...talks about how UConn hasn't been in contact and how they're out. (HT: UMHoops)
Kalis officially decommits from OSU
Commence (continue?) wild speculation about this weekend.
Wow this is going to get very interesting. Not only will his recruitment become intense, but you have to wonder what kind of effect this will have on Dunn and even other big time recruits that seemed to waiver a bit. Does anyone know who he will be considering and how important being close to home is? I am trying to get a hold of my friends who follow recruiting since i know nothing on my own.

I can't say much about anything with him because I think it's sensitive. I will say that this is something to keep an eye on. Definite interest in Michigan.

No recruiting thread is complete without cryptic TomVH!
if he'll be our starting Left Guard, Right Guard, or Center right? Or does he plan on getting that surgery during the offseason to make his arms 1' longer so he can play Left Tackle?

some of the Ohio State boards and they now say that they never wanted him. Hope he goes BLUE!! Best of luck to him!!
I am drunk, or I wouldn't be talking to you.
Fuck them, They'll disagree in 4 years after we kick their ass 4 years in a row and Kalis is driving their D-Line back 10 yards downfield.
"A Michigan Man will coach a Michigan Team"
There's some pretty impressive whining going down at 11W as we speak.
Abort, Retry, Fail?
It's his choice to do whatever he wants, but I think this speaks volumes about someones character, you promise someone that you're wholeheartedly in, and then you withdraw. Kind of shows that you for a lack of better terms have no balls.
Yea, I'm sure this tough guy would say that to a 6'5 302lb athlete in person.
"We bring you to Michigan to take care of Michigan; your job is to protect that block M."
-Carol Hutchins
This is so true. It's why they didn't want Boren to come play for them. They are, if nothing else, at least not hypocrites.
when they coach a Big 10 football team in Ohio and to entice an 18 year old kid to play for them, they tell the kid that their school has a certain set of morals and values, but then it turns out that coach has been lying to his superiors, the press and the team and actually there's a whole other set of values and morals going on.
I also think it speaks volumes about an 18 year old kid who wouldn't want to be associated with such a program.
lol, i love this, i'm sorry I'm gonna steal it ....

he is a Buckeye through and through, i think he will look around at other schools, like michigan and penn state, but he wants to be a Buckeye. I believe we could have ourselves a commitment from Kyle Kalis this weekend
But sir, but sir, BUT NOTHING
But didn't they say the same thing about Kalis a number of weeks ago?
"I love him, he's a great coach, he's a great mentor, he's a great friend. He's every single thing you want a college coach to be, and he does it flawlessly." -David Molk
If this was in response to what i said I agree with you in the fact that Dunn will be a tough pull no matter what. However we both know this will create even more talk about getting Dunn. I will add that I have talked to a few of my recruiting guru friends who have heard and believe Michigan will be hard to beat for Kalis. I liked that Tom gave an encouraging cryptic post as well. I would love for you to be right, and that it happens this weekend.

Wow sounds like there are some reliable sources saying Dunn is expected to de-commit soon as well. Wow is all I can say!

Hoke is about to reach across the table in the middle of dinner, grab a commit right off O$U's plate and then excuse himself for a golden bowel movement!

It's a full time jack move! Wonder if this will be the *one* "major" decommit that starts a mini-stampede away from tOSU, or gives pause to most others strongly considering them in spite of their impending screwing.
Remember when Dreisbach1817 was told he was the grim reaper? Yeah, not anymore. This is really good news if only because he's got a definite interest in Michigan. I'm going to temper my excitement until he commits to us or somewhere that is not OSU though.

At least Ohio isn't really "national", so we don't have to worry about MSU. That's a weight off my shoulders.

I think Sparty would insist it is considering 5 of their 6 commits are from the state of Ohio. Too bad Kalis isn't even considering Sparty.

Well according to at least one poster on the RCBM (yes I started to enjoy the schadenfreude recently), MSU is looking to get in on him.

I almost want to look at OSU boards to see the massive freakout. For now, I will restrain.
At the Dispatch website for the hell of it. The posters there are too busy in-fighting to notice that Kalis is getting out of dodge. Very strange phenomenon. I think it hurts so bad that they're turning on each other, questioning others' "love" of and "loyalty" to the school.
"Better to have died as a small boy than to fumble this football" -- John Heisman
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually feel a little bad for (some) OSU fans. They aren't the ones who cheated, and it has to be devastating to find out -- in a matter of months -- that your beloved team's successes are tainted and its future looks horribly grim. It makes me even angrier with Tressel, Gene Smith, and the rest of those d-bags for what they've done to college football.

I haz it.
EDIT: It just wasn't the same without a picture.
