At least the game is over and now we can enjoy our week and look forward!
*looks at Tuesday, Nov 3 on calendar*
Ah, fuck
November 1st, 2020 at 3:28 PM ^
Also my birthday. I plan on getting wasted, which is not something I even do anymore. The only question is the booze. I'm thinking whiskey.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:57 PM ^
Now that's the spirit. Whiskey. With a whiskey chaser.
November 1st, 2020 at 6:29 PM ^
Highly recommend Four Roses Single Barrel...
November 1st, 2020 at 4:25 PM ^
What’s wrong with Tuesday?
November 1st, 2020 at 4:31 PM ^
ha ha
lots of people will be unhappy is one way to look at it, no matter what you personally think or support
November 1st, 2020 at 4:38 PM ^
I’m fucking dreading it and also just want to get it over with at the same time
November 1st, 2020 at 3:04 PM ^
Meh. Exhausted rooting for a middling program with all the resources in the world.
Now we can stress about a team that we should be beating by 3 TD's in Harbaugh's 6th year, but they will play us well because we have huge holes in recruiting, shit player development, and a D-coordinator who only knows how to sweep the leg.
No excitement at all about watching us potentially lose to another talent deficient, (should be inferior) opponent.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:18 PM ^
I think we exaggerate our resource advantage over other programs.
Yes, we have more money than the other B1G programs besides OSU and PSU. But now you throw in several SEC schools, ND, Clemson, Texas, OU, USC . . . we're not really richer than them. Even if we technically brought in more money, on paper, their boosters would step up to the plate in any bidding war. A place like Georgia or LSU will not let itself be outbid by Michigan.
We're one of like 12-15 programs that have a lot of money. And we have a worse recruiting base than almost all of the others.
November 1st, 2020 at 5:55 PM ^
"Sweep the leg" guy is spot on. INDIANA wins by 17+ ?
November 1st, 2020 at 3:05 PM ^
Go blue - another B1G opportunity is in front of us
November 1st, 2020 at 3:05 PM ^
That's a no from me dog. IU gonna tap that with ease.
November 1st, 2020 at 4:37 PM ^
Penix is going to whip his balls all over the field. Michigan has no shot.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:05 PM ^
First time in years I will actively seek out other things rather than watching this program. Life is too short to waste 3 valuable hours of a weekend on a coach who cannot make his players better.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:30 PM ^
I honestly enjoy wasting those 3 hours. I need some time wasting in my life. That is why I spend time on this blog. Low stress entertainment.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:57 PM ^
Agreed. I’m doing the same. Saturday will be bow hunting in the morning and evening, splitting a cord of wood in between. I would rather be productive with my Saturday than ruin my Saturday watching this team. It’s not worth it anymore.
It’s like being in a relationship you know isn’t the one, so you’re just wasting your time.
November 1st, 2020 at 4:28 PM ^
This is, I suspect, going to be a strong take from an awful lot of people in the post-COVID world (once we get there) about a lot of things like this. I saw the score before I started to watch it, turned it off, and haven’t revisited it since or had one ounce of being upset about it. There are just more important things.
November 1st, 2020 at 4:50 PM ^
These games actually go no less than 3:45. Times 8 or 9 games and you waste 6 more hours for every 8 games played.
November 1st, 2020 at 5:15 PM ^
Supposed to be highs in the 60’s on Saturday. If that holds, I plan to enjoy my time outside instead of reserving 3-4 hours indoors to watch the game. Time enough for that on replay if it turns out well, or to watch games live when the weather turns ugly later on.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:07 PM ^
Harbaugh loses this game, and he's essentially sealed his fate.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:13 PM ^
I am convinced he could go 1-7 and he wouldn't get fired. This administration doesn't have the guts.
Only way he leaves is on his own.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:22 PM ^
I agree they won't fire him, however his and Don Brown's contracts both expire at the end of the 2021 season, so they'll just bide their time and not renew.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:29 PM ^
Can’t recruit with a lame duck coach. Need to fire JH at the end of the year if you go that route bc you won’t be able to recruit anyone if his deal is not renewed with a year ledt
November 1st, 2020 at 3:58 PM ^
When the entire fan base is behind the idea of firing Harbaugh, the administration can feel better about doing it.
November 1st, 2020 at 4:16 PM ^
Is it that they don’t have the guts or don’t have the interest? I see it much more as the latter. As long as the football program doesn’t land on his desk as a problem he has to deal with, Schlissel doesn’t care and Warde won’t let his buddy go. So here we are.
