to be effective--as it looks like he was today--then we've got three legit players (Olivier, Dug, and T.) and possibly enough supplemental talent to be effective on a given night. If YoYo, too, is for real, then we will challenge people; we've got a lot of height, too.
After listening to the disparaging remarks here, I approached the intersquad scrimmage with trepidation, but thought that they were better than people were saying. Personally, I'll be supporting them anyway! That's my school!

I've been so buried in football that I haven't had the time nor the inclination to think about basketball. Sounds like we can score the buckets. I like that and hope we can get to the NCAA tourney this season. It's such an exciting time.
October 29th, 2023 at 2:32 PM ^
The "expert" opinion coming into the season has been that Michigan will be a tough and improved defensive team but might struggle to score.
October 28th, 2023 at 7:56 PM ^
I mean, it's a scrimmage so take from it what you want but I do think this team will be different than the last couple of years in terms of their approach and I'm excited to see how it looks even if the ceiling is probably bubble team.
October 29th, 2023 at 11:24 AM ^
Yeah, we're definitely not close to being a top 5 team, and this scrimmage result doesn't change that, but it does mean we have a real opportunity of going to the dance which is a lot more than I thought before seeing this result.
October 28th, 2023 at 7:59 PM ^
Encouraging bit.
October 28th, 2023 at 8:22 PM ^
I'll take any positive news relative to the basketball team! Thanks
