MBB snowflakes

I hope you don't mind me starting this, LSA... Sindarius Thornwell had one more assist and only two fewer field goals than Michigan's entire team. This strikes me as an undesirable balance. Are Walton and Irvin just not guys who can lead a team over a long stretch?

He played two very solid games in New York. Irvin isn't a star but this is some over the top reactionary hyperbole you're using here. Irvin would start on pretty much every team in the country. He leaves something to be desired as your #1 scoring option but your assessment in regards to his talent versus the rest of the countries is flat out incorrect.

Hopefully we got all our shitty Michigan sports play out for the remainder of the long weekend and there are only good times ahead... right? RIGHT?!?

bipolar group of fans we got here. One minute "WE'RE GONNA WIN DA BIG TEN!!" Next minute you're calling to fire Beilein. It's a process fellas.

Meh.  We shot like shit.  One of those days.  Not overly concerned.  They were able to get open and get looks, and played pretty decent D.  Doesn't really change my expectations or feelingsball on the season so far.

Wait. You just posted above that Michigan has finished in the Top 100 in FG percentage (Top 50 in eFG pct) in six of the last seven seasons, proving that what we saw today was an anomaly and not a sign of systemic problems. What's next? Are going to make a total fool of yourself and complain about Michigan's high rate of turnovers in this game?

South Carolina played tenacious D, rebounded like crazy, and made enough shots to coast.

Michigan is always cursed by the very thing that teases M fans into thinking they're better than they are-3 pt shooting. The O is stagnant in the half court without an effective PnR game. If the team doesn't D rebound, stagnant O will be a thing and always be dependent on 3's. The D this year has led to offense, which has been promising.

Two assists is hilariously bad. It's hard to do that on purpose, let alone have it actually happen as a random thing. But for an offensive genius like Beilein to not have alternatives ( such as running shooters off staggered screens, forcing ball to low post and work in to out) is interesting. But that is what happens when this team trends to its default: dribble and pass around perimeter until someone jacks up a poor shot off the dribble.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I expect more out of a Michigan program. While I'm not sure just making the tournament should save his job, not making it should result in his firing

played great on defense, gotta rebound better tho. It was one of those nights shooting the ball, we'll regroup and get back to playing good ball. I still believe we can be a top 3 team in the B1G.

Irvin had one of the worst games I've ever seen. 2 of 13 and 8 turnovers.  Walton wasnt a ton better. Hard to overcome performances like that from your 2 senior leaders.

Michigan scored more than half our points from the line, and had 32 attempts.

Our defense was far better than previous Beilein teams, and we had 4 fewer rebounds than one of the best O-rebounding teams in the country.

We lost today because we couldn't shoot at all, passed poorly and didn't move well away from the ball.

Mostly shooting.

Yes, it was a horrible performance.  But let's not start packing it in just yet.  We looked decent in New York.  It's highly unlikely that we'll shoot that poorly again.  We will definitely bounce back, I don't doubt that.  Nothing personal, but I do look forward to Irvin graduating.

I look forward to the next game against St. Mary's.  But want to see how we do on the road against UCLA in a couple of weeks.

GO BLUE!!
