Jordan Payton apparently very impressed w ND
According to TVH and tweets and retweets of Payton, he is loving Notre Dame. Commitment watch may be put to a halt.
Lets just hope he is saying he likes it bc he is there and not bc he actually really likes it!! I think its safe to say that many people have been anticipating Payton to commit to M this week. if we lose out on him, our WR targets suddenly get a little more concerning as i think he was the best of the bunch.
Anyone know when Madaris or Darboh are thinking of announcing?

Yeah like the Wolverines stepping up big the rest of the season and earning a trip to the Rose Bowl right up the road from Payton! Eh? Eh? I bet he'd like that.
October 24th, 2011 at 11:53 AM ^
that us getting to the Rose Bowl is going to have to have some serious help from "SPARTY NOOOOO!!!"
Essentially, unless MSU loses to both Nebraska and Iowa AND we win out (not saying we cant) we will then go to Chicago. THEN we have to beat Wiscy.. and their beefy middle america road graders.

B1G Championship is in Indy.

One more thing he goes to a school which puts quite a few D-1 prospects out year in and year out. He may just been told by coaches to never say a bad thing about other schools because maybe next year said school would not be a good to future recruits. Know he may have really loved ND but even if he did not I can not see one reason to ever say anything bad, these schools wine and dine you and your teamates year in and year out. So I would think they all have to love visits per there coach end of story for future teamates at there alma mater?

good point, looking back to when I was that age I can't imagine If I went on a recruiting visit that I would not have a good time even if I wasn't seriously considering that school. At least for the blue chip recruits, schools are doing their best to impress and chances are no matter what the end result the recruit is going to have a good time.

At this game?
October 23rd, 2011 at 10:16 PM ^
Kiel was at the game. There were actually 51 prospects at the game. Sounds like it was ridiculous.
October 23rd, 2011 at 11:27 PM ^
... wouldn't it be difficult to provide personal attention to specific recruits with so many coming for one weekend. I see the advantage of having the most elite talent surrounding you, but at some point coaches can't possibly provide enough indiviual attention.
Thoughts?

I dont understand how telling Jordan Payton my current location is going to make him like Michigan more
October 23rd, 2011 at 11:01 PM ^
It's probably as helpful as ND fans replying "pizza" and "naked women."

Cuz God only knows they couldn't say:
'Our quarterbacks' futures in the NFL' or 'Coach Kelly's blood pressure'

He's as good as gone. Oh well, there are other good wr out therr

Enough said. How could any parent want their child playing for that self-riteous maniac. Come to a place where you are treated like an individual and become part of a family the day you step on campus. Hoke's Bo-like tough love builds men. Kelly's raging antics proves that he views players as cogs for his machine, another resource to help bolster his career prospects. This is a no brainer Mr. Payton.

Might be able to take more than one reciever, as scholarships are opening up. Inside sources have said that cornerback Greg Brown has left the team and is looking to transfer to Cincinnati. Source says that spot on depth chart behind fellow freshman Countess and Taylor and the fact Brown enrolled early to compete for playing time are both factors in his decision.

Y would u say a kids name? Let the kid make the decision, and make it public! Have some respect.
October 23rd, 2011 at 11:13 PM ^
He is a message board poster. People hear stuff all the time - sometimes true, sometimes false. When people hear stiff, they post it on message boards. Not saying that we should out some kid's private decision, but if it were really private then ningnang wouldn't have heard it.

Supposedly a lot of recruits had a wonderful time, despite witnessing a humilating loss that casts doubt over the future of the program.

Yes, and the crazy thing is that a lot of key recruits have committed while attending these types of games.
Michael Floyd verballed the day after witnessing a 38-0 drubbing by USC in '07.
Manti Te'o's OV was the horrid Syracuse loss to GERG.

kids on their future schdule.
Next year they go to Dublin, Ireland to play Navy. Host Miami in Chicago and will play Oklahoma in a home and home the next two years. Next years Freshmen will get a chance to play Texas in 2015 and 2016.
This goes with their annual games with Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, USC and Stanford. They also play BYU and will play a couple games at the Meadowlands.
If you go to ND you will be challenged.
October 23rd, 2011 at 11:47 PM ^
And when those challenges come, a purple-faced man will yell at you as you lose against every elite team on the schedule.
October 23rd, 2011 at 11:45 PM ^
the BIG 10 should talk to there teams about boycotting the Irish. They wanna play 3 and sometimes more like when they also played Ohio , Northwestern, Penn State plus the usual three of Uof M , Purdue, and Sparty. Yet the will not join our conference while turning the BIG 10 down at least 3 or 4 times I have heard of. It is like they get the cake and getting to eat it also, I know that was corny but man I feel like they disrespect the BIG10 while needing our teams to fill their schedules out. Any one else feel this way or am I looking into this to much?
October 23rd, 2011 at 11:47 PM ^
they also said in the paper a few months back if they had to choose it would be the ACC, then the Big East but really want to stay independent, So the BIG10 may be their fourth choice if even that high on the domers list.
October 24th, 2011 at 12:02 AM ^
Probably b/c they know they'd get knocked the F out in our conference
October 24th, 2011 at 12:11 AM ^
but ND needs to realize this is not the 90s anymore, and actually the BIG10 has the power and could force there hand if the wanted too.

He just posted "Maize/Blue? or Blue/Gold?" as his status so I'd say he's maybe rethinking thing
October 24th, 2011 at 2:04 AM ^
If only they had called him "Tom."
October 24th, 2011 at 9:33 AM ^
Actually went to the game (brother is a ND graduate so forgive me)...hate to say it but it was a FANTASTIC atmosphere in the stadium on Saturday night. They pulled out all the stops...the terrible towels, piped in music during 3rd downs and timeouts, etc. Talked to several other ND graduates and veterans of ND statium...they said it was the loudest they've heard it in 20 years. Granted the final result wasn't what they had hoped for but it would have been very hard to walk out of there unimpressed.
October 24th, 2011 at 10:34 AM ^
Towels & music? Damn, sounds like a fucking fantabulous time! No way we can beat towels and music. Throw in a little bit of etc... and there is no way we can match that atmosphere.
October 24th, 2011 at 10:03 AM ^
He's changed his profile picture and he's almost begging UM fans to woo him. I don't like this at all.
The kool-aid that ND feeds these kids must be very strong.
October 24th, 2011 at 10:08 AM ^
If he's already asking for the U of M fans to come out on twitter - not a good sign. If he's that easily swayed, not sure if you want to count on him for a spot in the 2012 class - could be an easy flip to the darkside.
October 24th, 2011 at 11:17 PM ^
Apparently he is not sure about announcing tommorrow now
