This is only bad if we can't replace him with a comparable guy.  I see no reason to doubt that we can.

Ouch. That one hurts. The only upside is that Harbaugh already has a track record of going straight for the top to find replacements. Should be interesting to see who he brings in. Greg Roman possibly?

Not completely shocked...thought 3 yrs would have been his max in AA. Roman looks like a legit possibility or knowing Harbaugh there is some kind of young QC guy he would bring in.

that confident this wasn't a mutual decision? It's not like JH can't attract elite assistants. Clearly the University will pay for them. Maybe JH wants to switch things up. Not saying Fisch isn't a very good coach but isn't UM supposed to have the BEST assistants available?

If the Harbaugh coaching tree is leading to this type of gig, we should have highly competent guys lining up to join the staff. Fisch will be tough to replace, however, given how well thought of he is. Congrats to him anyway.

Was Fisch much of a recruiter? I don't recall seeing his name very often when discussing recruits (as opposed to Wheat, Partridge, Brown, GMatt, etc).

Well.

Greg Roman? Pep Hamilton?

We just had Jimme Dougherty - he just left to go with Taggert to Oregon. Can we bring him back? He easily would've een the lead candidate.

Then you have TJ Weist. He was just on our staff and left to go to USF and coach with Taggert. He was their head coach during the bowl win.

Lifelong East Coast guy leaving Jim Harbaugh for the black hole that is Jim Mora's UCLA.  Mora will enter next year on one of the hottest seats in CFB.  This seems kinda fishy to me.

I had hoped we had one more year with him but oh well. He definitely was one of my favorites. Good luck to him....now it'll be interesting to see who he gets. Any chance there's an internal promotion?

With Harbaugh, coaches will be attracted to work and learn under him. In turn, we will lose coaches every year most likely. Harbaugh will reload with new talent in terms of coaches. The question is who could be the replacement? WR coach or combo QB/WR coach?