November 1st, 2020 at 4:15 PM ^
Will feel hoke-like in his final year! Just lose so we can let you go!!!
November 1st, 2020 at 3:09 PM ^
We're still ranked because it helps them sell this matchup. #13 VS #23 is more appealing than #13 VS unranked.
There's no way they'll be able to keep us in after the ensuing shitshow, though. IU wins for the first time in my life.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:12 PM ^
I'm surprised we're ranked, but the average AP voter isn't going to care about FS1's ratings for the game.
Besides, you could use this argument for any team playing on TV.
My guess: they think the blowout of Minny means something, and chalk up yesterday as a weird rivalry game.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:10 PM ^
23? That’s generous. Hope IU smacks em and Harbaugh gets the fuck out.
Let’s get after it? More like: Let’s get it over with.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:40 PM ^
I have the opposite attitude. I hope we smack the shit out of IU and snap out of the MSU game coma. I would be thrilled to see some spark on both sides of the ball. That's what I want to see.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:12 PM ^
I bet Michigan rises up and wins, which fools peoples to thinking this is an actual good team.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:26 PM ^
Shhhh...don’t tell the coaches this is a road game against a top 15 team.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:32 PM ^
We will win. IU is ranked because of a very fluky win over PSU in which they were outgained by over a 2-1 margin. And it won't exactly be a road environment.
What will happen is there will be lots of "Where was this last week?" posts.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:49 PM ^
I’m fairly sure Michigan will win, but it shouldn’t change the impression of where the program is at.
I’m in the camp of Warde letting Harbaugh know every game is a verdict on his job this year, especially against OSU. If he finishes the rest of the schedule unbeaten, I can chalk yesterday up to “crap happens”. Another loss to OSU and adios. 0 - 6 vs OSU doesn’t cut it no matter how great of a representative for the school Harbaugh is.
November 1st, 2020 at 4:08 PM ^
So, if Michigan goes 5-3 and beats OSU (maybe COVID factors in) - would you keep him?
November 1st, 2020 at 4:31 PM ^
If Michigan beats OSU? If I can find and capture a unicorn, Bigfoot, or the Loch Ness Monster I’ll be rich!!
November 1st, 2020 at 4:40 PM ^
No - as stated, if he wins the remaining games on the schedule.
November 1st, 2020 at 4:33 PM ^
Snarling. I am waiting for the “where was this last week” post. Means we won and looked good.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:14 PM ^
Oh boy, our road record as the underdog (playing a higher ranked opponent) under Harbaugh is quite bad, believe it is 0-8 ?!
November 1st, 2020 at 3:24 PM ^
There are no real road games in a Covid year.
November 1st, 2020 at 5:21 PM ^
Agree. The loss yesterday was bad but it wasn't a "home" loss. The media narrative on that is BS.
They might as well have been playing at pioneer high. There is pretty much no home advantage this year.
November 1st, 2020 at 6:52 PM ^
Agree 100%. There is no 'home' advantage this year. It's almost an advantage to be the road team.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:19 PM ^
I'm rooting for our team, Harbaugh. But we all know what is going to be targeted in this game: the secondary. I'm going to puke if all we do is man coverage and get burned again and again.
This might be Don Brown's last season if we keep on embarrassing the defense.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:23 PM ^
After last year's OSU game, he should have been shown the door for a younger, hungrier, higher IQ, better recruiting D-coordinator.
Shit the bed 2 years in a row against OSU with the same exact game plan. Get beat, sure. No adjustments, you're a fucking moron. Yesterday was on Brown more than any other player or coach. Brown will be Harbaugh's undoing.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:36 PM ^
Also: the DTs are vulnerable to interior running. Run inside, throw outside. Profit.
November 1st, 2020 at 5:34 PM ^
IU is about to force Don Brown into retirement. I bet they score 30+. Question is, can Josh Gattis convince Jim to let him drive the offense on his own?
November 1st, 2020 at 3:20 PM ^
I think there’s a real possibility we blow the doors off of Indiana. The team is either pissed or dejected. We’ll find out which this week.
November 1st, 2020 at 3:23 PM ^
Boring...
November 1st, 2020 at 3:24 PM ^
Tom Allen hates and usually has a good game plan for Michigan.
He will pour it on if he can.
I'd set the line at Indiana -7 if I were a bookmaker
November 1st, 2020 at 3:51 PM ^
Just looked at the line. Started Michigan -2 and up to Michigan -4. Surprising to me.
