It’s about time RU stops being the RPI Black Hole of the conference- good for them.

I guess it's time to shutter the Seton Hall conference room.

Iowa, Wisky and Indiana not so much.
Also #10 Xavier in trouble against ETSU and NC State lost to UNC Greensboro.

tied with ND in overtime. Would be another huge nonconference win for the B1G.
And Juwan Morgan, the guy that killed Wagner, has been absolutely unstoppable so that makes me feel better.
EDIT: What a finish!!! Game of the year so far in college basketball, with Gus Johnson calling it. Man, I love college bball.

Rutgers can't get elite athletes because it's Rutgers not because of academics. They are nothing special in the Big Ten as far as academics go

I never thought I'd say that.

I'm not disagreeing. I'm just commenting it must have been pretty ugly. And based on raw stats, it may have been even uglier than that Texas game, which is quite an accomplishment.

The new coach has been great for Rutgers. They've been improving consistently and I don't think they'll be an easy win for anyone anymore. I think they can make it to the NIT this year hopefully, and have a winning record.

We like to make fun of Rutgers, but there are B1G programs in much worse shape in both football and basketball

They were rated #2 in the country when we beat them. They cannot be all that bad, and the win over the name cachet mean something as well. It was a great win, and will be so at the end of the season.

because Cinci is really good (#12 kenpom) and was favored to win even at UCLA. UCLA was never going to be a great win, but it should remain solid.

I was at the game. As Bronx Blue pointed out, Rutgers only shot 34% from the field and 64% on free throws. Rutgers gritted this one out with 19 offensive rebounds, 10 steals and 6 blocks and forced 18 turnovers. Rutgers held Seton Hall to 23 points in the second half. One thing for sure is Rutgers will bring the effort when Michigan plays them. They play hard.

Michigan is an academic powerhouse! Average at football and basketball.

IU just beat ND in OT after being down 14. Couple nice wins for the Big Ten today.

I listened to an analyst a few years back discuss the black hole that is Rutgers. He made a compelling case that Rutgers could be very good at basketball given their access to the NY talent market and to a lesser extent Philly.
Basketball doesn't require as many stars as other sports to be successful, just less misses. 2 or 3 players can get a team to the sweet 16 with decent coaching.
