How long is awhile?

EDIT: Someone posted same pic below.

All Wolverine lineman have been wearing braces for a while now...

As stated above, nothing new.
August 31st, 2014 at 10:49 PM ^
Then why post what you did if you're just repeating what someone else said?
August 31st, 2014 at 11:48 PM ^
Because that kid is so obsessed that his word is way more authoritative than anybody else's.
August 31st, 2014 at 10:34 PM ^
Most or at least very many teams require their O-lineman to wear knee braces and have for a while now.
August 31st, 2014 at 11:19 PM ^
How do you know? How long is "a while"?
September 2nd, 2014 at 10:41 PM ^
Well, I would know because I watch football and knee braces aren't stealthy accessories. I know even more because when I played high school football as an OL over 10 years ago (which was before player safety was taken as serious as it now is), it was required for all OL to wear them. So at least that long ago.

robots that inject into the neural network of the lineman so that people control them remotely.
September 1st, 2014 at 8:57 AM ^
crist, that makes me feel even worse about last years OL.
September 1st, 2014 at 9:32 AM ^
I hope this is true because it gives me hope Funk was playing World of Warcraft during games last year with the same remote he was supposed to be using to control the OL's movement, and then Hoke told him no more of that this off season.

Shoulder pads - Great for football, lousy for swimming

Is this where we're posting the new Upton nudes?
August 31st, 2014 at 10:43 PM ^
I mean, I'm not complaining, even if it means I've now seen way more of Verlander than I ever wanted to.
August 31st, 2014 at 11:24 PM ^
No. This is the Jennifer Lawrence nudes thread.

I have no interest in stopping.

Fun, topical fact: Looks like Kate might have been at the game yesterday. She's a known Michigan fan, after all.

injuries but it was determined to be the wrong shade of maize.

I quit looking for more after I found pictures with Henne. I couldnt find any where the Oline has them on and Navarre is the QB. The last image is from The 2004 MSU game (Braylonfest)

Noticed just about everybody but the kickers are going with gloves this year. Probably a good thing since they seem to give you better grip and a little more protection....which is nice.
August 31st, 2014 at 11:03 PM ^
I also noticed the team has some very promising sock technology working in their favor on game day. Hell, even some of our more rambunctious MGoBloggers (I'm looking at you WD) are getting in on it... which is nice.
August 31st, 2014 at 11:55 PM ^
Even some of our regular posters have turned to gloves this year.

Jesus, man. Really? It does make me curious when this first became a common practice, though.
August 31st, 2014 at 11:10 PM ^
Their also wearing special jock straps with extra cushion.
August 31st, 2014 at 11:22 PM ^
Molk not wearing them.
But continue scoffing at the idea that some might be interested in if/when the policy changed and why. It was clearly recent since I can find plenty of pictures of OL not wearing them.
August 31st, 2014 at 11:26 PM ^
That's why Molk tore his ACL.
August 31st, 2014 at 11:38 PM ^
So maybe RR changed the policy after that. Maybe all the players decided to start wearing them on their own. Maybe Hoke changed the policy when he was hired. Maybe the braces sucked and the technology improved which makes them more comfortable so more players are wearing them.
I think Michigan has a no visor policy too but I thought I saw a player with one yesterday.
August 31st, 2014 at 11:24 PM ^
Under RR it looked like it was the players' choice. 50 and 79 didn't have them and 52 did.

All I know- Martin has put on extra weight in the pros. And doesn't appear to be good weight

This has been mandatory at Michigan for over 20 years. Today they have full knee braces, but in my day we had one bar that we taped to the outside of our legs to avoid getting rolled up on and tearing an MCL.
I was watching the 95 OSU game today and all of our OL had knee support. What a line, BTW, Janson and Runyan outside, Rod Payne at center!
September 1st, 2014 at 12:16 AM ^
I can find plenty of picture of OL not wearing them.
Here's Omamah.
September 1st, 2014 at 12:25 AM ^
That must have changed when Coach Rod took over. Under Lloyd, if you took the field without them, he, Paul Schmidt, and Jon Falk would have had your ass.
And I'm pretty sure it was standard before Lloyd took over. I suppose Coach Rod thought they might hinder the OLs speed and made it optional. They were not comfortable, that's for sure.
September 1st, 2014 at 12:40 AM ^
I posted a pic of Schilling wearing them under RR while Molk and Dorrestein weren't. Looked like a players choice under him.
September 1st, 2014 at 12:05 AM ^
Here's the 1991 line. You can see all the braces taped on.
September 1st, 2014 at 12:35 AM ^
Florida State doesn't wear them on all knees. They are pretty good.
Here's last years championship game. Cameron Erving has a brace on one knee only. Bryan Stork has nothing.
Tre Jackson, preseason All American. One knee.
September 1st, 2014 at 12:38 AM ^
You're really going overboard on this knee brace shit.

When I came out of retirement to fight a roided out guy with a sleep apnea mask on.
Long story short I had a slight back issue, climbed out a 300 foot hole, and saved Gotham City from nuclear annihilation. Or as I call it, a normal Tuesday.
